I used to hike these mountains when i was a child. Even at night time we sometimes had to walk those narrow pathways using torched chopped pine trees as our light along the way. Watching this brought tears to my eyes and a longing that can't be satisfied because much has been changed. I hope our politicians will always preserve its natural state as natural as it was since its discovery. It fell down as the 8th wonder of the world because of so many sad factors.
Wonderful video, the rice terraces are amazing, the many years of working and designing it must be honored. The people are bless by the great God. Thank you!
...8th wonder of the world...banaue rice terraces...philippines...thanks for visiting my hometown Bangaan....hope you come back and visit again.Godbless you sir.
The Banaue Rice Terraces of the Philippines has been named as 8th wonders of the world before.. such a rich in cultures and majestic views of rice terraces, mountains and waterfall..
fantastic! I'm impressed with the beauty of these terraces. you're one lucky man.one of the beauty spot of Cordillera. hope to see more videos of luzon, northern Philippines. thank you very much for sharing.
Yes !! finaly you did it!! you'll get some incredible shots in the philippines!! don't miss the hapao rice terraces and sagada village too if you are still there!! i'm glad you went there! the road between banaue and sagada is one of the most beautiful and scenic road i've seen while travelling. Thanks for sharing
Hi dear friend, a very nice video for those rice terraces. I do not know much about Philippines and hope we see more videos later. Thank you for sharing. Have a good time, regards
Costas Douligeris philippines is archipelago islands country a tropical country consisting of 7 ,400 islands a diverse culture mix with asians..spanish..american culture..that nature rice terraces is not only nature you can found in that country..a lots more if you are a traveller from island to islands and province to province..
This was created more than 2000 years ago, with full bare hands by Filipino men and women. The Philippines, even located within the pacific ring of fire, was never safe from nature's wrath, thus, our country and its people have endured the tremendous natural force in forms of mostly earthquakes, volcanic eruptions and tropical cyclones. It's quite an irony, that as nature goes into a rampage, a beautiful landscape springs from all the chaos, and compels people to design and reshape the area to maximize the use of resources.
Yes is truth i am happy because my country is not so dangerous to natural disasters like philippines but is not 100 % safe because was many flood earthquakes. ! But with Philippines we are because we have same commun points in history. Against us was many enemies like in Philippines
actually the area have 19.6 metric tons of copper proven reserve. based on our on going research. the igorot have the technology to cast copper thus bronze for tools. as part of another research by a number of cordellera universities. the hypothesis was the Igorots were a remnant of an ancient lost kingdom called tawalisi, based in pangasinan year 1350 pre-colonial spanish era.(referenced by a famous muslim traveler scholar IBN BATTUTA) which also proved the existance of a prosperous trading kingdom ruled by a princess called URDUJA. 1350-1400 AD.oral evidence and current acheological digs shows some igorot wemen were named after her mainly from the IBALOI -IGOROT tribes. oral tradition dictates she was a ruler of all the highland and lowland tribes which make up the kingdom. futher physical evidence shows the IGOROTs have the skill and technology to mumify thier dead (see SAGADA Mumies) further evidence of the IGOROTS organizational skill is evident in the traditional call of the thousand gongs (see kalinga-ganza dance) akin to a feudal system of levy to all tribes. each tribe or clan will contribute labour/warriors or goods to the king or pangulo. a system how to organize a labour force to execute these major rice terraces projects or war whichever the needs are. further the gongs were made out of copper thus bronze mined locally. my grandfather used to teach us how to cast them along with weapons and farming equipment. In a way visiting the terraces in the remote mountans of cordelleras sort like going back in time and discovering a lost kingdom frozen for 2000 years. Iam glad UNESCO-UN recognised that and declared it a protected area. i see a lot of hotels and resorts popping up and i hope we can keep the ecology for another 2000 years.
correcction of the copper reserve its 19.6 million metric tons 2018 natural resources report. 1.6 million metric tons of gold and 40 million tons of manganese. by the way its hypothesized that GOLD was the reason the IGOROTS maintained their isolation from the spanish conquestadors and colonisers for 500 years. unlike the inca and aztec gold kingdoms the IGOROTS some how manged to keep the cordellera independent from spain. however further research need to be completed to validate these hypothesis.
as a direct discendant of the ifugaos also known as igorots that built this. its amazing how our tradition of being in hamony with nature still carries on. i used to remember my great grandfather tells of the techniques of how to control nature for the benefit of all by using innovation, told us an ancient principles of retaining walls, water hydralics over night fires after dinner. i guess to this day that would be our class room on our course lessons in ancient engineering being handed down to us orally. which i understand now was the case for miliniums past. during the day we have our practical instruction how to create a retaining wall made from stones that could withstand floods and earthquakes. called "kabite" how we used hallowed bamboos to make water pipes and how it is used for pumping water from one mountain to another the same hydarulic principle the romans used on thier aquaduct systems. grandpa alos taught us how to use water in a bamboo pipe as a leveler, very accurate in leveling those tarraces against an un-even terrain. i guess an ancinet from of laser leveler. as afforsaid mentioned our igorot tradition of using nature to better our fellow man i have carried on the tradition more to the 20th century nature, by innovation on solar and wind energy. interestingly enough when my brother and i built our first 100mw solar farm in canada there was an incident where we lost of laser level so we relied on grand fathers lessons in using a garden hose filled with water to level the solar panels over a 1000m distance. we were off by 1mm of an inch. ima now retired from my solar factory and devote my time on my research on renewbale energy plus my research about how the igorots origins and and how we maintained this eco-system and global wonder for so long.
Its looks similar to coastal Maharashtra ies Kokan. In Ratnagiri and Raigad district there are several such sceneries. Stepping of hillslope for agriculture purposes is also common. All of us are children of mother nature. Nice photography and video. Thanks.
From our point of view, it seems paradisiacal; but for them, in addition, how much effort means to till those lands! It gives the impression that they join in cooperatives because everything is well used.
Fantastic! I have been in the Philippines more than 10 times, it is a wonderful country with an impressing nature and very kind people. Now I hope you have also visited some more of the countless stunning locations. Let me guess, a video of the chocolate hills on Bohol will also follow soon ;). Thanks Milosh for your work ... Regards from Germany
It was short trip, and the Chocolate hills I will have to do on my next visit, but I am working on two more videos from the Philippines - from El Nido and Coron areas. Cheers :)
I was twice on Coron Islands. It was great, but most attractive was the boots tour from Coron to Pass Island. This is a small island which looks unreal with its white beach, the coco palm trees and the blue and clear water. Maybe you have been also there ... I am very excited to see your next videos and how you realized the location with your cam. I am sure, much better than me ;-)
AndreasAC yes bro...you are very welcome in my country..we do love foreigners those who lovable and know how to respect our culture....as long as you descriminate filipinos this country you must to avoid....
beautiful rice terraces 😊or in Filipino, magandang hagdan hagdang palayan. love the video been to batad terraces way back 2003. glad that i did it back then since i can no longer do it after i got half body paralyzed. every Filipino should be able to witness this majestic heritage at least once in their life. also encourage foreigners to witness the culture of the people on the mountainous part north of the Philippines because it is unlike any other regions of the rest of the country. 🇵🇭
I can't tell in words what i was feeling when i watched the movie. Thank you so much for that! And, also from my side, more please.
