  • Now that mariachi music is heard everywhere, it's hard to imagine a time when it was next to unknown in the U.S. Nati Cano and his Camperos played a major role in its mushrooming popularity. This story is told from his beginning in Mexico through his establishment of L.A.'s La Fonda Restaurant, collaboration with Linda Ronstadt and massively popular touring show Fiesta Navidad. Mariachi Folklor Pasión Mexicana, Mariachi Tesoro de San Fernando and, of course, Los Camperos, portray the life of this charismatic musician.

Rest in Peace, Mr. Nati Cano... I've had the pleasure of having attended performances of el Mariachi Los Camperos to great indescribable enchantment. Once I would hear their unmistakable introduction " Ya llegaron Los Camperos con sus guitaras..." I knew that a spectacular & delightful musical experience, which will continue to have your high uncompromised level of commitment and thumbprint on, was about to unfold.
With grand admiration, and as much gratitude that I can possibly muster, I applaude you, Sir, Don Nati, for your hard work, years of relentless dedication, for being a visionary, and being at the forefront of highly talented leaders in the Arts that have had an astonishing impact in the advocacy of truly elevating the regional Mexican Mariachi music to the heights of global notoriety and whom dared to include Hip-Hop & Classical music in the musical repertoire of Los Camperos.
My most heartfelt and sincerest condolences to the family, and to each and every one of the accomplished musicians that have had the distinct privilege of wearing a Charro suit donning the prestigious, and ever so distinguished name, el Mariachi Los Camperos de Nati Cano. Your legacy, Sir, will continue as it is engrained in history and culture, and forever embedded, from coast to coast and continent to continent, in the hearts of many.
Adelante Camperos, con nostalgia, con honor, y siempre con esa frente en alto que desde lejos los devisa su director, el "Chief".
    Los acompanio en su dolor...

It's sad that Monica Trevino "La Ranita" wasn't invited or even mentioned. She was and IS the best female to ever play mariachi. Ask anybody.

I want to like it but it's just the same songs all over again. Can you really not put together another popurri. I mean if nothing else a Jose Alfredo popurri, do a couple boleros or something....
