Bought that BK meter because of the advice you gave. What a lifesaver! Me ol' Radioshack cheap-O-meter bit the dust after some12 or so odd years of service.
I think I need a multimeter but don't know why, or how to use it. I'm guessing it's handy for checking connections and values and if resistors and capacitors are lessening current correctly, but do I need to know stuff like ohms law to understand it all, and do pedal kits tell you how much current you should get at different stages of a circuit? (Sorry if I'm not making sense)
Hi there! If you don't mind, do you have an opinion on something like the FLUKE F15B+? I'm pretty new to this, and the BK is hard to get in Canada and costs an arm and a leg. This one seems very similar and is currently on special haha. Than ks in advance!
Id almost say they are essential for the the reasons you mentioned and a whole lot more. For the sake of 10 dollars you should pick one up! Of course it helps but you dont need to know ohms law to get value from a multimeter.

anyone know if the markets changed a bit or if these still are good choices?
Have a look at the Uni-T UT61E....very nice DMM for the $
What the best multimeter for Diy (amps and pedals)?
