I am coming back to your videos as a senior in nursing school! I watched your videos 5-7 years ago before I was even accepted into my program. I recently had a moment of "I'm not sure if I can do this, I don't even want to work in a hospital at this point" after a bad experience interning on a labor and delivery floor in my hometown. I was searching for guidance and rewatched some of your videos, and it has given me great comfort knowing that you have found your dream position and are working towards your passions. What I truly admire is that you have never taken for granted your previous positions and the experience you have gained. I am more than excited to graduate nursing school knowing that there is a world of possibility out there!!
Thanks for this video, it pains me that after studding so hard I end up failing 💔😪, I've taken the exams for the 4th time now and still didn't succeed, i wonder how those who succeeded did it.
So sorry to hear you guys complain deeply of failing the exam. But I will assure you that NP exam won't be a problem to you anymore,if you work with someone like Mr Andrew . he help me through my exam and I made it through.
Really, you'll know him Too? I even thought I was the only one he has helped walk through the fears and falls of NP Exam, Mr Andrew has brought me out of the trenches and to a better living, I encourage repeat test taker to work with him.
Always love your videos! I am in my second to last semester of the BSN program, graduating next May, hoping to get a job in the NICU! I have see you go from nursing school to now and you are such an inspiration!
Love this!!! I’m in my first semester of NP school and I am feeling like I am treading water. I am trying to tamp down the perfectionist syndrome, but God willing, this will be a successful start.
Nicely done!! I think it's a great idea that you have shared especially in this last semester to take it one week and sometimes one day at a time. If I might make a suggestion. Make your list of what you did and didn't like about the unit you are doing your clinicals in. Including the NNP's and the Neos. I'm hoping that you have already started applying to places. Also keep in mind your future hubby if you are not staying where you currently are. Will he be able to work? Ask the place that you are interviewing if they will pay for him to visit as well. I found places that were willing to bring out my wife at the time seemed like they were not only interested in my work but me as a person. Toby
It’s so crazy, I’ve been watching you since your, “Day In The Life, Nursing School Clinical,” videos and now you’re almost done with NP school. So proud of you! Thank you for sharing your journey and helping me on my nursing journey. 🥹🤍🫶🏽
I’m in grad school as well. Try marking the assignment due date in your planner a wk earlier than the actual date. This tricks the brain to think you have less time to get it done. Also setup a reminder a few days before that (early) deadline to push you to get started. I personally just use my phone calendar.
For me personally I got through nursing school with a white board. I call it my ADHD white board. Where everything that’s on my mind that would randomly pop up would go on the board. When I’m out I had an ADHD book lol. So random things I’d just write down especially when it started consuming my brain. Lastly an ADHD notes section. So those three things. But the white board helped the most because I’d see my stuff every day. All the things that would distract me would be on there. For example I’d be doing work and I’d randomly think about how I should get a plant. Also, I accepted ADHD. When I got frustrated about not being able to retain any information. I’d remind myself that I’m not my ADHD. Give myself grace. I’d tell myself to just learn one thing. Just one. Then when I’m able to recall that information it made happy and more motivated to do another one. I did short burst of things. I would study and see how long I could go without feeling overwhelmed mentally. So that would be my time blocks. I studied based on how long I could focus. So if I can go 15 minutes without feeling overwhelmed then I’d do just 15 minutes at a time. In between I’d do things that satisfy my dopamine craving. Like food, TikTok etc. I’d also only watch things that are short on youtube or watch shows or movies I’ve seen before. I do this because if my break ends at least I know what’s going to happen in the movie. I’m not excited to keep watching.
Sometimes when I really needed to focus I’d only watch nursing or medical school vlogs. Greys anatomy during my breaks. Something that gives me a dopamine boost while also motivating me. I’d watch TikTok’s on nursing during my study break. Ontop of that I’d use forest focus because I get cute trees which add to my motivation and also seeing my progress on the app
Damn it’s been 2 years already?? Time flies 😭 congrats babe! You’re going to be an amazing nurse practitioner 🫶🏾

@@brandiebrown1561 No problem and thanks! I hope it helps 😊
The end is near! How often are you working now? And can you use your current job for practicum hours?
Do you have any experience with adhd and nursing school? Would love to hear your thoughts x

I think small short term attainable goals are the easiest way to get through the monster that nursing school can be
I think your in the same semester at the same school I go too lol😂
