Thanks, guys, once again for remembering the fallen heroes of the past, like my grandfather, who was a lewis Gunner in WW1 and died in action on Christmas day 1916 on the anniversary of the Christmas ceasefire. After a bomb fell on his position, killing him and the man next to him. Thanks again for remembering all who fall.
During my last concert I needed to shortly leave for the toilets in between and when I came back they just had started my favourite song so I rushed back upstairs to my seat as fast as I could. I have so say though, it's kinda epic to run upstairs accompanied with a choir of, "Higher, the King of the sky, he's flying too fast again he's flying too high". Lol
The best album I have ever listened to. Even though thrash is my kind of metal, Sabaton reigns supreme over any other band out there! Much love and I hope I can see you live! 🤘❤
This was the album that introduced me to you guys. First song I heard was 'Fields of Verdun' and was IMMEDIATELY hooked. Then the next was '82nd All the Way' and that locked you in as my favorite band.
I'm watching this on my birthday! Sabaton, you guys are amazing. My favorite part of the last couple of years has been discovered, listening, and seeing you guys live. It has been an amazing metal journey and I hope it continues for many years to come. The Great War is an Amazing Albumn. In fact, Attack Of The Dead Men was unknowingly the first song I ever heard from you guys. Favorite song off the albumn has to be Devil Dogs though, hope you guys play it live one of these tours. It is the most patriotic American song ever written
Turning Point (2025) - "Sabaton" 1. The Second Battle of El Alamein in 1942 (Mind Games) 2. The Battle of Borodino in 1812 (Borodino) 3. The Tet Offensive in 1968 (New Year Offensive) 4. The Battle of Kosovo's field in 1389 (Kosovo's Field) 5. The Battle of Cannae in 216 BC (Hannibal) 6 The Fall of Constantinople in 1453 (Fall) 7. Operation "Shock and Awe"/ The 2003 invasion of Iraq by US-led coalition forces (Shock and Awe) 8. The march of Simon Bolivar's army across the Andes in 1819 (El Libertador) 9. Sepoy Rebellion in 1857 (Rebellion)
DEVIL DOGS!! May favorite from this album! Par is absolutely right that this song is very intense and has a great melody. My challenge to Sabaton is to play this LIVE! That would be phenomenal to hear this played first in the US!
I love that album❤❤❤. I still think The Last Stand is the Best but Great War and all songs depicting World War I is peak lirics and performance of Sabaton. You really made complete WWI music expierience, so now WWII needs probably few more songs about heroes and battles, and then modern warfare OR stories from centuries ago will be parts of future album.... Greatings from Bydgoszcz, Poland.
My husband and son have been fans for a while now. Though I am a metal fan, I tend to shy away from war-related material, but after seeing you live a couple months ago (Loveland, CO, USA), I’ve been down the algorithm rabbit hole. The animated videos and listening party vids, among others, have helped to connect me to the music, the heartbreaking history, and all of you. Thank you for all you bring to the world.
a history lesson in music. powerful and epic music which tells the story of these dark days for millions of human beings, it speaks of the courage that its men and women, both civilian and military, have shown
Thobbe is so correct about 82nd All the Way, I'd say this album is the Sabaton album that impacted my life the most which includes that song. I became a fan in 2019 when this was the latest album that was released and these tracks always stuck with me through my life and I have a good memory with pretty much every track on it. 82nd All the Way is definitely my favorite, because it inspired me to learn about Alvin York which led me to visiting his house in Tennessee and meeting his grandson and great grandson. It really is the song that keeps on uplifting you when you know about York's story, and I was able to tell my friends about York and how he's more than just an old movie character. I can go on with how I played Seven Pillars of Wisdom to my dad when he showed me Lawrence of Arabia for the first time, and I listened to Ghost in The Trenches right after boarding a train in Canada which is the first time I went out of the country. I'd listen to Great War when writing stories about characters and people in war, I blasted Devil Dogs driving down the highway with my windows down on the 4th of July because some lady was yelling at me, and Fields of Verdun reminds me of Charles de Gaulle: another favorite historical person of mine who fought at Verdun. Basically this album has stuck with me from a loner in highschool blasting metal in my headphones while walking down the hallway, to someone majoring in history traveling to all these places these events took place and these people lived and visited. I love this album and I cannot wait for new music as well!
My brother introduced me to the red baron one day and then fields of verdun a while later and I immediately fell in love with your music!! 🫶 Many of my favorites came from the Great War album
I honestly have no idea how many times I’ve listened to Great War, 82nd all the way and Devil dogs. The best part is I want to do a charity livestream for remembrance day and this album is perfect for that. Thank you Sabaton for giving me a greater appreciation for this sort of thing and for giving me such a great education on topics I never knew about.
Hard to believe that this album came out, five years ago. I have good memories from that time. I saw Sabaton twice that year. At Graspop and at Wacken. The latter is still something I look back on, with more fondness. That show is unbeatable.
I have loved your music for quite a while now. I have watched every listening session because I love to hear the stories and memories you share. I have to admit, one of my favorite parts of this session was when the person behind the camara zoomed in on the beer fridge during the playing of Red Baron! So appropriate!
I’m in late but I just discovered you guys last month and have literally only been listening to yall since. Changed my life. 10/10 please keep making music.
It's embarrassing to admit (because I'm old, LOL), but I just discovered you about 6 months ago when I listened to Dan Vasc's cover of "The Last Stand." Now I am a massive fan!! I love these listening parties. They help me discover and catch up on what I have missed for the last 24 &1/2 years. You are fantastic and I have loved everything I've heard, but I still have a long way to go!! Love from Texas!❤❤🤘🤘🔥🔥
Tommy sounds like he inspired the chorus for Ghost in the Trenches as it's a similar tune to his chorus from the track Never Lie from his band Reinxeed
You should make the new album be released by album listening party, dont release any songs before the album or maybe send a snippet to get people hyped for more❤ Best is a surprise listening party for the album
Considering we have 2 months without a listening party I say with November do the singles and EPs in one and for December we get the first taste of the new album
Oh my God sabaton needs to make a song about Desmond doss. The medic who saved 75 men without touching a weapon on the battle of Okinawa. Pls that would be a dream come true. You guys need to watch hacksaw ridge
Attended your show with Judas Priest last night in Sioux Falls, SD, and you've got a new fan. Thank you for a great show, the energy and vibes were phenomenal, and the music is second to none. If I ever get a chance to see you again, you can bet I'll be there.
Greetings from Russia. Perhaps, "Great War" is the band's album, in which I can't call a single song "passable" (although almost all Sabaton songs are wonderful. But here it is even difficult for me to rank the top songs, they are all wonderful. I once noticed that in Sabaton some of the strongest songs are dedicated to the First World War, one can note the features of "Cliffs of Galipoli", "The Price of Mile" and "Last Dying Briht" (a gorgeous song, especially the emotional ending). I can also say that, probably, the best Sabaton song, for me personally, is "The End of the War to End All Wars", it sounds great and incredibly emotional. Special thanks for "Attack of the Dead". In general, I wish the band good luck, so that all the other songs are not weaker than what I gave out in this album, I hope that someday. Someone will be able to go to Russia again with a concert. With respect from Russia.
"Someone will be able to go to Russia again...." I'm sorry, but no one WANTS to go to russia for concerts because of the war in ukraine, not because russia wont let them.

I think it would have been nice to have him here too for the albums he was on but also would have loved it if Thobbe had joined them from the very first listening party too.
Another one of my absolute favourite albums. Also, The Red Baron is my favourite Sabaton song. The tour to that album was also my first Sabaton concert.
The zoom ins on the red Baron fridge (which I’d assume holds red Baron pizzas) during the red Baron really sell just how awesome this dude was, 80 planes downed in a wooden box with an engine is seriously mind blowing
Amazing guys - amazing album, so many feels, only one I currently own on vinyl (hoping to change that!). Agree its time to leave WW1 but I learned so much from it by listening to your songs. Whatever you put out, I am there!
This album has all very good songs, most notably the red baron, devil dogs, attack of the dead men and i loved the great war song and ghost of the trenches as well. Such a fire album 🔥🔥
