    You're doing a great job, Sir 👏. Thank you. I just tried your Scottish shortbread recipe and got an amazing result 👌. Though it looks like the video won't even get up to a hundred view,but am glad and thought to say thanks after watching this 😊

      It's Rik I will never be a sir. At this channel, our focus is on sharing recipes that work reliably, not chasing views. I have meticulously tested my recipes over the years to ensure anyone can make them successfully. While high view counts are nice, our priority is empowering viewers with dishes they can actually make. You won't find misleading shortcuts or outlandish claims here. We leave gimmicky ingredients and unrealistic timeframes to other channels. Our recipes don't rely on tricks - just honest, straightforward ingredients and instructions. The presentation isn't always perfect, but the food comes out right every time. We'd rather help you cook a meal than entertain you with smoke and mirrors. In time, those who value practicality over flash will become regulars. We strive to earn loyal fans through reliability, not empty spectacle. In cooking, as in life, substance triumphs over style. We'll stick to our principles, and trust the rest will follow. thank you for trying the shortbread. Best, Rik

    Hey Rik ..very simple and easy recipe..,but dosent the egg white need to be cooked

    • @BackyardChef
      @BackyardChef  2 місяці тому +2

      No, egg whites do not have to be cooked in marzipan. Traditional marzipan is made by combining finely ground almonds, sugar, and raw egg whites to bind the ingredients together. The egg white helps to create a smooth and pliable texture. Because of the sugar's preservative qualities, the risk of bacterial growth is minimized, making the use of raw egg whites generally safe in marzipan.
      However, suppose you have concerns about using raw egg whites due to potential health risks. In that case, you can use pasteurized egg whites or substitute with other ingredients such as corn syrup, glucose syrup, or water to achieve a similar consistency and binding effect without cooking. Thank you. Best, Rik

    Is this anything like the Odense marzipan? The dough is hard to come by where I live so if I can make it that would be preferred.

    I've never seen that type of plastic wrap dispenser. After cutting does the remaining plastic ever fall back inside and stick to the roll? Thanks for showing me how simple Marzipan is

    The hard part is finding almond flour and the concentrate. I travelled to Robinsons (Tops) to buy some lemons. I found grated almonds but no flour or concentrate. This was in Lopburi.

    Ummmmm - no what is denaturing the egg whites? That sounds like salmonella waiting to happen.
