@tehreem1725 Let me give some examples since most people never believe me when I say it. Almost 1 and 13 women in Japan have been victims of s*xual a*sult, not including the undocumented cases due to the lack of incompetence and care within the police force. Many phones in Japan are programmed to have shutter sound enabled because p*nty shots are so normalized. Both m*rderers and r*pists never get more than 5 years in prison, you'd be lucky if your r*pist or family members' m*rderer got more than 5. The entirety of the Junko Furuta case proves this. Most of Japan isn't culturally accepting at all, in fact most people there just want to fit in with everyone else and be as bland as possible because that's the most wanted lifestyle, you're heavily looked down upon for even trying to be different, that's why so many Japanese people get the same haircuts, dress in the same style (Trust me you won't see a lot of people with pink and red dyed hair, or cosplauing all the time, it's mostly where the most popular cities and travel spots are where people cosplay most and do their street fasion.) People in the west think the word "Otaku" is cool and cute for some reason, when it's literally the Japanese equivalent to calling somebody a discord mod/reddit mod. Oh and the fact that there is hypers*xualization of literal infants, toddlers, and pre-teens, and the production of drawn l*licon is fully legal. (Plus I doubt they'd belive a 4 year old if she even came out saying she was a victim herself, they'd probably tell her to deal with it.)
✨Storytime✨ When I first went to Japan I was intrigued by the Claw Machines, I didn't really want to play them but instead watched this cute couple win a toy. I was just outside the place (I was a kid) and the kind man gave me the toy he won, it really warmed my heart to see such kind people there and later when we were going back to our hotel we saw them again and he gave me another thing he won. I'd never forget this memory that at least there is hope that some people are still very kind no matter what
This also happened to me but not in Japan and it's possibly just because I lost a claw machine and looked sad lol, I got a teddy bear from the couple :) (I was 6 yrs old, the time where I was convinced I was a main character /hj)
Where I work we have to set the machines up so that on these type of cranes there is a win every 10 plays. So if you see someone play on a crane a couple times and give up, go play it and you’ll probably get it
Out of the 5 5* i have, i have 2 lost-50/50 ones and a character i didnt want. Nahida is the only one i wanted and won my 50/50 for. She was my first 5 star.
My family use to run an arcade, I know for a fact that they are a scam, the claw was programmed to only grip properly after we had recovered the cost of the plushie. There was a Pokemon plush that my friend really wanted, so my mom decided to help her get it and set the claw to grip properly everytime. Even then it took her 7 tries because she wasn't really skilled at maneuvering the claw.
Fun fact : The "Luck" Based arcade machines like those claw machines are actually programmed to give an award after several or more attempts and the settings on how many times that you can win a prize on those machines can be set by the manager
There was this small claw machine with parallel bars in Kyushu that had one piece figures and it only took like two dollars to get it to drop. I managed to get more than 10 figures from it with $20 and my friends were treated nicely from it as well until it got replaced only a bit later. Moral of the story: It is a scam overall, but it felt so nice getting the opportunity to beat the system on that occasion. I came out of the arcade with two big shopping bags. 😁
I was doing a claw machine (Japanese Claw Machine), and I tried SO HARD to get the hello kitty one. It was a Sanrio themed Claw Machine. I did several tries, and I never got it. I have been trying snice forever, and snice it’s a scam. My parents don’t usually let me play them. But I remember a candy Claw Machine (A small claw machine for kids), my little brother once when he was younger played it and won a huge chocolate. My dad thought it wasn’t free and asked the employees. Turns out he got a FREE chocolate.
A family friend knew one of the claws were programmed to have a stronger grasp on the prize so he counted how many tries it took people to win the claw. After he saw people give up or eventually leave or at least the attempt that would allow it to have the strongest grasp is then he would play it. He won a lot of prizes that week
Here's a tip for a better chance of winning claw machines. (especially the bigger ones). If people are playing the claw machine it is good to wait because, if they give up and they tried maybe 4-5 times on the machine there is a higher chance of you being able to get whatever is inside the claw-machine. Now, this helped me many times I even got a big sized one like the dude in the video but, it took 1-2 tries for me. You can also hold down the button till the claw closes. I don't have a reason behind that but yea :). Overall, just have fun playing the claw-machine.
Tip: if the prize ever gets into a difficult spot where you can't pick it up, go find a staff and they will reset it for you. My sister accidentally got a few of them in tough corners and once threw a big plush onto the other machine (it was one of those big ones with two sides). Another tip is, depending on the place, if you play too many times and don't get it, and the staff sees, they will adjust it to make it a bit easier, but not always the case.
They are programmed to grab after several tries, even tho its fun, some ppl lose patience and keep putting their money into it. Its basically gambling but w stuffed toys lmaoo😂

It's not just claw machines in Japan its claw machines in general. Japanese people (like myself 🙂) tend to be pretty generous. So basically I live in Japan and me and my family went to a Ramen shop. Traditionally, in Japan at this Ramen shop we took our shoes off. So when the waitress was bringing us the ramen she tripped on my sister's shoes!! She spilled some soup on them, but the shoes were really old and dirty anyway, so it wasnt a big deal. But she got really embarrassed and started frantically cleaning it up. the tension is programmed to loosen its grip at the top of it's arc to drop the item until a certain number of plays happen. the ppl who consistently win, do so by abusing bugs in the machine. such as a loose piece of metal on the claw that can hang on a tag or something
Claw machine claws grab on the item very loosely, but in some claw machines after a certain amount of tries (a lot) the claw will give you a chance and grab harder, I don’t really see claw machines like that commonly though
They games are set up that way, I used to work at a place with claw machines and they would change the settings on them. They could make it easier to get a prize or harder. They are meant so that the store isn’t loosing money with the claw machines.
