The McDonald's thing was a plastic record. It had a song, I think the Big Mac song and then it told you if you were an instant winner of that cash prize contest they had going on.
That collection is amazing! There's nothing quite like finding something rare or nostalgic at a flea market or some sort of yard sale. There's just a world of potential for finding some amazing stuff you'd never find anywhere else. I can't wait for the day I'm able to explore more flea markets again down the road.
I'm used to flea markets where the people that own the booths are actually there when your browsing, pretty much like a swap meet. I've never seen a flea market where there's no one operating the booth.
Love seeing all the retro stuff, but I wouldn’t wanna pay the flea market prices. They seem to always mark stuff either at eBay prices, or just a couple bucks cheaper.
11:50 most flea markets like that charge a percent of the sale price, usually 30% plus monthly rent ($100 month). So if the game was $4 they would pay $1.50 fees, they purchase the game at a garage sale for $1 (maybe). That leaves $1.50 profit. They need to make a little over $2 a day to rent that booth.
I definitely understand what you mean about how plushes are hard to figure out how to display. I've been addicted to collecting them since childhood whether they're based on cute animals or characters I love. The best way I've been able to display them is on the walls and doors using shoe organizers, but even that isn't enough since there are so many plushes that are too big to fit in those.
LMAO your wife sounds like mine. Rick I scored a Sega Saturn 2 controller and 4 games this week as well as 2 Wii U. Your videos and Chase have got me back to collecting and selling. Being disabled it has allowed me to make a little extra income. Thank you!!
Why would anyone "think about" buying an item they want for $1.25??....Juat buy the damn thing! As for the pricing in these places, they aren't there to sell stuff for nickels and dimes so that you can flip for dollars....This logic aggrevates me so much!
That McDonalds menu song gets stuck in my head to this day. “I want a Big Mac, Mac DLT, a Quarter Pounder with some cheese, Filet o Fish, a cheeseburger, a hamburger, a Happy Meal, McNuggets, tasty golden fries in regular or larger size...” and so on. There was some contest (as you may have seen on the record there) that if you can sing the whole song you could win a million dollars or something.
That Qui-Gon with the rotting stick coming out of his head creeped me the heck out!!! haha. Hey Rick, I saw some of what looked like PS2 games on the bottom left corner of the big DVD wall in the beginning. Was it all sports?
You inspired me to stop by a place on the way home from work. There were three new booths packed with figures. I got Tmnt, skeleton warriors, and Mighty Ducks. All below ebay prices.
Man seeing those blank disc and you mentioning Napster just brought back all kinds of memories downloading Korn & Limp Bizkit albums off of Napster & WinMx! Dope video dude!
Retro Rick, if you don’t mind me asking, how are you able to visit flea markets at this time of the year? The flea markets in my town don’t happen until Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
As a kid Pee Wees big adventure was my favorite movie and I was able to talk my mom into buying me that doll at the store when I saw it I knew I had to have it.
without even googling this place i know exactly where you were on this trip. I knew we are in the same state but did not know you would be visiting somewhere I have gone for item hunting.
The McDonald’s menu as you called it is actually a contest with a record that was the black square in the bag. You played the record and it had the chance to say you won. I’d have grabbed that for $3. I think it’s a neat piece.
I recently uncovered the thousands of baseball/basketball cards from my childhood (late 80s, early 90s). I know they are pretty much worthless but what would you do with them? Keep them for nostalgia, let my son play with them (and destroy them), or try to get whatever for them? Any recommendations of how to unload them?
That McDonald's thing was the song. They gave out records. You were supposed to memorize the song and say it at your McDonald's to win a million dollars. Me and my little sister practiced it and had it memorized until we found out you had to be 18 to win. I was 12 in 1989, my sister was 8.
would of loved to see how much the jem and the holograms dolls where and no one on UA-cam ever looks at the dolls :( I wish the UK had these kind of places but I really like these videos :)
I can understand the pricing like that at a flea marker. Mark up a little bit. But the one thing I hate is when you find something from a local listing and they won't budge off their Ebay pricing for a local cash deal. They are pricing their selves out of the local market. Not everybody out here is looking to resell. I still play PS2, N64 and Gamecube pretty much Daily, they are my 3 favorite systems.
So the vintage cabbage patch kids all have value and it wasn't just girls. Everyone I knew, boys and girls wanted and had a Cabbage Patch Kid. I still remember mine and brothers CPK names.
Hey Rick, that was a huge flea market alright lol. You got some good finds. Beetle juice is def one of my favourite Halloween movies plus I love Tim burton. I would have got the black cauldren mcdonalds toy though, just because I really like that Disney movie. To me it's the one Disney movie that does not seem disney at all as there's no dininging in it😂. That character is ogge(sp?) just love that film
On the west coast, as far as I know, this is a thrift store. Flea markets are outdoors with the people physically there at their "booth." Edit: Typically outdoors.
Cabbage patch dolls do have some value depending on the condition. I love those fluppy dog items you pass up. Man wish I could find those for my collection.
I have almost the entire coneheads collection MIB. I think I’m missing one figure. I have all 4 comics that were produced and one is signed by the guy who did the artwork in the comic. Unfortunately the figures are worth nearly nothing even in the boxes. I got them just because I like the colors on the box and I thought the figures were funny
@Annihilator X i was kid and had nothing better to do and on tv they showed shows like star trek next gen baywatch mcgyver A team so watched what was on and liked start trek the most .
Hey rick! Just wanna say I enjoyed the video, that’s a really huge flea market. But anyways, if you don’t know I’d you have this game or not that you find, I really recommend you download GAMEYE on the App Store or google play store. You can input all the games, systems and peripherals you have in your collection. And whenever you find a game and your not sure if you have it or not, just click on games, and then go to the search bar and search it. I’d the game shows then you have it, I’d not it means you don’t have it. See you next week!
This entire channel is a hidden gem
Greatest compliment ever
@@retrorick How does it work with the booths? Do people rent them? Are they filled by different people?
You found this channel in a second hand store and it was cheap so you got it
The McDonald's thing was a plastic record. It had a song, I think the Big Mac song and then it told you if you were an instant winner of that cash prize contest they had going on.
just threw one out recently.. silly classic Big Mac song... lettuce cheese on a sesame seed bun
And its only selling on ebay for $5 plus shipping

Hit that freaking subscribe button! 😁
I loved your videos
@Takumi Fujiwara yes
“If you’re watching babe , I love you so much!” -Retro Rick lmao 😂
Video idea: film a episode of retro hunting with a retro camera, or at least like the intro or the recap with one.
Love the "Son In Law" honorable mention. Old Pauly Shore movies are the best.
You're gonna have to rent out a space like that flea market for the $10 Game Collection here pretty soon lol
I think I died a little inside when he slid the Batman Detective Comics comic to look at a crusty Qui-Gon lollipop 😑
In good condition, that's a $200 book......but then again....Qui Gon!!!!
Me too
RIP Chester. Linkin Park was the besssssssssst, one of my first concerts
Be so cool to have an old obsolete claw machine filled with vintage plush toys !
Gotta come back to dedicate the time to go through all the dvd sections 😉
Love seeing all the retro stuff, but I wouldn’t wanna pay the flea market prices. They seem to always mark stuff either at eBay prices, or just a couple bucks cheaper.
"I gave my kids sports illustrated for kids, and they FOUGHT over it!"

The nostalgia is strong with this one
I definitely understand what you mean about how plushes are hard to figure out how to display. I was born in '07 and I fricking love the 90s
Like seriously this channel is one of the best. Nostalgia is life
The flea markets here all charge ebay prices, and they're basically junk. The good find is rare.
Same
Indiana aswell
LMAO your wife sounds like mine. Rick I scored a Sega Saturn 2 controller and 4 games this week as well as 2 Wii U. Your videos and Chase have got me back to collecting and selling. Being disabled it has allowed me to make a little extra income. Thank you!!

So many booths! Looks like Heaven!
love your vids bud! its like a time machine for me
I have 2 m&ms candy dispensers and a plastic gumball machine that actually takes quarters
Been watching your vids the past couple days an gotta say you make some awesome vids can’t wait to see you pass that million subscriber mark thanks
You inspired me to stop by a place on the way home from work. There were three new booths packed with figures. I got Tmnt, skeleton warriors, and Mighty Ducks. All below ebay prices.
"I haven't been to this booth in probably a year..." yeah, neither has the booth owner...
Man seeing those blank disc and you mentioning Napster just brought back all kinds of memories downloading Korn & Limp Bizkit albums off of Napster & WinMx! Dope video dude!
"If you're watching babe I love you so much" Great save! lol
Remember on Rosie O’Donnell Show she would launch Koosh Balls to the crowd!
Retro Rick, you are now one of my favorite UA-camrs of all time! I really love your channel! Please keep up the great work!
People are crazy with their prices nowadays. People think they have gold on their hands.
Retro Rick, if you don’t mind me asking, how are you able to visit flea markets at this time of the year? The flea markets in my town don’t happen until Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day.
Some of them might also be half consignment stores open all year..
As a kid Pee Wees big adventure was my favorite movie and I was able to talk my mom into buying me that doll at the store when I saw it I knew I had to have it.
My sister and I both had the peewee Herman doll. I still have both with drawstrings that still work.
Nice market indeed!
without even googling this place i know exactly where you were on this trip. I knew we are in the same state but did not know you would be visiting somewhere I have gone for item hunting.
Holy crap this channel was at 20k subs like 5 seconds ago! Congrats, man! You deserve it!
Sadly in the UK you pay Ebay prices everywhere. Flea markets and shops gone on eBay to get their prices :( love your content
I know it’s shite in the Uk init pal. 😔
Friggin awesome channel! Keep it up! Thank you for these amazing uploads!
The McDonald’s menu as you called it is actually a contest with a record that was the black square in the bag. You played the record and it had the chance to say you won. I’d have grabbed that for $3. I think it’s a neat piece.
Dude I would waste my wallet in that flea market. I’m a collector on some of the items you have passed. But as always thank you for the video.
I recently uncovered the thousands of baseball/basketball cards from my childhood (late 80s, early 90s). I know they are pretty much worthless but what would you do with them? I’m always looking for Spice Girls and Pokémon stuff at flea markets. I need to go soon
would of loved to see how much the jem and the holograms dolls where and no one on UA-cam ever looks at the dolls :( I wish the UK had these kind of places but I really like these videos :)
Coneheads and Beetlejuice! man that takes me back 😂
Here in Pennsylvania, we have a hot wheels section in flea markets
I can understand the pricing like that at a flea marker. Mark up a little bit. Much bigger than the country club flea market. Nice to meet you by the way.
Dang McGee and me. I used to watch all those videos back in the day. Totally forgot about that show.
I just listed that same giant first order storm trooper in my store, less than 5 hours ago. Strange days indeed.
11:14 Bad Dudes NES. That's a really good game.
I had that exact koosh ball ! Damn the feels !
You won't be stopping..get it brother.
14:14 Day one buy right there
So the vintage cabbage patch kids all have value and it wasn't just girls. Everyone I knew, boys and girls wanted and had a Cabbage Patch Kid. I still remember mine and brothers CPK names.
Rick was most certainly late. He did it for us.
Who knew 3 years later a new beetlejuice would be out. Love your stuff man
Hey Rick, that was a huge flea market alright lol.

Edit: Typically outdoors.
at 4:35 there are ps2 games on the bottom left of the shelf!
And brothers in arms xbox at 4:53
There is an entire cabbage patch doll fan and collector community 😂
4:00 Hot Wheels and diecast in general is very popular. Arguably more so than retro gaming
LMFAO the booth with the paper print out comparing hot sauce bottle prices like why😂
Star Trek is worth it to the right people, I collect select ones right now, once I can afford to I'll spread the net wider, $10 pushes it though.
I had that issue of SI for kids as a kid. Lol, forgot about those.
Cabbage patch dolls do have some value depending on the condition. I love those fluppy dog items you pass up. Man wish I could find those for my collection.
Plush is easy clear to white nets on ceiling display plush facing down
20:19 missed two Sonic McDonald's TV toys!
you have a turbo man ITS TURBO TIME!!!!
I think you missed some games at the bottom of that big shelf of movies that you didn’t have time to go through right at the end of that wall
the mcgee and me episode where they go on the double dare-ish show is a classic
I have almost the entire coneheads collection MIB. I think I’m missing one figure. I have all 4 comics that were produced and one is signed by the guy who did the artwork in the comic. Unfortunately the figures are worth nearly nothing even in the boxes. I got them just because I like the colors on the box and I thought the figures were funny
21:29 i hated those guys during the pilot but strangely i want to own those now
