Same here my bro he teached me to make them these videos are my childhood and he made me a fan of Friday the 13th and without him I wouldn't be same and he always cheers me up and cure my boredom
Took me years to do it! haha. Thank you. I thought now that my audience has grown since doing the original masks that maybe I should do updated versions of each. My techniques have evolved a bit as well, so it's fun to revisit these.
@@BigHush Well, because of some of your videos, I’ve experimented with some of my favorite themes and have so many creative ideas. I appreciate all your vids. Thanks.
Just need to say that I love watching all of your mask videos. The inspiration, motivation, and quality you do got me into a brand new hobby that I never knew was fun to do! I've made 3 masks so far using techniques you do and they came out great! Keep up these amazing videos and hope you have a great day!
I used Ivory Silk I believe it’s called for my part 3 and 4’s base coat and with just a little brown, it looked dead accurate. I never had the best with meringue but that’s just me
Hey BH, I always pull up your videos as references when I paint a mask. I am so super critical that it's hard to be satisfied with my work. I have followed your videos for years and YOU DA MAN! I use Krylon triple thick crystal clear glaze when I want shine. I never get any of the tiny burrs with it. Next time you hit Walmart give it a try. You won't be disappointed. It's not too pricey either as far as I'm concerned. Anyhow, thanks for all the videos and inspiration.
Great job on the mask. I can't believe how much it looks like the remake mask now. Excellent work my friend and now I'm gonna start making my own Jason Hocks, thank you for the inspiration and for taking the time to share with us on how to do these mask rehaul tutorials.
It’s always great to watch your videos. They’ve been a big inspiration for me when I made a couple of masks myself. I have a few more I’ll be working on soon, one of which will probably have more of a burnt look, and the another of which will probably fall somewhere in between “Never Hike Alone,” the lake bottom look, and either Part 7 or Part 8.
Great work, I am in awe of your creations. I'm watching you from France in Normandy. Me, a huge Jason fan. You revive my idol. Congratulations and a big thank you for sharing your videos with us. He's back! He's the man behind the mask And he's out of control He's back The man behind the mask And he crawled out of his hole Ki, ki, ki ma ma ma 👋👋👋👋🤩🤩
So basically Douglas white said that the original part 3 mask was Made out of clear plastic and was painted an off white on the front and back then was finished with a amber toned varnish and the chevrons are red acetate that are superglued onto the mask.
I always wondered when someone was gonna point out the oval holes at the bottom on cheap masks. There's also one particular hole no one ever gets right even on "exact" replicas.
@@BigHush I still appreciate your videos and all the effort regardless if the old masks are a little less accurate. You're out here showing people they don't need 100+ to have a good mask, they can just make make it themselves and test their skill. Ps that spot no one ever notices on the real part 3 is a misaligned hole above his right eye. It's drilled out off center to the hole below and above it. Plus drops lower than the others. I really have no clue if there's any truly accurate blank with that alignment. The overhead axe shot shows it well.
How do you actually find the circle ones? I look online and all I see are the oval shaped ones. It drives me nuts and it's really hard to tell sometimes
Your videos are awesome. You make it look so easy. I’m really struggling with the weathering. The paints just don’t look right when applying the browns etc. idk if the paint is correct. Or is any cheap paint ok? I want it to look dirty without looking over done.
Do you sell these? Not the plain white, I mean the worked up and completed Jason mask like you've done in this video? I love it and would love to use it as a prop in a short Fan Film I'm doing. Please let me know. Thanks. Great work!
HAPPY FRIDAY THE 13TH HUSH! Again You Knocked it outta the park, Thanks To You My Prt3s & 4s Look Sick!! 😍 Always, I Did OR do have a Request for you Bro!, I've Always heard The Exact Accurate film colored Mask Was Dover White!, & That it took on the Yellow or Meraingue look when they Aged it for the Film!, so I Finally found Dover @ Hobby Lobby, & IT looks AMAZING! could you Please Do a Tutorial using It? You'll Really be surprised Yourself!, it looks Great!, Thank you for taking the Time To show Others how to make AMAZING Jason Hock's
I saw that too. I bought Dover White a while back and also the the Italian varnishes they supposedly used for the aging and cracking effect. Only tested it once and the varnish was a pain with the curves of the mask. Pretty hard to apply without an airbrush or sprayer to use. BUT it would be fun to do the "official" process used on the film mask, so I need to revisit that! Meringue just made it a lot easier to save time lol. Thank you for watching!
Hi, New subscriber here, your work is really amazing. I have been inspired to give it a try . Since This is a whole new thing for me, Just have some doubts if you could help suggest. Will the statin almond work instead of Meringue? Also Any other colour you suggest instead of light brown? Thank you so much in advance.
I've had that happen then I realized I wasnt sanding the masks enough it really helps with that. When you spray the lacquer the paint has to have a rough texture to cling to
@@jerichomills5162 You are right. I been using the dremel versa, but I discovered a new tactic I would like to share. I realized that they make sandpaper with velcro backing. Got some 120 grit, and attached it to the versa head, and then cut the excess off. This easily takes care of the edges, around the snaps, the forehead, cheeks, and bottom parts. Then I hand sand the nose area. Havent had the issue since 👍🏻. Also the acrylic paint goes on so much better now. Thanks for the advice!!

Im inspired by big Hush I made the mask im wearing in my prfp the same way he showed us to make the masks so I gotta say thank u
I love this. I’ve used your part 3&4 video to make both. Really like that you made a separate for part 3.
Took me years to do it! haha. Thank you. I thought now that my audience has grown since doing the original masks that maybe I should do updated versions of each. My techniques have evolved a bit as well, so it's fun to revisit these.

Those oval holes used to drive me crazy. Many of my early mask videos have those and I wish they didn't

great work mate. couldntt find the meringue anywhere. online prices were ridiculously overpriced. any opinion on the satin almond?
Hi big hush i just wanted to ask will you do more premiere’s?
Possibly! Those sort of just happen at random if I have time to be present during a new post. But they are fun
@Big Hush, have you considered using Tamiya weathering master?
I can't remember the last time I commented this, but a Chucky mask would be super cool.
I agree. That would look pretty boss to have.

😊 thanks
As a person whos birthday is on the 13th day of a month, im making this mask so eventually my birthday is gonna be on Friday The 13th and ima wear it.
What color should the mask be painted?
Do you ever get a rippling or bubbling effect from the lacquer? I keep ruining my masks 😞
I've had that happen then I realized I wasnt sanding the masks enough it really helps with that. When you spray the lacquer the paint has to have a rough texture to cling to
