    We had a demonstration at tech school and BG had this additive called MOA that does this in cars. He used a bearing press and the bearing stopped with everything except the MOA. I used that in a car and lost my oil sending unit halfway out on a 1hr trip. Made it where inwas going, put oil in it, ran it back until 10m from home when it had no oil left and still made it home. One of the best products ive ever bought. I bet this product is a very similar product. The savings from bottom end repairs alone is worth it, but a cooler running crank and longer lasting crank bearings would be icing on the cake. The only problem i see is with the clutch and how that interacts with friction plate material. Thats the only thing that stops me from running BG MOA in my bikes. If this is safe for clutches, this is revolutionary

    Also Note the husqvarna 450 is the best bike to perform this test on as it has a single cam with bearings and not cam journals it would not last as long without the help of bearings in the top end.. try it honda , yamaha or suzuki 450. Try it on a husqvarna 350 or 250 and it will not come out as good for as long.

      all modern bikes for decades have bearings on the cam, just like the husky. I would assume a dual cam system would last longer not shorter as you have two cams to spread the spring load over, twice the surface area, twice the bearing area...

      @Motosportz I can understand where your coming from but I just can't agree, I have seen hundreds of broken down engines and goulded cam journals was the source of alot of major failures. • @hoerenj0ng141

    The obvious problem with this test is that you may well get the same result without additive and just high quality oil; i.e. we don't have a benchmark control. The other issue is that likely the bike will start to tune itself rich if it's getting crazy hot to protect from damage. In fact, it may do that from the get go if there is no coolant in there, not sure how it works with the coolant sensor on the husqy.

    Oil additives that are good for engines are usually bad for wet sump motorcycle clutches. Clutch plates work hard enough with regular oil but can really struggle to lock up with additives. • @danwilson6846
      @danwilson6846 Рік тому

      Clutch never slipped! The bike was so hot the cases expanded and needed more play on the clutch slave cylinder which brought the lever in to compensate.

    • @hoerenj0ng141
      @hoerenj0ng141 Рік тому +1

      @@danwilson6846 It's unlikely the cases expanding play into this at all, because the actuator rod passes through the drive shaft. More likely the clutch pack expanding has a bigger role, but this small amount should be easily taken up by the self adjusting hydroclutch without noticing anything at the lever. If the lever had to be pulled in further it may well be the slave cylinder seal starting to leak due to excessive heat.

    Infrequent exposure to short duration high heat dissipates fairly quickly without a significant decrease in longevity. Dont doubt the cooling efficiency of air when moving at speed. Riding a motorcycle at speed on a hot day is cooler then sitting in traffic. Theres a reason motocross bikes over heat in mud races and muddy enduros at slow speed. The duration of high temps is the killer. Even after this 1 day at the track, i guarantee the oil has been overheated and is now burned black. Basically any well maintained bike could take a day of this.

    Very interesting, and also very interesting comments. I think most negative comments are coming from people who think you are selling a product so you can now convert your outdated water cooled engine to air cooled efficiency. No one is suggesting this I don’t believe.., it’s just an insurance for when something DOES malfunction with your coolant system you “should” be able to finish your race AND “hopefully “ not destroy your engine in the process! Sounds like a great product as long as the clutch doesn’t suffer.., from what they say it isn’t supposed to be effective by this so….

    You've done something really wrong with this test that Jody should have flagged- you don't have a control bike! In other words, if you remove the cooling system from another bike and run it under the same conditions without the additive, would it perform differently, i.e., fail sooner? This is science 101. You've proved nothing about the product that costs $20 for 2 ounces. Really poor job of testing something.

Even if it did protect the bike better at higher operating temperature, so what? So would thicker regular oil, it still doesn't prove reduced wear at the intended operating temperature.
