      Probably too many😁. Some of that stuff we got our hands into in the early 90’s was some bad stuff.

    The bad thing about your experience is you'll probably never need to deal with that issue again, but it was fun while it lasted.

      What is the average cost of a for a truck to deliver fuel to that tank including surcharges and taxes? What is the minimum gallons of fuel most companies will deliver? If someone can't move their own tank full of fuel they are at the mercy of the fuel delivery companies not to mention a fuel truck pulling up to their door blows their opsec and may be safer and cheaper to discreetly get your own depending on your needs.

    Nice work, see! you are living right......the tank "just" fit into the garage without having to remove the vent pipe! LOL Ive never seen a spray painting job that didn't at least dust everything around the paint target. Lesson learned hopefully on the respirator.....not a good choice but I get the need to finish the job prepping that tank. Should give you many years of service. I also like how you safely tested the tip potential while tugging with ratchet strap. Suggest putting it under some sort of roof will prolong that life plus provide a more hospitable experience when/if something goes wrong at -20 and dark out! Also, Vents, valves, access ladder, and fittings are protected. Things I have found as a royal pain are: rain/thaw drip, pitch, dust, and chaff from overhead tree limbs on parked-, and stationary objects.... I dont know if all that is a factor where you are, just some thoughts.

      Thanks Bret. We will definitely be putting this under some sort of roof eventually. I went out and purchased a respirator for next time. Lesson learned. 😁

      We’re doing great, thanks for asking. Funny you should ask about Von, she is headed in to surgery tomorrow morning. Hopefully this gives her the relief she needs.

    😂I just shot a video, one part of it was dressing in layers to stay warm. Nice score on the tank and getting it dolled for its new home.
    It’s always nice to have family coming back.
    Ha, it’s hard to see your forks in those compact tractors.
    😂Painted cameras #youtubelife

      One of these days I’ll learn my lesson. I dress in layers when I’m out in the bush but generally blow it off when working. The forks are impossible to see unless you stand then the safety engages because your not seated.🤨. If I wouldn’t have taken the cameras and cleaned them when I did, they would be ruined. That epoxy paint is no joke. Look forward to your next video.

    Did metal filings get into the tank from drilling the holes where it would need to be flushed?

    • @wildwoodoffgridalaska
      @wildwoodoffgridalaska  3 роки тому

      Metal did get in the tank and a large magnet and diesel rinsed the tank out.

    i think you missed the juncture of the legs and tank. it sure appeared dark before you cut off the filming. if so, that is where dirt and moisture harbor and rusts through. i certainly hope you got it and my eyes were deceiving me.....................g

      I covered it after filming was finished I actually found some thins spots and went ahead and gave it another coat just to make sure it’s seal tight and ready for use.
