  • Our VERY FIRST video was a tour of our garden. Three years later after that video, it has evolved into an entirely new setup, which is why we're showing you all what it looks like in 2019! We've got a lot more in our garden to show in the future, so make sure you subscribe to stay updated. : )

I love the idea of planting under and around the trees and using the straw bales too. I use raised beds because of back issues, saves on the back for sure! BTW, do you guys eat the sweet potato leaves? We do, along with the carrot tops and beet greens in our salads. Glad to see your back! :-)

Just a couple of thoughts , if your using compost and worm castings then you wont need fertilizer.. You said you want to let your garden rest after 7yrs. I built a straw bale garden for a good friend in Oregon USA. a few years back. we did 3 bales by 4 bales, had our garden on the inside, and used the actual bales for Herbs, Strawberries, & peppers & squash on top, When the bales broke down I made her 2 raised beds from the outside of the bales, used the bales and compost for the beds.. Plenty of goodness for we didn't have to let beds rest. Companion Planting and of course crop rotation helps. Just a couple of thought. How often will you be bringing out video's in the future?? Keep safe & at home in these troubled times..

Great video, very inspiring! Thank you. I wonder if anyone could give me some information regarding how safe it is to use the land where round up was used to kill the grass. Without knowing of the dangers of round up we used it on a big portion of our garden to kill the couch grass years back. As we found out how bad it is for our health, we have not used the garden to plant any vegetables or fruits. I would appreciate if anyone could give any information what we can do to restore the damage , or if after certain time the chemical dissipates ...if at all??

I have bales I beleive to have had one or more herbicides used in in weed treatment . . THE conditioning was unlike the four past years and a dozen pepper plants haven't progressed period. Any leaves that have touched the bale turns black.
I have seen accounts and cautions and I suspect its common. Ive contacted my state extension service hoping to get help in identified the chemical used but they suggest the cost is orohibitive. Im taking tgem to the dump.

I loved your presentation, you are a very great presenter. A natural on camera, and a very concise delivery. If you message or email me your address, I'd love to send you a little gift box with a couple signed copies of my books and a box of BaleBuster you can use next time. This is just a little thank you for the work you've done to promote the Straw Bale Gardens method. No worries it is shelf stable for up to three years. Great job on the video!
