This is probably true. I didn't end up a doctor, but his character did legitimately inspire me to study more in school.

It blows my mind how he amazingly killed the american accent for all those seasons.
It really is insane. I was actually stunned when I found out he wasn’t American. He only slips up noticeably once in all of his episodes, where you can hear a little of his real accent slip through. Besides that nothing. Apparently he was so into that role he had trouble walking without a slight limp for a while after. That kind of mental dedication would explain the great accent.
Back then I thought I heard his British accent when House randomly sang at some point and I was like ‘wait is he not American?’ 😂😂😂

Not weird at all, he is british. He was quite well known long before house, Blackadder was famous internationally.
I dont get it, this is gonna sound condescending but its been almost TWENTY years since House first aired, all it took was a quick IMDB search back in 2004 to find out, voila!
