This item is supposed to be Quality 4, it shouldn't be able to delete items. This is why I never use Eternal D6.

I love how modders have completely given up on making dice items that could actually be rolled. If you tried to roll the Sacred Die IRL it’d just kinda fall over due to the cross on top.
Very amusing imagining Isaac just tossing it on the ground and waiting for something to happen.
haha that's true! Someone on Reddit also noted that it will only be able to land on 4-5 sides really. But that also kinda makes sense, as you're re-rolling the 5 different item qualities. I didn't think about that when making the sprite tho, so that's just a fun coincidence lol.

But... to use dice... you need to... throw it and there's a... cross at... the top, so... it doesn... uhh...
This is just as powerful if not, more powerful than spin down die. It isn’t like eternal d6 where it’s a huge gamble to reroll. You are almost always gonna get better items than what you used to get. And even if you are unlucky, you can still get something like glitched crown or sacred heart to carry your run.
Agree, it's probably second only to Blighted Dice as a reroll item
fair point but i think one of the most powerful things about spindown dice is how it effectively guarantees certain items. like, no matter what run you're on, you'll always have the blood donation machine --> bloodbag --> brimstone line, or the boss room --> toothpicks --> sacred heart line. I agree that this is probably more powerful, but i honestly might still prefer spindown :P

fun lore:when using this on a file of mine that is still in progress i discovered that sacred dice LITERALLY bypasses locked items..you can still get some crap like flip or death certificate despite not having it unlocked at all

It seems very strong, probably more than a little OP, but I really like it.
Just in case, as you didn't show it in the video. Did you check if the dice requires one of it's effects to happen for a unique book of virtues wisp to spawn? Or if this isn't the case it'd be cool if it created a lemegeton wisp of the destroyed item when loseing.
nope, we didn't code a unique book of virtues effect for it. but it could be a neat idea for an update in the future :)
I've been try for SO LONG to get sacred orb and the closest i've gotten was the second horseman phase on the beast fight. Does anyone have any tips/ items i should unlock. Right now i'm trying to get damocles bcause I know that would work.

I really don't like Chaos- it essentially means throwing out any semblance of control and entrusting the run entirely to RNG. But the Sacred Dice seems like a decent compromise with a lot of potential!
Isaac modders when they recolor the d20, slap some shitty “angelic” stuff on it and make it the most broken and stupidly insane thing possible (it will get 500 billion downloads while talented devs who work hard end up ignored entirely)

I'm so sick of the fandom's obsession with the quality system/OP items.
heya! to be fair this was just our very first attempt of creating anything, as we were modding for the first time. The Sacred Dice was also not nearly as strong when we first launched it, but many many people complained that it needs to be buffed to be considered as a Q4 item. I guess people just want really op items that guarantee a win lol, but in the end we really just wanted to create something new to test out how things work.

yes. You basically have the same chance of losing the item overall but moe chances to boost it.

It sounds too powerful. I think the chance should be 50/50 like the crooked penny or at least the same chance as the eternal d6 does, which does kind of downgrade the item to Q3 but I think that sounds more balanced

Seeing you reroll sacred heart and brimstone caused me actually pain
I think this is neat in concept, but does a little too much for just one active.
Instead, I'd just have it upgrade the quality or delete. No Chaos effect, no quality down.
I think a seperate dice that had Chaos effect and could potentially downgrade would make for a nice addition. Pair both with Backpack or one with another dice and you can get these kinds of shenanigans that are a lot more simple and a lot more fun.
