  • Taylor Momsen brings all the heart and guts to this unplugged rendition of "25", and it blows Mike & Ginger away.

Taylor Momsen right? She's so powerful that her voice just goes straight to your heart. She has one of those voices that are perfect for rock and roll, and what I love about these voice is that even though we find similarities between them, the artists make sure that they sound unique. For me that's the case for Taylor Momsen, Lzzy Hale and so many other artists in the last, I don't know, 15, 20 years. Rock on folks! 🤘🏿🤘🏿🤘🏿

Yeah, this song (and the entire album) came from a very dark period in her life and while the album version and video is fantastic, this unplugged version brings out the emotions even more. The Pretty Reckless was on tour with Soundgarden at the time when Chirs Cornell passed away and she has spoken about how that nearly broke her, she had hugged him goodbye outside the venue where they played and woke up the next day to the news that he died. And shortly after that when she wanted to make music again, the bands produced and one of her closest friends Kato Khandwala was killed in a motorcycle accident. She have said that she spiraled down in such a dark place that she didn't know how or even if she wanted to get out of it and that if it wasn't for music she wouldn't probabvly be here today.
The entie album Death by rock-n-roll is pretty much a journey of trauma and healing. Entire album deserves a full playthrough, and I think it's one of those albums you should listen to in one go. But for the next video perhaps you could try "Rock-n-roll heaven", and remember that she was 27 when she wrote that song, it hits even harder then. There are no official video for it, but this one is a pretty good fan made lyric video with real footage that ties the theme of the song together nicely ua-cam.com/video/8ORd_Lv8E2E/v-deo.html

She stood side by side with two othe vocal giantesses on a cover of "We Will Rock You," Lzzy Hale of Halestorm and Maria Brink of In This Moment. You should check that out. It's pretty beastly.

The vocals on the album sound the same. She has one of, if not the best voice in Rock right now!

Very James Bond, including the line "live to Die Another Day." And the line about not sure of life past 21 - the 21st film is when Bond was considered possibly done by studios, outdated and the Daniel Craig films suddenly took over for Pierce Brosnan to try changing course (with great success). "Reflected in the barrel of a gun" ...It's just gotta be a proposal for a Bond theme.

I prefer her unplugged stuff, the band is good, but distracts from how good her voice is
