Superb video ! These pistols are notoriously tricky to reassembly, and this video is a great help to all who own one ! I had not had mine apart in 5 years, and was thankful for this video.
Almost 3 years after this video was made, I found it. You sure make reassembly look easy! I spent more than an hour trying to get my wartime commercial back together. The sear and sear spring have a tendency to fall out when trying to get everything put back together. Or, if I have those under careful control, something else decides to go for a walk. Anyway, thanks for the informative video series.
been there
6 years after this video was made I used the complete disassembly and re-assembly to be a great wealth of information in a project C96 I bought and wanted to build from parts.
The original owner had put that Rocker Coupling in backwards. The "disastrous consequences" He speaks about is that it's VERY hard to remove once installed wrong.
Now the only real problem I have is that the hammer barely stays cocked back. I think I need a new hammer. I have replaced (with new parts) the 2 other parts that release the hammer.
Thanks for the series guys.
I purchased a v. clean late Model 1937 (Ser. #910867) with little apparent usage. Indeed, while cleaning and learning about the new pistol, I found so little wear (good!) that the rocker assy removal and assembly was a challenge due to the tight tolerances in my particular C96. When it came time for the hammer pivot I had to give up, as despite using a "break free", it wouldn't budge and I didn't want to snap the spring steel "wishbone". Good enough for cleaning and lubrication purposes. The locking tab is also very tight.
So, while it's nice to know I have a very lightly-used Mauser, it is hard on the fingers! Looking forward to some shooting with it again soon.
Awesome. Our pleasure! Love to see that model!
Nice job, I learn a lot of this gun. Soon I'll aplicate your teaching in disassembling and reassembling one of that.
Love you sir. thanks for upload this video. I am from Pakistan. thanks again
Nice piece
GREAT SERIES !!
Thank you!
Thank you
You got it!
Wondering where I can find the syringe oil needle use in the video maybe a link where to buy?
Sir! thank you so much for that.. i really enjoyed your videos.. bt i don't have anythings like that..
Indeed, i optimist ..🙋
I cannot get the locking block (a replacement) to stay in long enough to get the pistol back together. Since it is replacement part, can you give me guidance as to where and how to fit the locking block?
It took me hours to get that done.
I finally got that to work by a small amount of shaping on the locking block where it contacts the spring keeper. However, now the trigger is apparently not pressing on the sear to fire the pistol and I can't see what is misaligned. Any suggestions? Thanks
Mike MICHAELS my guess is the dead just isn’t touching it because something got shaken a tad loose during reassembly
Sir, I want to buy original spare parts of this pistol. From where I can buy?
Generally parts websites are your friend.
