I own the Sthl MS291 bought it about 14 years ago. When I used to cut post & poll, & firewood for a living, back in the rocky mountains, of Salmon Idaho. Its the only chainsaw I still own, I used to have 4 saws my MS291, & 3 Husqvarna's, the Rancher 455, Rancher 460, Husky 372XP. My 372XP was an absolut beast. But I broke my back 5 years ago, & can no longer work labor jobs. So I sold all my Husqvarna saws, & kept my Sthl ms 291 because my father brought it for me as a Xmas present.
Good morning Johnmajka , I am sorry to hear about your back that sounds amazing. I have never been to mid west or the west coast. I love that you kept the 291 because its from your dad! Thank you johnmajka for taking time out of your day to not only watch but to tell me a bit about yourself. Joe
Word od advice on the 271 please remove the muffler and please drill a bigger exhaust hole because their burning up inside and returning them like no one's business. I find that there cooking up on the exhaust side of the piston. So please take my advice. Their way to expensive not to
Good evening Leoramirez thank you so much I will let my buddy know that isn’t my saw! I removed the “ baffles” on the front of my 291 but I will see about drilling making the holes bigger.. Thank you so much for the information and watching Joe
Hi Joe, hope all is well! Yes at the time it felt faster but when I put the stop watch to it is when I saw the difference! Not really sure if it would matter in real life both saws are great. Thank you Joe , for watching and commenting. Joe
I have enjoyed my 291 for about 10 years. I've cut I don't know how much wood with it. I am glad I went with it over the 271. The 271 seems to be a good saw but the 291 just cuts a bit faster.
Good morning Dellgregg, yes I’m very happy with the speed of the MS 291 compared to the Farm Boss 271. Dellgregg thank you very much for taking time out of your day to not only watch but to comment with review of your saw! Thank you again Joe
Good morning backyardmechanic , I really like both! To be totally honest I really have yet to run a chainsaw I do not like. Im still learning so every saw I run I seem to like LOL. Thank you backyardmechanic for not only taking time out of your day to watch but to comment as well. Joe
@@Orefamilylawncare the 271 is my friends saw and the 291 is my saw, both him and I are regular homeowners! For us these are good saws I would like to get another STIHL in the future. Thank you Orefamilylawncare for taking the time out of your day not only to watch but to comment as well. Joe
@@joesoutdoorexperience yes sir id say for the work you are doing you would benefit from a more professional saw. 261 is a good choice. I have 362 it's ok. My 400 is much better than the 362 if you look on my channel I have a video of milling with my 500i. The 500i does well but if you are milling I'd probably say step up to the 881 maybe 🤷. Dollar for Dollar the 400 is probably the best bang for the buck.
@@Orefamilylawncare well I really do appreciate the information Orefamilylawncare! The MS400 looks like a pretty bad🫏 saw.. I’m going to have to wait until after Christmas to even think about that saw 😂😂. All jokes aside thank you I will have to do some more research, I am still fairly new at cutting and clearing trees.
Good afternoon Vicsyard, yes we moved to NC but originally from LI! My family has property in Unadilla. Thank you very much VicsYard for taking time out of your evening to not only watch but comment as well. Joe

Желаю вам востановится насколько это возможно.
Wild the difference and it’s so much better than what I had been using!
Yes they are both great saws so much faster then my RYOBI'S I started with LOL!

Nice comparison review Joe . Both seem to be really good saws . 👍🏻🪵
Good morning Del, good thing I was in studios this never came across my phone. Thank you very much !
No offense but you weren't even pusing on the 271 like you were the 291. I own the 271 and i know it can do better than that just being honest
Good morning Dan non taken! I believe I was as fair as possible. My 291 bit into the log a bit more than the 271!
Thank you for watching

Maybe a weight difference and 6cc`s but still a good saw

They both are slow. For the money a 261 is a better option over either of those.

The 291 does cut faster.
Good evening Cliff , thank you very much! Yes when I put the stop watch on it was very noticeable.
