Ryan Poles Deserves A Lot Credit For Those 5 Draft Picks
Why are you capitalizing every word 😅
And ian cunningham!!
@danilthorstensson8902 are you a teacher?
When Tory Taylor routinely pins the opposing by team on their own 10 yard line. Having the opposing team go the length of the length of the field over and over again. No one is going to care they spent a 4th round pick. Field position matters more than a developmental special team contributor
He can also tackle from playing Rugby. Win win
Im sure the new kickoff rules play a part as well
I love the pick....
This is why I have no problem spending a 4th on the guy if he's that good. Absolutely 0 problems...sometimes 4th rounders don't even make the team
In college we had a Punter who lead the conference in Average yards a punt with like 47 yards, he changed games the way he flipped the fields. I miss having a great punter like Brad Maynard
I'd rather have one of the best punters in football than some random guy who doesn't work out for three years and we let him go
People sleep in how much of an advantage it is to pin down your opponent inside the 10 yard line. Couple that with punting from your own 10 and having the opponent start from their 30 instead of theor 45.
If we have this punter last year we would be picking lower in the draft.
I'm cool with it because we essentially locked up the punter position for 15 years now and it basically always makes one phase of our special teams top tier.
The only thing I need to know regarding how well Poles is doing is that we finally have Packers fans going, "Uh-oh. Chicago looks like they might be a problem." Now we need to coach everyone up and win some games. We finally have a change to be competitive. Wow.
5 picks with 3 starters ! It’s an A for sure for the Bears !
A++++ grade we got players for the future. I think Austin Booker is going to be a sneaky starter.
This was a transformational draft for our franchise. 🐻 freaking down baby!!!!!
Definitely A+…especially with only 3 picks in the top 100. Taylor and Booker were icing on the cake…GOOD JOB RYAN POLES!!!
Bears fans like braxton jones. He has given us way more than what we expected. We were down on the center position. And the fact that we had no decent backups after everyone on the line eventually got injured.
something to consider is that with a potentially high powered offense for a change, they may not be punting much. but, special teams are so important. When Devin was playing, our average field position was the 44 yard line. Insane. So a gr8 punter is pretty important and making the opponent start deep in their own end time after time wares 'em down a bit.
Another angle I like to consider is this - when the bears do inevitably have to punt, their opponents will in average end their drives further back, thus putting our offense in better field positions on average, setting up Williams to succeed even more in his rookie year.
We are one offseason away from completing the rebuild. We still need to complete the D line. Adding Booker was a great project move but still need more D line help.
Booker projects to be a starting DE. He should have stayed in school for one more year.
Super excited for this upcoming season
Don't mind the 4th pick ( Punter ). I have seen many 2nd round picks in the trenches by the Bears , not make it out of camp. If he is as good as advertised , no worries
So basically if the Steelers play Justin 51%, then we essentially traded Fields for Booker. I like it! Lol
You're thinking properly.
Big IF
No guarantee Booker even makes the team. I know odds are he does but still. Justin's contract was one of the main reasons they let him go- but I think he's 10x better than Russ and soon enough Steeler fans will realize that
@@intmailmcbrother what 😭😭 Booker is absolutely a lock to make the roster.
@@intmailmcthe main reason they let Fields go was cause he was a QB that every qb needy team passed on and whose value was only worth a 6th round pick and the Bears were ready for a reliable consistent quarterback who actually wanted to be here. Oh yeah- also that next years contract that he absolutely did not deserve.
The Bears 2024: The “Greatest show” on non-turf.
Poles looks like a legendary GM right now with the moves he's made. I hope Bears fans remember the way we feel about him today and exercise some patience while we develop chemistry on the field! It's gonna be fun watching these Bear Cubs grow! 🔥
Amazing what a competent and cerebral former football player as a GM can do for our Bears team. Poles did a bang up job with this draft. Sure he got lucky at #9 but everything that has happened is a result of him and Cunningham and the staff making good decisions last year that led up to this years great outcome. Where Ryan Pace was impulsive just to make a splash, Poles is thoughtful, well informed, patient and smart. I'm the most excited about the team since Jim Finks and Bill Tobin (RIP) where in charge. A+ draft this year and I'm rooting for the UFA kid from James Madison Jamree Kromah to make the team, his RAS score is really impressive and on par with guys that got drafted late first round.
Sure
Putting in football is just as important as golf…he is a punter that is as accurate as most putters in golf! 109 punts inside the 20 yd line in 3 years at IOWA
I was puzzled when we took the Punter, but the Austin Booker pick combined with our previous draft picks gives us an A+ draft.
Solid draft for the Bears. Tough to compare to other teams until actual games are played . Based only on past Bears drafts and team needs the grade is A. 🐻⬇
Keith Randolph looks good and could be a real steal as an undrafted signing
He might make the practice squad. As it should be, because this team is far more talented.
Yall killed me at the end
What I like is Caleb sent Tory message that he won’t be needed as he will never have to punt. Exciting times for our bears. I think we are a year or two away from competing for a Super Bowl, but I see this team making the playoffs in year one. And who knows what could happen from there. Me myself, I’d be happy to see them in the playoffs at the very least this year .
Caleb reminds me of Joakim Noah. A bit eccentric, but a dawg once game starts.
Yes they did and we bears fans are eternally thankful to Lovie. The last 10-6 coach till date ..
I can’t wait for the upcoming season
They killed UDFA tho!!!!!
None will make the 53.
@@jking440 that 3 tech from Illinois will I put money on that!!!!
@@jking440 at least 1 has made it the last 2 years.
@reggiecheeze8336 And the talent on the team was a lot worse then. Even Poles said it would harder to make this team, so the "trend" of 1 making it the last 2 seasons doesn't hold weight.
@@jking440 it holds plenty of weight because the ones who made it ie Sanborn & Bagent were actually decent/good. A d-lineman has a great opportunity
One year away from a complete rebuild. Keep building the line and we’re set!!
3 top in their position starters and 2 guys with high potential? We did darn goo
For most fans of the Chicago Bears the first thing the Bears need to do is to dominate Green Bay. That will be the first test of this new team the Bears are building.
They took a SEC Tackle last yr
Exactly ❤
Who remembers when the Chargers drafted LT and Drew Brees and changed their franchise forever? This feels like this kinda moment.
How exactly did Brees help the Bolts?
Why do Bears fans think you can’t find starters in the 4th round?? 😂😂
You can. If we’re talking subjective factors, like # of seasons or games starting, statistical performance, Pro Bowls, etc. 1 in every12/13 guys selected in the fourth round will become solid nfl starters based on the above criteria. In contrast 1/2 of all first rounders and 1/3 of 2nd rounders match that criteria.
You can. The odds are stacked against you though.
So let’s go get him
Best draft & free agency picks I’ve ever seen. Go Bears
A lot of Dominant rush edgers play on the left side our best rusher plays on the left side so I don’t mind Darnell Wright being our best tackle
Braxton, still has a problem with the bull rush
Can some1 tell Ken he's saying Odunze wrong? Lol
I like him but he says names wrong all the time.
Going to be an exciting NFC NORTH
They had the picks in the right spots and didn't screw them up. I don't know if that's winning the draft but it's winning the Bryce Young trade.
True
Alex If you drink three of them you'll be rattling like an old tractor 😂
Best TE DUO and WR TRIO
My guys
I hope that this part of the season, the expectation part, will be relegated to its proper place as the team actually has a successful season and wins.
We just had a draft , this show should of been a Hour long.
Yes Bears had the best draft of anyone
We did my opinion
8 picks & 6 starters = DAMN! 🐻⬇️
5 picks
@@islandmaaan1115 If you consider the 3 picks they traded for Sweat, Allen and Bates, then they are correct.
Odunze - ( Oh-Dune-Zay )
Ttnl. Is a great channel. They do the best tape breakdowns.
Poles 3rd year. Enough said.
This man really traded back for nothing but I still give you a B- gray
Ken, my guy. We're gonna have to get bros name right. It's pronounced:
Oh•Dune•Zay
👊🏽🐻⬇️
Oh baby, the amount of money this man is gonna make now we deserve to scrutinize
As far as punter at 4th rd, ill trust poles over you.
Did any other team seemingly change the entire coarse of their century-old-franchise history??? How anyone could say anyone but the bears is blind and dumb
But at that point, they were both being normal people and cheering for our person to
Pickens on a rookie deal allowed them to let go of Justin jones and that crazy money he would
Up getting
Paid without blinking an eye. That’s what that was about .
Kiran Amegadjie was drafted targeting Kevin Jenkins and Davis. Ryan post said as much in his press conference. I don't know why it's so hard for people to listen to him. I guess listening is truly an art form
Kieran projects as a starting Lt. you might try to play him at lg and have Tevin play RG, but Kieran is aimed at the Lt position ultimately. Much different prospect than Braxton for one he chose Yale over Wisconsin and OSU. Would have been a second round pick if he didn’t get hurt.
@@TheSjuris did you not listen to Ryan Poles?? The only way this kid will be left tackle will be in case of injury as a fill in, or in Braxton decides the contract offered isn't enough.
@@davidtibbs0701 do you understand that you don’t pay the 18th best Lt in the game any kind of money? Give him a 2 year extension at league minimum or say bye-bye. Kieran projects as a potential top 5-10 Lt which is significantly better than Jones. Kieran isn’t ready right now. Jones isn’t worth an extension.
They NEED to Beat Green Bay consistently!
Good luck with that
@ttaylor758 okay cheesehead go ahead and check out packers from 1968 to 1992
I think just by getting rid of Fields that will help to keep your OLINE healthier. Justin is a great athlete but is also a nightmare for the OLINE.
GO BEARS 🧡💙🏈🐻⬇️🙌🏾
Everything was a celebration until they say we are still behind the fucking packers. I am so done fucking losing the the god damn packers.
Man wait until they pay a down
Remember when all you idiots in the comments thought Josh was making it up when he said Fields was getting traded? Saw those comments in here for months.
Go reward Josh with a suckie.
They will win 4 games tops
Dom Rob never learned to contain the edge, and stop chasing the fakes. DROVE ME NUTS!!!
but we still have Eberflus...
The guy who doubled his win total from year 1 and also took over defensive play calling and had a top 10 unit by the end of the season....yeah they still have him.
Good job Adam…ama-med-G
I hate this show, and it's hard to listen to it, with dudes like this questioning a pick that we need.
This dude is absolutely the worst, and Ken is acting like this dude is a sage talent evaluator
Congrats Pittsburg on your 2027 QB
The fingerprinting mommy cry boy. Chicago should change their name to the crybabies and move to key west.
Another cheesehead here?
Bears management and coaching suck as always. different GM never matters. They just traded a good quarterback that played with no help around him. Had they kept him the Bears could have won the NFC this year with the trades they added. No longer a Bears fan.
@johnroger Trust me, you won’t be missed! SEE YA!!!!!
Let it go. Good QB's don't get traded, let alone for a 6th round pick.
good go please
Cheeseheads are worried!
There was literally NO MARKET for him. The Falcons signed a qb for 180M coming off acl surgery and still didnt take their hometown kid. Darnold and Minshew were signed over him. Enough said.
Kiran "I'm a God, G."
