Thank you very much I always consider the starter (the location) as the weakness, since you can’t even tap it / test it without major digging. But Yeah, it’s probably pretty sketchy having your breaks go out.
Ugh, I’m going to have to get to the starter one of these days. But yea there’s some polling about this on Ih8mud. Unfortunately it seems looks a pretty common wear item for high mileage LCs
@@JungleCatt granted mine had tons of miles, so can’t complain in that respect, but when it went out, it gave me no prior warnings. It just didn’t start. Knowing that now, I would just have swapped it at high miles while it was in a convenient place, versus getting stranded. Heed the warning…
Nice video. I have a 2004 with only 72k miles and my break light just came on. I’m trying to locate the issue. Question: what is the normal duration of the booster during pump activation? Mine runs for about 5 seconds (audible) with each pump of the break. Thanks in advance.
Turn the car off and press the brake 40 times to let all the pressure out of the system. Turn the key to the “on” position (without the engine running so you can hear). It should run between 30-40 seconds
But if you have a brake light only an no buzzer, it’s probably not an issue with brake pressure. Also, your LC is super rare with such low miles! Unicorns like that sell at a big premium!
@@JungleCatt Thanks for your prompt reply. I have first-hand experience with the loud "siren" that goes off in the cabin when the booster fails! I drove a 2000 LC for 300k miles and had to replace the booster ($$) at around 200k miles. This time just the brake light is on. Fingers crossed! PS. I'm the second owner at 65K miles, no rust (and I had to pay a premium!)
@@JungleCatt Thanks, Jungle Catt. I originally tried the brake pumping technique to drop the pressure, but almost immediately encountered a "hard stop" on the peddle (4 or 5 pumps) and concluded I was no longer moving fluid. I will re-attempt the 40 - press and see if I encounter a difference. Thanks again!
Excellent video on Land Cruiser 120 brakes booster failure and fix.
Very interesting! Happy to know how it works. Thanks!
Helpful! Thanks.
Thank you very much

Nice video, How much does the flush cost in Toyota?
Brake. "Break" goes with broken.

@@rtrco8200 As another idea, check your abs / wheel speed sensors. When those are broken (unplugged) the abs light comes on with no buzzer.
