I just wanna say I absolutely love this. The song resonates so on point with the themes of the show and was an amazing choice. It also really does a good job sort of capturing the feeling of the show’s finale, where it’s horrific but also hopeful. Aaa I love this so much!
incredibly good. the verses you chose for anthy and utena are so well done to depict the differences in the roles akio plays for each. i also really like utena’s final shot being the swords of hatred approaching while anthy’s is her leaving - it fits so well with the “reset” lyrics and the nod to their looped story while still portraying anthy’s escape and the way they changed each other. incredibly done!!!!
Just came across this and this might be one of my favorite Utena AMVs -- nice solid metaphorical use of the footage all the way through yet somehow you kept a throughline that ends nicely with Anthy escaping her submissive life. It's cool to see you subtly alter things like the way Anthy's dress falls and the use of curtains to accentuate the symbol fills. Really intentional and really good :D!

oh… OH I was introduced to Montaigne through this song being on a Spotify RGU playlist a couple years ago and I’m sure now that it was on there because of this AMV. That song and album had a huge impact on me so this is oddly full circle to see now. There are several god-tier RGU amvs, after seeing this once I feel that it is absolutely among them. I don’t think you could have chosen more appropriate clips for every single lyric and the narrative arc that you created with this is stunning and reminded me of everything I loved about this show. Beautiful work.
