I am a Texas resident. My lawyer failed to appear once ON THE SAME DAY THAT THE PLAINTIFF ATTORNEYS MISSES COURT THE SECOND TIME IN A ROW.
He failed me all along the way. He literally threw the case. He wanted $1800 to start defending my civil bank debt, then when I said, "Wow, I've had 3 attorneys want to charge me $3,000, $6,000 and $10,000. Instead of maintaining his price, he said, "Let's split the difference, then. I'll charge you $2,300." My eyes went wide in disbelief. I was waiting for a nonexistent punchline.
That was within the first 5 to 15 minutes of meeting him for the first time.
It continued on just like that. Failure after failure, non-contact after non-contact, lie after lie.
He lost the case for me on last Thursday, 7 days ago. He's no longer my attorney of record.
Yesterday, he said he'd represent me on appeal for almost $16,000, twice the amount of the debt. But he said it was inwinnable.
    Well... maybe for him.
But my new attorney doesn't think so.

What if the attorney take himself off the case before you file a grievance???
