There is beauty there,in that place.
The humor, the power of line, the power of how it influences future generations to create not the same, but something else entirely, the evolution of a genre that strives to call out to the cartoonists of the world to continue, and perhaps, create the new iconography.
    And it happens!

Never knew much about this strip---I was raised on Pogo. Learned a lot and really enjoyed it. Nicely done.

No problem -- it doesn't beat seeing this great artwork in person, but I hope that it can still be appreciated.

    What I often wonder is,
what became of Calvin when he grew up?
Did he retain some of his spirit, the best part of it, or did he lose it along the way?

I'd like to believe he defied the odds and retained the better part of it!

This is Tom, not Sandra. Why did Mr. Watterson not give Calvin a last name. Susie has a last name and Miss Wormwood is named with last names. Why didn't Mr. Watterson not give Calvin and his parents last names? Just wondering.

It's hard to say, but Wattrrson named the main characters for the 16th-century theologian John Calvin and the 17th-century English philosopher Thomas Hobbes.

If you watched this video, you basically read the whole book minus the interview
