@@saurabh88648 You'd be used to it after a week. Just get a blender and drink (using a special squeeze bottle -- one for food and one for hydration) usually provided by doctor, I do NOT recommend using straws but its up to you because the sucking can cause discomfort or bend the wires depending on the force. I blended soups either canned or from restaurants, you can use smoothies between, but you're def gonna lose weight & get winded quicker, I dropped almost 10 lbs. After the body adjusts to the new diet, you should be able to better maintain it over the course of your treatment. Make sure you brush and pick food out of the wires with a small kids toothbrush and those brush picks (like what people with braces use) for hard areas (your teeth and doctor will love you).
Hey....I am currently on Day 28 . But doctors have removed wires for a week just to make the jaw functional and movable. But my teeth are not overlapping properly. Doctor said it will take 15 days... How are you now? Do you feel any difficulties in chewing food?
@@keep_hustling I am good now since it has been a year however my condyle never went back into the socket so Im working off the opposite joint but still utilizing both jaw muscles. The difference I had was that my teeth did slightly misalign & when I open my mouth it kinda leans to the affected side a bit. Over time the discomfort of not opening your mouth for a while goes away, you just have to keep working the muscles as it gets used to opening the mouth again.
I start by placing all the wires , I don't twist them I just place all of them then I put the arch bar and start to twist from frontal to molar , with every twist I make sure with a surgical pincette that the wire is going to the pocket of the tooth . We work with low quality material twisting the wires takes a lot of time if I twist little to mush it just break off and I have to repeat again
Try to more extend wires before you use it. Take it in a two instruments who holds them securely ,place your hand over and behind the head and pull. Do it for a couple of times and the wire will become more elastic, then cut it to a desireble lenght. Do not use more then 0,5 wire if you dont have it then 0,4.
I've had jaw surgery for two breaks I'm trying to understand how they put the bar on jaw I didn't have a cut through jaw to really understand that part
tengo esas mismas cosas en mis dientes desde una semana atrás , estoy esperando la cirugía en que se basara ? me harán algún cambio en mis mandíbulas me aterra saber que tengo fracturado la mandíbula inferior y no saber que me harán
I also just came out this last week. Seems it’s old tech as they completely ignore where the condoyle sits in the joint. How is your opening now? I’m still just 27mm and been 9 days since removal of arch bar.
@@moonlitsky5744 I spend a month with the arches. Must be 2 week.Almost sued that doctor. I always thought something was wrong. I have been rehabilitation the opening of my mouth for a month, it was at 5mm , now i have it at 22mm. Already feel in the paradise! 🌴
@@Gi_Ar I also thought that, but I remember I signed something just before surgery… I had really tight elastic bands for almost 7 weeks, they refused to see me at 6 weeks. It was done at a public hospital in Perth, Australia. Whenever I have a concern they ask me to go to general practitioner or ED, it’s ridiculous that they show no interest with your concerns of their own procedure. I mentioned in my 4 week follow up my jaw has never been this far back, but nothing was done to loosen up my elastics or address that. These are qualified ex dentists who have no understanding of the basic concepts I learnt off UA-cam in a month (E.g. centric relation ) Now I have stuffy ear as the condoyle was just shoved against the ear canal, and I’m really scared of tinnitus for life. Did you also suffer any other complications?
@@moonlitsky5744 my archbars were removed but I still can't open my mouth more than a half centimeter. my teeth hurts like hell. can we connect to share knowledge and advice, please.
@@jahangiry How long ago did you have them removed, and how long were they on for? I was also stressed when they first removed them, thinking I could open wide and eat like normal. It takes a few weeks (with really light exercises, don’t force it) to be able to open normally (Not as wide as before, but to gain normal function)
Thanks for teaching me a new skill at this late age which I can use for growth...thank u very much doctor for making imf so simple ❤
got beat up by 3 guys and they broke my jaw while doing my laundry 5 weeks ago. unwiring today!!!! fOOooood! Doctors are amazing!!!!!!!!!
omg, that was the best day ever when I broke my jaw 7 years ago and had it wired for 5 or 6 weeks!
Hey, how did you eat or drink after this happened?
@hateswhitewhales
Does internal wiring is only sufficient for midline mandibular fracture ?
Brings back vivid memories.
Wonderfully demonstrated. With such great details and points to focus. U got one more subscriber sir. Thank you for sharing this 💐🤗
Such a perfect technique! Thank you!
Broke my left Condyle and currently on Day 2 out of 4-6 weeks of dealing with this. I must say that this is definitely interesting.

This cannot be good for the gums or flossing/keeping the gums and teeth clean, especially if someone has gum disease/PD.
