Great review and purchased this as a result. They have been out of stock but I have now received mine with the cordless strimmer this week. I used it yesterday on my back and front lawns and am super impressed. It even went up quite a steep slope on my back lawn, which I didn’t think it would tackle. It’s a brilliant piece of kit
I have this robot mower for a week now, i saw this in promo at our local store and was charmed by its functionality, no wire, no dockstation, just drop and go. Very clever machine. In the beginning my lawn was too high and I cut it down with my fuel mower. At some places the mower is getting stuck because of the uneven lawn that i have (25 yrs old). I have to repair those places where it gets stuck. Battery life is in my situation about 3 hrs. Now my lawn is about 800 sqm, i was a bit afraid if this wasn't too large for the robot, but i must say that if i let him out every day for about 3 hours, its fine. After a week my lawn is looking better and now i orderend some fertiliser to spread to my lawn and see how it goes... I also use it for my mum's lawn as she is 80 yrs old, put it in my car and let do the job at her home. So simple.
Many thanks for this review - and for the one on the LM10. Helped me a lot to decide what to get. The VBRM 16 drop and go went out on my lawn this morning and didn't put a wheel wrong. Almost mesmeric to watch. Your advice re defined edges for the VBRM16 and your slight warning about broken wires on the LM10 system were invaluable. Keep up the good work !
Thank you for the feedback! I'm glad the reviews helped you make a decision and that the VBRM 16 is working well for you. Your kind words are much appreciated. Enjoy your perfectly mowed lawn!
I bought this a few months ago and I'm really impressed with this little thing. The only thing I'd say is, if you have a lawn with a slight slope then gravity definitely plays a part. The bottom of my lawn definitely gets more attention than the top of the slope. If you have a perfectly flat lawn like Mark's though, I'd totally recommend getting one.
Thanks for sharing your experience! I appreciate your insight about the slope. It's great to hear you're impressed with the mower overall. Your feedback will definitely help others with sloped lawns.
This a a wonderful review, thank you. I live alone and struggle to cut the grass myself due to a back injury. I also don’t have an external power source so the battery option this robot lawnmower comes with seems ideal 😊
Thank you for the review. Really helpful. Some quick “what if” questions see if you can help answering: 1. What if I covered the camera, will it just go straight line? Or it will simply stopped? 2. What if I set it to walk on the edge (half walking on my slate bed, half walk on lawn), will it just walk straight line and do the edge trimming? I asked these two “what ifs” because I am so lazy and try to find ways to “trick” the robot and let it run the edge for me. Thanks in a advance!
Hi, no I don't think this will work, as the robot will need the camera to navigate. It can't simply rely on its ultra sonic sensors, so there will be some edge trimming that will be required. Mark

Arrived today, followed advice about trial of boundary. Got stuck after 3 hours, but a perfect cut!! thanks so much! Ive written a full review on Amazon and put a link to your video here!
Great video, I'm going to order one today. Put my Flymo Easilife Go400 out this weekend after a winter away and got the no loop signal message and it's such a common occurence that I'm giving up with them now. I have a feeling once I get the Lawnmaster I wont look back.
Had mine for about a month now, cuts my small lawn perfectly and the grass has never looked better, though one problem I did have was that I was not quick enough to grab it when it started raining and it got a little wet, subsequently next day when I tried starting it there was a yellow flashing light on the ultrasonic indicator, followed the fault problems according to the manual (pulling out safety key and replacing) but still showed fault, then went in to panic mode thinking I had broke it but after a couple of hours in the sun sorted it out, I guess damp got into the lens.
@@maryhearty8026 Hi, update mine had to be replaced as it turned out to be a loose wire somewhere, I though it was damp as it worked after being out in the sun for a while, give it time but if it happens a few times best to get a replacement, they were very good on the phone to me and replaced it quickly.
Thank you, mine went for 5 minutes and it's flashing again. I sent them an email yesterday. Hopefully here from them next week, I only have it 11 weeks😮@@johnmackenzie6008
Great review. I appreciate seeing all your difference edges, and what stops the machine. My opinion, this is pretty comparable to the Worx and a LOT less expensive. I’d buy this for sure over Worx. And I see you have a lot of plastic edging on your property, which would be great to edge your property to make a boundary. I always wanted a roomba mower, which this basically is.
Thank you for your feedback! I'm glad you found the review helpful. It's great to hear that you find this machine comparable to the Worx and appreciate its cost-effectiveness. The plastic edging indeed helps in creating clear boundaries for the mower.
Hi I’ve just purchased this lawnmower before I saw this video and before I purchased it, I was not sure how good it would be for the price cos I paid £285 for it . This is my first robotic lawnmower and did want one you don’t have to put a boundary wire down first but a lot of those was so expensive till I saw this . I’ve got a bit of a slope to my garden and this lawnmower seems to handle the slope really well
Thank you for sharing your experience! It’s great to hear that you decided to go with the LAWNMASTER VBRM16, especially since it fits your budget and doesn't require a boundary wire. For a first robotic mower, it sounds like you made a solid choice. I'm glad to hear that it handles the slope in your garden well! Many users appreciate the convenience of robotic mowers, especially when it comes to tackling different terrains. If you have any tips or insights after using it for a while, feel free to share. Enjoy your mowing experience,
Many thanks for your comment. The LAWNMASTER VBRM16 uses a camera for navigation and mows in a random pattern. While this approach allows for flexibility and can cover the lawn efficiently, there may still be instances where it misses small areas, especially if the grass is taller or if there are obstacles in the way. To improve coverage, you might consider running the mower more frequently. Thanks Mark
Hi the mower leaves about 10cm uncut around the edge of the lawn (as seen in my video). It is possible to buy this robotic mower complete with cordless grass trimmer for the complete package. Thanks
Thanks for the review! There is a new version of this model with a charging station. Apparently, the VBRM20D is able to cover a surface up to 800m2, which is suprising considering there is no application to guide the mower. It would be great if you could test this new model, or provide a feedback because I have not found any on the web.
Thank you for your response Mark! My mower focuses only on the back of the garden (600m2), leaving large clumps in certain areas despite the advertised 800m2
I just ordered mine based on your review, but it would be nice if you did a time lapse video of how the robot mower moves around your garden, did it managed to cut all of your lawn except the edges?
Hi Kin, great to hear, yes it did manage to cut all of the lawn before the battery needed recharging. So anything up to 100m squared will be cut on one charge.
Great review, thank you. As for the defined boundaries, I have a post and rail fence between myself and an adjacent farmer's field. The lowest rail is roughly 1 foot off the ground. Would the robotic lawnmower detect this lower rail, or carry on under the rail, and into the farmer's field, mowing it's little heart out!? Thanks in advance.
I had a reply back from Cleva. Unfortunately they believe that the mower would not "see" the lower rail and that you would have issues with the mower leaving the area. A clearly defined edge around the full perimeter of your lawn, such as paving or gravel, or a raised edge at least 6cm high, is required to prevent the mower leaving the grass. Hope this helps,
Great review would you still recommend after 1 year ? Does it stop on its own after it has covered the entire area or do you have to determine when to stop it ?
Thanks for your positive feedback. I gave this mower to a neighbour and it is still working well. It has no concept of how much it has mowed and mows in a random pattern. It will keep mowing until the battery runs out or you stop the mower when it has mowed the lawn. Hope this helps. Mark
Thanks for the review. I am planning to order it but have a question. Do you think it works on patchy lawns? I have a single coherent lawn which has small patches of dry grass due to dog pee.
Hi, if the dog wee patch is well defined, the mower will see it and will navigate around, I believe (I have not tested this particular situation). So it will cut the grass around the patch. The patch will essentially be treated as a stepping stone. Kind regards Mark easylawnmowing.co.uk/lawnmaster-vbrm16-review/
For optimal performance, it's best to run the robotic mower on dry grass. Wet grass can be more challenging to cut and may lead to clumping or uneven mowing. Given the frequent rain, try to schedule mowing during the driest part of the day or after a few hours of no rain to ensure the grass has had some time to dry out
The grass would need to be cut first if it's very long. Yes you could use additional batteries but you may be better looking at a model that charges itself if you lawn is larger than 100m2. Have you looked at the LawnMaster L10? easylawnmowing.co.uk/lawnmaster-l10-robot-lawn-mower/

I have a lawn with a drop off at the edge which I doubt this lawnmower could handle. Could I simply add some timber spikes border edging at this side of the lawn to stop the mower from going off the lawn and onto the path? Thanks
Hi, yes you will need a physical barrier to stop the mower going over the edge, if you don't want to modify the lawn or lay paving along the inside of the fence.
Thank you for such a detailed review; the mower looks perfect for me. Would you let it run unattended in the front garden? Although I live on a quiet street in a safe area, I still worry about someone coming along and walking off with it 😅 is there somewhere discreet to hide an AirTag perhaps? Thanks!
Yes it is definitely fine to leave the mower running unattended, as long as your boundary is well defined. Yes there is always a risk of someone taking the opportunity to pinch it, however mine has been in the front garden for 3 years and I had no issues.
Hi, I don't think the stepping stones will cause any issues, as long as they are level with the lawn. With this robot mower you do not need an outdoor plug, as you charge the battery inside. See my video for more information. Thanks Mark
Is there a similar mower (no apps or gps and no wire) like this that doesn't do random mows in random directions? I think that is unproductive, it mows over already mowed areas. I would like one that does straight lines (like I would mow) and maybe even have a function to mow in different directions in a straight line, Like I would mow.
I live in a hot climate, heat destroys lithium batteries, i want a mower that stops mowing when the battery reaches a certain temperature, restarts when the battery has cooled to a certain temperature, or something else that prevents damage to the batteries.
Hi, it is a good comment, as far as I know they come with a rain sensor, not a temperature sensor. With the more safisticated robotic mowers you can always schedule to cut at night and ensure that you position the charging station in a shady position (if you are in a really hot location).
It depends on how long the lawn was when you started. Yes you will need to use the mower on regular basis so it keeps on top of the lawn and only cuts a small amount each time.
Hi Paul, thanks for your comment, if you are referring to the cutting height at 14.12 I mentioned 60mm, not 16mm, otherwise you are right I would not be cutting anything. Hope this helps, thanks again.
I appreciate your perspective and understand your concern. My use of the word "opportunist" was intended to convey the idea of someone seizing an unexpected chance to steal, rather than to downplay the seriousness of theft. Rest assured, I recognise the severity of such actions and the impact they have on victims and will be carful of the terms used in future. Thanks Mark
Don’t write this drop and go mower off. You have the best of both worlds and it’s works well for smaller sized lawns. It’s more like a traditional mower where you don’t have to mow yourself. Thanks.

I would like one that does straight lines (like I would mow) and maybe even have a function to mow in different directions in a straight line, Like I would mow.
Hi - Sorry no I don't. Anything that has that level of guidance and control will have a app and/or be GPS guided.
Great review,,,thanks!!
So pleased my video was helpful, thanks for your feedback. Mark
Is this water proof? Can it cut in the rain?
No, do not use in the rain. There is no rain sensor on this model.
Superb review👍
Thank you 🙂
I live in a hot climate, heat destroys lithium batteries, i want a mower that stops mowing when the battery reaches a certain temperature, restarts when the battery has cooled to a certain temperature, or something else that prevents damage to the batteries.
Hi, it is a good comment, as far as I know they come with a rain sensor, not a temperature sensor. With the more safisticated robotic mowers you can always schedule to cut at night and ensure that you position the charging station in a shady position (if you are in a really hot location).
Looks.good please.domt.tell.me. the model number 10 times!
Thanks for your comment
Just got one, dose not cut down to required height in one pass, is this normal? Does it take a number of passes??
It depends on how long the lawn was when you started. Yes you will need to use the mower on regular basis so it keeps on top of the lawn and only cuts a small amount each time.
Excellent review however I would say that if robots take over the world, this was their foot in the door 😀
Hi Dilly, I couldn't agree more. I will be testing the LUBA robotic mower shortly, and this is even more clever and sophisticated. Thanks
Hmmmm, you stated your grass had reached 16mm height, but later you noted the mower was set to 40mm height… so basically it didn’t cut anything !! 😂
Hi Paul, thanks for your comment, if you are referring to the cutting height at 14.12 I mentioned 60mm, not 16mm, otherwise you are right I would not be cutting anything. Hope this helps, thanks again.
Potential thieves are now 'opportunists'? Good thing the seriousness of the action is not understated or misunderstood.
Thanks Mark
how does it go back to charge station?
It doesn't, you charge the battery in the charger, then put the mower out to mow. Thanks
NOT AVAILABLE IN THE USA! Grrrr!
Have you got "BAT-TREES" in your garden or did you mean a
"ba-TTerY" or "ba-TTer-ees"
Thanks for your feedback and engagement with the channel.
It's not waterproof. So if you forget it in heavy rain, you can forget about it.
Hi, yes treat this as a normal lawnmower and do not put out if rain is forecasted. Thanks Mark
Your poor knees
They only problem that he stay in the same area where he already cut that’s why I don’t like it
This mower has a random mowing pattern, so will not get stuck in the same spot. Thanks
For the price I hope it last a good few seasons
I have no doubt that it will serve you well.
But we know it's a ROBOTIC LAWN MOWER, but how many times do you need to say ROBOTIC LAWN MOWER.
It's just a mower after you've said it once.
Thanks for your feedback and engagement with the channel.
Seems useless if it does not charge itself…
Don’t write this drop and go mower off. You have the best of both worlds and it’s works well for smaller sized lawns. It’s more like a traditional mower where you don’t have to mow yourself. Thanks.
You poor thing,go to bed.
