I'm sure that temperature change from SA was a beast for you! The cats keep the mice away from the restaurants. Mt. Kilamanjaro is the mountain you referred to; a volcano, and one of the tallest peaks in the world. Those shots of boats on the water made me want to chuck everything and get on a plane and just sit there for the rest of my life 🤣 Thank you for the great content!

You are absolutely right! The temperature change was definitely an adjustment over SA. I spoke to a guy who rescue cats and he said that he placed a lot of the healthy ones in the park so that they could be fed properly because he didn't have enough food to feed them all. I only had problems with when I was trying sit down and eat. I found myself constantly found myself trying to protect my food.
Oh yeah...and the shots of the boats - The water was so calm and relaxing and so surreal. It looked like it was part of a movie set.

You know that Europeans cannot get enough of this place. They love it for all the reasons that you are complaining about it. Their perspective is not altered by the fact they come from countries that have more amenities than South Africa has. There is a reason why Tanzania is not changing anything about Zanzibar: the place is a magnet because of its historicity and unique charm. As for the quality of your accommodations, these are strictly what you paid for. When I was in the US, I stayed in Indian owned motels where the molding was falling off the ceiling, the bath towels that were once white were now a beige colour, and the floors, to say nothing of the bathrooms, were of such a quality that I would never dare walk on them barefoot. I also visited people who resided in run down apartments in rundown neighbourhoods, which reaking of mildew, and wooden floors were creaking ominously from 100 years of unrepaired use. You have to be objective. On the other side you could stay in the opulent luxury of Treasure Island in Las Vegas or a posh hotel in any American city. The bottom line is that you could have paid more and stayed in a better place. As for the shops, remember, ultimately, Zanzibar is a place meant to accommodate the needs of the Zanzibari. If they are not complaining, then everything is alright. All the foreigners who go there choose to go and partake of what the Zanzibari have and avail to them. This is not a place catering to the whims of foreigners.

@@NomadicJayye2021 I cannot go into the Hill District in Pittsburgh, Liberty City in Florida or Oak Cliff in Dallas and complain about not finding what I want. The people who live in these places are not obliged to please or appease me. I choose to go into their neighbourhoods; If I do not like it, I do not complain. It is built for them, and not for me. I am not entitled to what I want. I choose to go their to participate in and partake of what they have chosen to have. Zanzibar is no different. It is not a museum. It is a home of people that foreigners choose to visit

@@NomadicJayye2021 Hahahahahahaha.... where is it Jaye? You can complain. When you are in your uncle's house, it is your right to complain as a descendant of the Africa soil. If you were not black, we would consider your complaints as insults.
