    For anyone copying the format, don't put your address on your resume
    It's weird, unnecessary, and harmful (farther away employees won't read on, thinking that you won't be willing to commute)

    I want to start working as a freelancer online. You advise me: Cyber security or Full stack Developer ?

    • @collinsinfosec
      @collinsinfosec  7 місяців тому

      I am not well-versed in the full stack development industry. I suggest full-stck development for freelancing though.

      Sure, it's a good start for people with no I.T background. You just need to put in strong efforts for the next 3 to 6 months. You'll be amazed with what you can accomplish. Best wishes!

    Let me be honest with you - I have 3 years of IT experience and i followed the career path videos on cyber security and i too cleared the security + exam. Now the question is job hunting ? currently it sucks , no matter how much i put all these crap yet i get no fuckin response and im just frustrated.

      I believe between the mass layoffs and many companies downsizing, it’s just going to get worse. I took a break doing IT for a “career” in LE. The reason behind it, more agencies are looking to combat cybercrime, it’s a new frontier and I figured I’d jump on it rather than going to work for some security firm. Will it work out? No idea and the only way is to try. Good look on your endless search.

      I second here what @basedchad6284 has said. With the mass layoffs happening earlier this year and budgets being tightened across industries, the barrier has gotten that much harder. I can resonate with your frustration, especially if you listen to people online like me saying "do this" or "do that" and you do it, but then nothing happens. Every situation is different.
      Here's what I recommend. Evaluate what you are doing right now. And try to adapt. Mass submitting resumes to online job postings probably will not yield results. An idea you could try is to cold call local IT companies, see if they are in need of any help. Look into positions in government, healthcare, and critical infrastructure. Call a recruiting agency to see if you could work with them to get you placed in front of employers who are hiring. I know all of this is relatively generic and probably won't help, but keep up the persistence and continue to study 👍
