And now a little back story on us, in case you just found us on UA-cam. We’re Sara and Ryan. We are your average suburban family, but 10 years ago, we purchased a raw piece of land in the Hood Canal in Washington. We’ve been developing this piece of property slowly, and this year we knew it was time to go all in. So we purchased a log cabin kit home and decided that 2020 would be the year we built a house on our property. We plan to build this cabin (as much as we can) on our own.
Unfortunately, some unforeseen events in 2020 that were completely out of our hands put a delay on our cabin kit being produced and delivered in the time frame we had originally planned. While we could have just waited it out and pushed back starting on the build of our home, we decided to shift gears and change our course for the time being. We purchased a 30 foot yurt, and will be setting it up as additional living space when we begin to build our cabin.
In the summer of 2021, we FINALLY moved to the Hood Canal so we could start the build of our future home. While we are building our home, we are living in a camper trailer and the yurt that we built in the summer of 2020. We hope to have our cabin kit home built by the end of 2023. Just my husband and I are building the house. We get help here and there from friends along the way and we do plan to get help on the roof but other than that we are doing it all on our own.

Wow, retro colors from the 70's.
Watching your family put up the tree brought tears to my eyes. Your kids are so lucky to grow up with these awesome experiences. I can picture them as adults telling their kids about the house grandma and grandpa built and how they would go out on the property to pick out a tree. ❤
It was a special moment for us all. I had a little tear come to my eye while I was editing that sequence. It will be a moment we will remember for a long time.
Your house has grown over the last two years and so have your children, really grown. !

The refrigerator is beautiful the colors are what you needed to set the wood off can't wait to see the island and shelves.
It will look even nicer when we have all of our matching cookware displayed on the open shelves. Should tie everything together.
Beautiful...orange not my favourite colour but I don't live there. Love the originality of it tho'. I was a teenage mom in the 70's and that's what it reminds me of. The important thing is you folks love it. The Xmas tree was absolutely beautiful but my favourite part was the two of you dancing. Now THAT made me tear up...❤

A Halloween Fridge.
Like a candy corn.
I have seen a few ppl that have bought those fridges that said to never dishwash the pitchers. They are hand wash only. They made that mistake & to replace them They was charged 2,000.
Thanks for the warning. We'll make sure to only hand washer ours.

Great Job! When are you planning your move in?
We are planning to move the kids in at the end of February and Sara and I will probably move in in April. We are planning to live in the yurt while we are finishing up the interior trim. At least that is the plan right now.
