    There are plenty of useful features that make it worth stepping up to the GT. My machine gray ND3 GT soft top manual was $35000 (S-Plan) which is a bargain for this car. Even though the price has gone up quite a bit in recent years, it's still the best sports car bargain you can find. I just got a call from my dealer today letting me know it's arriving on Monday...can't wait! The older I get the more I appreciate the extra comfort and tech features. The GT exclusively gets auto on/off adaptive headlights with auto high beams, rain sensing wipers, Homelink transmitter, auto dimming side and rear view mirrors, navigation, etc. Well worth it to me. This will be my 2nd Miata and I've always regretted selling the first one, so this one is forever.

      There really is no bad trim level of the MX-5 you just buy the one that appeals most to you it's impossible to go wrong with this car. I just like the base for simplicity and absolute lowest price possible massive congrats on your purchase and the deal that you got!

    Kevin, the manual Club and GT ND pre-refresh also has an LSD. I think the 2024 just got a retuned version. That bouncing on the highway is definitely something I haven't ever heard in another review over multiple years. Thanks for bringing that to our attention. Hopefully only a problem with that one. Otherwise, "Miata is always the answer," except on the highway. Good thing it likes backroads so much.

      More than likely the tire pressures were set way too high. Dealers always do that, and on my '23 soft top GT it made for an enormous improvement in ride quality when I lowered the pressures to the recommended 29 cold PSI.

    Mine bounces around on hwy at higher speeds when there are expansion joints. It is short wheelbase issue and maybe those spring damper combo isnt set up perfectly. Air pressure spec is to be set when cold. After youve driven it a while the temp goes up and pressure in tires goes up.

    I'm tempted to throw utility/practicality to the wind & trade my 2022 CX-30 CE (which I do like) in on one of these instead (RF version, 6-MT). I do miss driving a manual (my CX-30 is the only automatic that I have ever owned).

    • @MeynMotorGroup
      @MeynMotorGroup  3 місяці тому

      I feel many of us car enthusiasts get that urge to throw practicality away to buy one of these 😅 it really is a joy to drive but as an only car... man that's a stretch 😂 If you are serious about making that jump I think going with the GR86 or BRZ twins would make more sense as they have larger trunks and back seats for more storage. Only negative about the 86 is the engine sound otherwise that car also drives perfectly.

    Tempting but my ego prefers a 2015 Cayman. The Miata is 60k here and you don’t seem to be getting a lot for your 60 grand. Sat in one last week and was pretty underwhelmed, I think that was a 2021 model, black with black interior, maybe I need to look at a better colour combo. I should try a manual but I think I’m too lazy these days to bother with a manual.

    • @Middleguy37

      Ego prefers the Cayman, but your wallet wont. 60K , wow, where do you live , that is pricey

    • @MeynMotorGroup

      Nothing wrong with that my friend another person asked about Porsche as well and the reality is the "best" car is what suits your preferences there is no universal or unanimous answer to the question "what is the best car?"
      Many of these mainstream car enthusiasts act like manual freaks as if they need a stick shift in a Rolls Royce, I'm not one of those people. I would actually take an Automatic in a lot of cars, Miata is just one of the few where the manual completes the package and I can appreciate a well executed manual, I hate half baked ones.
      Anyway, if a PDK Cayman is what fits your needs, go for it my friend. Porsche is going to offer many things a Miata never could and if your local Australian market has overpriced Miatas, that's more of a reason to go Porsche. Ignore the endless reliability comments, those who watch my channel know there are many ways to deal with reliability, find a CPO model or buy a quality extended warranty problem solved.

    Unless you want multiple cars, my impression is this seems better-suited for a vacation/road trip toy to travel with possibly maximum joy. (At least without really breaking the bank.) This does look quite nice and perhaps distinguishes it from its prior year models. Which other videos seem to suggest is its stiff competition.

    I like your video Kevin. That bouncing you talk about on the highway has not happened to me. Pure driving joy in the Miata. Have a 2016 MX-5 Club soft top with the Brembo / BBS package. Its been 7+ years with it as a daily in 4 season weather. Its driven with winter tires that sit on a dolly in the garage during the warm weather. I change them out & rotate them every seasonal change. Its been a great car all around & surprised at its ability to handle the bad weather. Love this car but the ND3 has more updates piled on from the ND2. So I placed an order for a 2024 Club soft top with the BBR package. Looks like things at the factory have run out of stock for the Club models so delays are happening. What was supposed to be July delivery is now looking like August ( after placing the order in April ).
