You can just hear the happiness in your voice being out on the road again! Made me 😊 as you were chatting away about the ride and when you got on it going up the mountain. From across the pond, good to have you back on a bike Lee, can't wait to see back racing again!
Thanks Lee, I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we really appreciate the time and effort you put into these with everything else you have going on. Maybe some off road clips would be good but whatever you do is eagerly awaited.
Loved the fact you weren’t too confident getting on the bike, then started to relax when you got up over a 100mph………TT riders just built different! Really enjoyed that!
From your voice going up the mountain I imagine your smile was ear to ear, nice to see you giving the Triumph a bit of wellie Lee. Thanks for the video.👍👍
After watching how tough your whole journey over the last 12months has been, this has given me so much happiness just hearing the joy in your voice over the mountain! Hope to see you back flat out asap. Nice one Lee 👌🏻
Absolutely awesome to see you out riding Lee - thanks for the great video and thanks for taking a photo with me at the Grandstand this year. All the best 👍
"This is good for your health and if you don't think so, then there is something wrong with you!" No truer words than that! You're 5'5" and I'm 6"5' and I always envy smaller fellas because me on the Daytona is like an elephant on a peanut! Fantastic to see you back on a bike! You're a natural, racer and commentator, and looking forward to seeing you back racing again! All the best!
6"5' here too, I ride an 04 955i Daytona and quite honestly, despite its age and lack of modern gadgets, it's the best bike and most comfortable bike I've owned so far
@@austinspacious1885 Nice one! I ride a Honda Hornet 600F 1998 ( same set up as the Fire blade) no gadgets, not even a fuel gauge with twin exhausts. I chose her not only because I fit on her comfortably, but also due to her light weight, since at my young age of 58 I just do not want to ride heavy bikes anymore. I prefer the old bikes. Safe riding!
Great video lee I never start the bike unless I'm on it, if its on a slant leave it on the stand and in gear learned the hard way bike fell over on my drive while ticking over 6 months old zzr1400 grand to fix love your channel well done great watch well done speedy recovery with the leg 👌🏍🍀
Hi lee, been great listening to you on manx radio TT, obviously i know you'd rather be out there racing but you are a natural. Sorry i interupted you for a photo while you were talking on phone while putting leathers in the car ( didn't realise you were on phone at the time). Thank you for doing that and good luck with the rest of your recovery.
To hear the pleasure in your voice as you went over the mountain was fantastic compared to a few weeks ago when you were struggling with your recovery and the black dog was biting your arse. I have my own problems but those moments like that make everything worth while. You keep the recovery going young man and thanks for putting a smile on an old bikers face.
Loved this! Reminded me of watching Paul Whitehouse and Bob Mortimer gone fishing 😂 Really cool hearing The General chatting about bikes, the scenery, the track. And absolutely must get hold of Coopes to have a track day comparison with the race prepped SportBike 660. Great little video 🙌🏻
Best feeling ever, managed a few good runs on Monday before we had to leave! Nothing beats that feeling of going round the hairpin and climbing the mountain! Looks a real smooth ride that little Daytona, those triple engines seem great!
I've watched a fair few TT related videos over the last week or so and this has made me smile the most, great being along for the ride. I think the BBC should make a two wheeled version of Top Gear with Lee, Tom Birchall and Chris Pritchard as the hosts and Jamie Whitham as the Stig!
I Like that Rst Jacket Lee, loved seeing you back on the bike Pal. I stay in Scotland and 30 minutes from my house is the start of the Trossachs National Park and the start of the Highlands. Riding here reminds me very much of the Isle of Man, the remoteness, the isolation, the sheer enjoyment of it all.
Lee, I think you're great, but what you said at 25:52 nearly got me triggered. I have a Suzuki GSX-R 600 and I absolutely love it... ahh you're right, I don't need it, but I'm really happy that I have it. Cheers, great video!
Loved the vlog Lee. I've seen many helmets damaged by falling from a bike when parked. Pop your gloves on the ground & place your helmet on top. Regards from Lindley!
This is cool. The fact that you admit you have so much to learn about riding a standard bike on the road. Listening to you talk I feel like you’d get in a lot of peoples standard road bikes and be able to instruct massive changes that would make the bike feel loads better to ride. Great video! Would like to see more
What a magical video! We can hear you smiling and REALLY enjoying yourself - just as much as I'm enjoying watching and listening to you. So honest, so open, so warm! Don't ever stop. Wonderful! 😊
It is such a joy listening every time to your vlogs. The honesty en humor in it is class. Keep up all the good work and hope to see you race soon. Maybe you can ride at the ManxGP this year. We are coming over for that from Belgium
Such a great video. The little pre-amble out to Ramsey was just a nice little teaser and warm up becuase as soon as you came out the hairpin, you changed dramatically. Touch more speed, big open roads and you were on cloud 9. Zipping along happy as you can be and enjoying being out on the bike again. It was nice to just watch and listen to you. I'm sure that it made such a difference to yourself after the last few months and dragging that cage around. Cage free and Trumpy 660 goodness
Great stuff Lee. Would be good to see some. More of the 360 views if possible. Watching this gave me goose bumps to get back… can’t image the feeling you got. Great stuff keep it up. See you there next year.
So good to see you out there enjoying the ride and you proved that with that Big beaming smile at the end Made me happy to see you back in the driving seat Buy the bike and do that every year mate!
Thank you for speaking on behalf of us vertically challenged riders about how nice it is to be able to get both feet down. As a 5’1 female, I get eye rolls when I say that, so having a TT legend say it is great. 😁
Really enjoyed this content and just listening to you enjoying riding again. Having just booked my ferry to take my bike over for the first time to next years TT I can't wait to ride that mountain road. Keep up the good work. Something for the future perhaps, it would be great to see a bike trip with you and James Whitham. Grand tour on bikes,
Mate i'm buzzing for you! Could hear the anxiousness in your voice at the beginning but the further you got round, the more acquainted you become to the bike you could hear how it made you feel. Then you got to Ramsey hairpin on the run to the gooseneck you sounded like a giddy child on Christmas morning. Love it mate, keep it up!!!
My textile jackets and suits all have replaceable armor. Living in Texas at the time I learned that a good Mesh (I have 2 FirstGear MeshTex that have a liner that is waterproof and warmer) without a liner is better in hot temps than going without. It is in fact why I have two of them. I only had one jacket and was about to take a long vacation ride, tossed it in the wash and ran about town to get some things wearing just a t-shirt, and was cooked as it was August in DFW, ergo over 100f/38c. For cooler temps I have a two piece cheap suit from Cycle Gear's Adventure line, It has some ventilation and if moving I've worn it in warm temps if I knew it would rain. 80f/27c was okay if you were not stopped in traffic too long. It too has liners that make very cold temps easily done. I live up north now so that gets much more use. My one piece suit is an Olympia, and if it is below 60f/15c it is too cold to wear (as I've gotten a bit too fat to wear warm clothes under it) and it is very waterproof, but easily ventilated and I could wear it in those hot Texas days. Good to see you having fun on the road. Doing great on the Reports and TT+ stuff.
Great to see you back on two wheels and enjoying yourself, Lee. You could tell how much fun you were having in your voice! Seems like a great bike too.
Mega Lee. Really enjoyed the vlog, something different from the norm. Great to see ya riding & having fun after everything you have been through. Your passion for the TT is quite evident & will be good to see the General back racing proper next year. All the best mate 👍🏻👊🏻
Was there till Sunday for practice and first two races ! Loved your work on the radio Lee. Your natural chatter box was perfect ! Great job ! Great to see you on the parade lap too ❤
I’m glad to see you happy and on a bike again. I know it’s not the race but I hope you’re enjoying yourself on the island! Enjoy the time with the family you’ll be back racing there soon enough. Cheers from sunny California!
Lee that was absolutely amazing. I tuned in thinking it was gonna be a wee chat about your telly stint on TT+, only to find you going up the Mountain Course. I can already tell this is going to be a great day as it’s got off to a great start and the racing hasn’t even started yet.
‘I’m not going to do anything silly’, and then goes over 100mph wearing jeans😂. Great vid. Really enjoyed that. Think that onboard was more useful than racing ones in terms of giving people an idea of what it’s really like👌🏻
Great blog , it was good chatting to you up Victory cafe , I was the guy who had the tiger 1200 rally pro 🤙🏻 you made me laugh when i told you i can lower the suspension so Carla could get on ,and you said that’s cheating 🤣 all the best Gav
Ride the island's roads outside of TT period if you get the chance. Much less traffic and the temporary speed limits of TT have been lifted. There's some really nice rides to be had around the country roads.
Loved this brilliant, I was on the Ireland last week no way I could have been that chilled on the mountain 😂 can you review a gs next that would be hilarious especially with Christy on the back
Brilliant Lee! Thank you.
Love that Lee all honesty great vlog from the heart 🤙🏻🤙🏻

Loved the fact you weren’t too confident getting on the bike, then started to relax when you got up over a 100mph………TT riders just built different! Really enjoyed that!
I thought exactly the same! Bit nervous at junctions etc, but totally smooth and effortless at 100mph 😂
What a bonus for those bikers when you rocked up. 🙌
When u started making motorbike sounds going over the mountain just shows how normal and genuine guy you are 👌👍
From your voice going up the mountain I imagine your smile was ear to ear, nice to see you giving the Triumph a bit of wellie Lee. Thanks for the video.👍👍
i was the one who walked up to you with the helmet at the bungalow, thank you for signing it!

Completely agree. Passed my test in December and loving it. That comment stood out to me too👍🏻👌🏻

Enjoyed that - excellent!
Good morning Mr.Johnston 😜👍great video, 😃 greetings. Ljubott
Thanks for the ride along Lee!😊
Best (non-racing) TT video of the year. Thank you.
Lee johnston .. moto vlog .. isle of man .. yes please!! 🔥
The programme would definitely be great, but please, anywhere but the ghastly BBC.
Absolutely brilliant mate best bike review I've ever seen . Triumph should just give you that bike . I reckon you sold a few with that vlog . 👏👏👏
Back in the saddle where you belong 🤙🏼
Edit: As your ride went on and your voice got happier and happier I couldnt help but smile along

Absolutely non as he had a helmet on 🤷🏽♂️
