    Anemia is not caused by Vitamin C deficiency, it's caused by Iron like the girls said! Vitamin C deficiency is responsible for Scurvy

    • @arkadye

      I'm told that survey cases are rare but still happen. Mostly amongst students in their first year living on their own or away from their parents.

      Yes, but the question is phrased weird. It implies Anemia causes a vitamin C deficiency.

    • @juliannicholls
      @juliannicholls 5 місяців тому +1

      While I still agree that the answer is Iron, Vitamin C deficiency can cause malabsorption of Iron, leading to Anaemia.

    • @T3rminat0r

      It doesn't say, that Anemia is CAUSED by Vitamin C deficiency, but that once you HAVE Anemia (caused by iron deficit), that IT causes a vitamin c deficit... ;)

    • @CrucialArmitage
      @CrucialArmitage 5 місяців тому +1

      @@T3rminat0r Upon reviewing, you're right. To rephrase, it's inquiring about the deficiency caused by anemia. Nevertheless, the question is poorly articulated. It seems the quiz creators might have been mistaken while researching this aspect of anemia, as vitamin C deficiency resulting from anemia isn't widely known or general knowledge.

      Also, Mercury is tidal locked, it always shows the same side to the sun. Therefore one side is very hot and the other side is very cold.

      It stands for "argentum", just as Au stands for "aurum", the Latin words for silver and gold. The country of Argentina was named for the silver mountain legends shared by the first European navigators to sail there.

      A deficiency of Vitamin C is Scurvy.
      Although, just found out anemia is a late stage symptom of Scurvy. However, I think it is due to defects occurring in the circulatory system causing blood loss.

    Au is gold. I remember this because the James Bond book/movie Goldfinger's bad guy was named Auric Goldfinger.
    Mercury is the closest planet, but has no atmosphere. Venus is the second closest and has an atmosphere causing it to trap heat creating a greenhouse effect.
    The trivia question used the depiction of Marvel's Thor, but he was based on Norse mythology so not seeing any Marvel movies knowing Norse mythology would also help in that answer.
    Henry Ford is the chief developer of the assembly line for mass production of cars.
    In 2006, Pluto was declassified as a planet.

    Mercury is the closest to the Sun, but it doesn't retain the heat because it has no atmosphere. Venus, however, has a dense atmosphere of mainly CO2, so it has an immense greenhouse effect happening and is so hot that it rains Sulfuric Acid.
    Pluto used to be considered the smallest planet, until it was reclassified as a dwarf planet. Now it's Mercury.

    I... question the "generalness" of this, but got 45 "totally correct" and 2 of those I was between two and guessed wrong.
    But those first 50 were "oddly specific" for general knowledge. And somewhat "regional" though the regions did vary.
    Yes, I hated the Anemic question too. Being anemic is caused by an Iron deficiency... but the wording was what deficiency is CAUSED by anemia. I guess it could cause issues as well as being one.
    Oh and "Turkey Day" is a North American thing not a world knowledge thing.

    • @canadianicedragon2412

      @@robinwiggieIf it was "for Americans" it wouldn't ask the capital of Canada. I know many folks in the US and... I'll just say I doubt any of them knew Canada's capital when I met them. Likewise, why the... 3 or more questions about India? (sorry if they weren't in the first 50 I did all 100) My point was several of those questions might be well known in the US but others you'd need to live in Europe, or Asia for them to be "common knowledge." At least IMHO. I got 16 total wrong, AKA 84... and I'm a world traveller and searching content from around the world... so I'd "hope" I know more that the average....

    Venus is sometimes closer in relative terms. The orbit of Mercury takes it on a regular orbit, but only one face is close to the sun for it's relatively short "year". Venus has a more more elliptical orbit and when Mercury is on the far side of the sun, Venus is pulled closer. Venus has an atmosphere made up of greenhouse gasses making it very hot all of the time.

    For reference on question 14:
    The questions was worded in a confusing way. In terms of direct contribution, CO2 is the greenhouse gas most responsible to increasing global temperatures simply because of quantity. However, in terms of impact per molecule both methane and nitrous oxide are significantly stronger greenhouse gases. There's just a lot less of them in the atmosphere, meaning the total "responsibility" of it is lower. That said, we do still discuss the reduction of methane emissions when considering ways to mitigate climate change (one of the multiple arguments for not eating beef from an environmental standpoint).

    A few of these are contentious for non-Americans. #46 for example will vary based on culture not all countries goes with 7. Some some see North & South America as one continent and Eurasia is the true continent of Europe & Asia though due to political splits we tend to see them as separate. But yeah, some places teach 5 or 6.
    Nokia, Sauna, and James Madison are the ones I got wrong.
    Note to Kendra: Thor is a God from Norse mythology not just a movie character. 😏

My dr told me i need iron and vitamin D³ supplements (the vitamin D i get cuz of my auto immune disorder and the fact that i live in winter like 9 months out of the year, but idk how tf im anemic. Probably cuz i have a high white blood cell count compared to my red blood cells, which again my auto immune system sucks ass. It attacks my skin cells and what not, and it sucks when i get sick cuz like its over active BUT DOESNT FIGHT MY COLDS FOR SHIT AND IM SICK FOR LIKE 2-3 WEEKS AT A TIME 😤)

    2x jeopardy champ here! I missed 4 (well, 3 - Anemia *is* an iron deficiency, so that question was wrong). I forgot about the India/China switch re: population, didn't know the twitter thing, and guessed Norway instead of Finland on the sauna one.

    I got 3 wrong I love to study like Venus is closer to the sun and Pluto isn't a planet mercury is the smallest. I absolutely love history/U.S history, William Shakespeare, and science. And bc I live in the woods I see constellations all the time.

      Only under certain circumstances. On average, Mercury is closest. The reason Venus is hotter is because it has a dense greenhouse gas atmosphere which massively increases it's surface temperature.
