- Alternate munitions are here, as well as a more comprehensive filming of the battle report! And perhaps even more exciting than that is the 10th Mech Regiment "The War Corgis" make their first appearance on the channel as they go up against Chris' dynamic Clan Sea Fox 'Mechs!
It is a straight Stand Up and Fight mission in a sparsely populated forest biome.
Great seeing Alpha Strike on the channel! Glad you guys are enjoying this great game
Also glad to see you using the pilot die mechanic, it makes for a much better gaming experience.
I love how happy yall are while playing. I see so many Reports were the players look upset. Good on you. :)
Thanks mate, we try to have a good time while gaming, hopefully it comes across in the videos.
Love seeing more Alpha strike on YT. Great report thank you!
Glad to see more alpha strike, keep up the great work!
Clan sea fox ftw. Good to see more alphastrike content
Thanks mate. Chris has been busy of late but we should be filming a new battle report soon. We played last week to refresh our memories of the rules. It was a rough game but we had fun.
Autocannon precision ammunition and (to a lesser extent) LRM semi-guided missiles are my best friends when it comes to reining in speedy little backstabber mechs, you might give them a look at some point.
Came for the corgi, stayed for the X-Wing tokens. Long live X-Wing.
lol. The corgis have been the stars of the channel since day one. The best marketing decision I ever made!
@@warcorgi3623 finally played a game of Alpha Strike, used my X Wing tokens as well after seeing this, works really well ha
The main appeal of Death From Above is that it does an automatic critical hit, so it is situationally useful as a suicide attack but punching is usually better. The best way to make it work imo is to use it to punish enemy mechs for standing still. Also re: modifiers, I don't think woods or cover applies. If you check the chart on page 43 in the Commander's edition rulebook it states DFA ignores terrain modifiers.
Thank you for clarifying! We’ll look into it, and that helps a ton!
@@chrispetersen6727 No problem! Love to see you guys enjoying another of my favorite games haha.
Let's be honest, the best thing about DFA is yelling "DEATH FROM ABOVE!!!" when you declare it.
X-Wing tokens, nice. Now break out the movement templates and play Battletech: Attack Wing.
lol
So new here? Are you using a variant attack roll? I wonder if makes sense to call that...just was not really sure how this works
We are using a variant attack roll listed in the main rulebook. It speeds things up while keeping the variance relatively high. Thanks for the question!
So you use something called "Pilot die"a big dice? In my book there are two variant methods...variable damage...roll to 2d6 hit they roll a d6 for each damage point 3 better delivers a point of damage or multiple attack...make an attack roll of 2d6 for each point of damage. I find no reference of "Pilot die" any where...so maybe i am confused?
I love Battletech but Catalyst seems to love propping up mech genders for clout. Hoping the license passes on to someone else but doesn't look like it...
