I'm aware that the audio isn't great. I was using a worse mic back then and I just generally had way more trouble speaking out my scripts at that time as I was more nervous back then. So pls, I'm down for criticism, especially of the constructive type, but atp I've seen enough about the audio to get the message and I've already been improving on the audio front since this video in 2022. Ur favorite UA-camr had bad audio once upon a time 💀
I love it regardless! If the audio needing work is the only thing wrong with the video then that means everything else is great! I enjoy your analysis very much, thanks for sharing it One time my sister compared me to george thinking that it was a compliment, but it sure didnt feel like one
Thank you for the video. The audio is actually good, though there's some times difficult to understand, which I understand completely. Not easy to write a script, reading and give life to it. I'm just curious: It seems that you have like a candy in your mouth and changing it's position from time to time, is it true? xD I understand if you don't respond. Keep up the great work ma dude 💪
I used to think Kramer was the best character when I started watching it and was younger but now as I grow older I realize how much more relatable George is and he’s easily became my favorite
Kramer used to be everyone's favorite character on this show. Now it seems George has taken over. As life has only gotten harder for the average man since this show aired, more and more people are relating to him.
George has really become one of those "oh he's just like me fr" type of characters perfect for internet engagement. Kramer is hilarious for his own reasons but he doesn't have that same quality.
People used to want to laugh at some silly third person, but over the last 20 years American comedy has shifted to introspection. Perhaps Seinfeld and George had something to do with that.
That is an incredibly good take. I think you are bang on! One of the reasons I love George so much is I see alot of my own flaws in him haha but I can relate to his struggles in life.
It’s funny that younger generations think he dates a lot (of course the show is condensed) it was just the 90’s, I even remember being a teenager in the 00’s things just happened more spontaneously. Social media ruined everything related to experience
The more I watched Seinfeld, the more appreciation I gained for Jason Alexander's skills in portraying George. His timing, every facial expression, every physical gesture... just perfect. I wish he'd return to TV... wouldn't have to be comedy... I'm sure he'd be great in a dramatic role as a grizzled old lawyer or something. (Hire this man!)
I once saw an interview with the actor Jerry Seinfeld originally wanted to cast as George. He said he turned down the role because he didn’t understand how to play George Costanza without making the audience hate the character. He said the brilliance of Jason Alexander’s acting is he takes what should be a really unlikeable character and makes you root for him.
🎵Believe it or not, George isn’t at home, please leave a message at the beep I must be out or I’d pick up the phone, where could I be? Believe it or not, I’m not home 🎵
Here's the true genius of Seinfeld the show. Today, we have all these really brilliant, creative, edgy, cynical, insightful comedy shows like Always Sunny, Rick and Morty, Succession, Barry, Bojack Horseman, South Park, etc. These are all shows that pushed the envelope so far that watching a show like Seinfeld today, the casual viewer would probably find it more similar to stuff like Friends or HIMYM. But there was always a very real and deeply entrenched darkness to that show and those characters, it was just very well-hidden. Seinfeld never had to have episodes involving hitmen, prostitutes, drugs, abortion, etc. to score 'edgelord' points. It was just a show about how fundamentally greedy, spiteful, narcissistic, and petty people are. The fact that somehow, throughout its entire run, millions of people couldn't see that because they were so distracted by the whacky situations and catchphrases and goofy nonsense is what truly makes it unique and ahead of its time.
I agree, Seinfeld is one of those shows where u can turn your brain off and enjoy it, but u can also look deeper into its characters and find really well thought out personalities. The entertainment sweet spot imo
I have the same personality of this George Costanza. We both feel, 1. Miserable all the time. 2. Hopeless all the time. 3. Easy to give up. 4. Complain all the time. 5. Never successful. Most importantly, we both feel the same way about God, George: God would never let me be successful; he'd kill me first. He'd never let me be happy. Therapist: I thought you didn't believe in God ... 🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️🤦🏻♀️
I was going to comment on your mumbling voice too, but a lot of people have already pointed it out, so I’m commenting to encourage you to keep on going, because the content was pretty good, so working on your diction and confidence will be a great help to you. Keep on keeping on dude! 👍😀
I personally think it's a tie with Kramer. Outside of Kramer's physical comedy, he's the least terrible of the group. He's also the most adventurous and emotionally secure of all of them. He's open with his sexual desires, his daily activities, and he lives life to the fullest.
I think Kramer carries the show comedically on a moment to moment basis for a lot of episodes with his shenanigans but he isn't as interesting a character as George to me. Plus, George's subplots usually get a bigger laugh outta me
Great video, George is one of my favorite fiction characters of all time. I love how relatable the characters are I feel like every episode is like if the worst thing ever could happen to you and it just keeps getting worse lmao
What also made the show work is that Kramer was the opposite of George. He was confident instead of insecure. Yet they both worked perfectly on the show.
Very nice video, man. Been binging seinfeld and all content Seinfeld related lately and found this. George Costanza is without question one of my favorite characters in fiction, and I really enjoyed hearing you break down his personality like this. Also watched your Margit video since Elden Ring has been my other fixation at the moment and liked that one too. Heres hoping your channel gets some love coming soon!
Here’s a situation that’s perfect for George. (George sees a good looking girl) George: Hello Girl: Hi (George goes to Jerry) George: “Hi?”what kind of thing is that “Hi!” That’s two less letters to my Hello!” Jerry: so what’s the problem? George: I put in the extra effort to having two extra letters, she should do the same! Jerry: well what else is a way to say hi? “Salutations?” George:….nah that’s too many then I have to think of something else.
The show doesn’t include George’s daily successes. The drama jumps around to his inevitable self sabotage. George is like a gambler. Gamblers can’t remember winning consistently. But they recall, with great clarity, every really bad beat. That’s the show. All the hilarious bad beats.
I heard about this aspect from my dad but I didn't think to include it as that's a whole other meta layer that wasn't a factor to me loving the character so much which is something I bet others can relate to. Plus, researching Larry David would've made this video even more time consuming. Doing a video about self insert characters mentioning this aspect of George could be cool. Thanks for giving me the idea
@@branalysis You said someone like George couldn't exist in real life though. But many of these stories are literally things that happened to Larry. That's why George is such a memorable character.
I always wonder how George pulled attractive women so easily myself. One think I can tell you is from what I've observed women back in the early 90s and further back seemed to be alot less picky then they are now. Alot of women I've noticed were happy getting married to pretty much any man with stability, decent job, house, etc. You can look at some famous serial killers as hood examples of this. Men that more than likely would be incels in our present day had no trouble finding women to date and marry. John Wayne Gacy, Gary Ridgway, Jerry Brudos. Not exactly Chad's if you get my drift. George seems really nerdy to us 2024 people but his style of dress was pretty much the norm back then, although his height, weight, male pattern baldness, and huge glasses were always considered unattractive even back then. In my head cannon, which I have no proof of BTW, since George is a fairly confident, outgoing person, I always justified him getting alot of girl as him being one of those guys unafraid of women rejecting him. Basically in my head he's one of those guys that just makes moves on any attractive female he sees in public without any fear. Fir every 20 women that reject him, there will be one he successful charms into a first date. Honestly it's the only way I can justify George's apparently playboy dating lifestyle lol
Great vid, you earned yourself a subscriber from this one.Really good analysis, you def nailed why I love this guy so much. He's such a good character. But personally I, and only I, wouldn't call him interesting SOLELY because I know him so well. That is because I know someone who is exactly like him.... that person is me. The only reason why I said that to make fun of myself. I hope it was funny. Also since you mentioned wondering why he gets so many bitches, I personally think it's not something to be impressed by. Cause, yea, at first glance "guy has had a lot of girlfriends" makes him sound like QUITE the charmer. But NO, George ain't no charmer. I mean. He HAS charm, but he's not a charmer. He's a loser. The way these relationships tie into that is that they show how he's really bad at staying in a relationship and this is due to his poor decision making and wonderfully horrid personality. And then there's the one woman he stayed with... and how that went... Anyway, it's kind of like how we see Jerry constantly get in and out of relationships. There's just a lot of stories you can tell with George/Jerry getting into a relationship with or becoming interested in someone, and then (often how it goes) show their actions lead to the destruction of said relationship. It still is weird though, seeing this big loser and the character based on, named after and played by the guy who voiced the Barry Bee Benson from the bee movie get into more relationships than Kramer, who has a way with women, and Elaine, the only woman in the group, who, by virtue of simply being a woman (and a fairly attractive one at that!) should have it easier when it comes to the playing field. Also... George does have a BIT of an appeal I guess. He WAS Marisa Tomei's type if you remember that episode, and I actually know a woman irl who has a crush on him, too. She said part of the appeal is how sad and pathetic he is, and she has a thing for guys with glasses. Those two are definitely not representative of all women, though, especially the second one. I can definitely see Kramer being the most appealing to younger audience members, he leans more into physical comedy than the rest of the cast
George Costanza doesn't always drink tea, but when he does, he prefers the opposite of coffee. He is the most interesting guy in New York.

George was the single most important element in Seinfeld.
Seinfeld is great due to a bunch of elements working in harmony, but more than most, George can definitely stand on his own to carry the show
He was a whiny bitch in the early episodes but later was much funnier and vindictive. He got better
just like everything else on the show
The rest of the cast are just there to keep us from getting too depressed
The greatest character in the history of sitcom.

George and Elaine slowly swapping character archetypes is the best.
I actually think him having lots of relationships is part of the realism. Irl everyone is someone's type. We kinda forget that on screen.
My concern isn't with being liked, it's with not being disliked.

Shame about the sound on this one. Deserves more views
Thanks, and I must admit, sound mixing is not my forte yet, but I try to improve every video
If you like George so much you should watch his unofficial spin off: Curb Your Enthusiasm. It’s George but more real and uncensored lol
I've heard that. Definitely gonna be something I try in the future
Well considering george’s character is based on the producer of the seinfeld and the main character of curb i would agree.
George is the master of self destruction. Dude has had great jobs, he’s had great girls, and at times made actual friends, and he ruined all of them.
