- Come and enjoy this POV Drive in this Crazy Loud Abarth 124 Spider! You want to hear Crazy Loud Acceleration? How about a POV Acceleration show casing how the Abarth accelerates from 0-60 mph or 0-100 kph? POV Driving is something new to my channel but I hope it encapsulates the emotion and character of the fiat abarth 124 spider through a POV Drive. 0-60 acceleration in this car is 6.8 seconds and the abarth 124 spider definitely delivers with regards to fast loud acceleration! If you like Fast Acceleration and want to enjoye the sound from the stunning monza exhaust in this car then this is the video for you. I was unable to show you the top speed due to speed restriction however ,0-100 would happen relatively quickly! I loved this drive! Driving and showing you onboard POV footage of the new 2017 Abarth through my gopro was great fun but not as fun as watching the fast acceleration from a point of view or pov perspective! Abarth
are brilliant at delivering great passion and character to any drive. The124 spider drive is no different and the sound of the 124 exhaust makes speed feel far greater than it actually is. The engine is the same 1.4 litre in the fiat 124 which also make for fun accelerating! point-of-view accelerations seem to be the in thing at the moment in the automotive community so i though i had to share this crazy abarth and show you how loud abarth's sound like! New abarth's and fiat cars coming to the market are packed with bags of character!

you do realise that we know what speed you were doing by counting the gears and looking at the rev counter...? :) love the sound, but not sure if that might get a bit annoying over time - however the standard 124 doesn't have the limited slip right? not sure what other differences there are - other than ECU mapping.. I have a Abarth 500 - lot of fun.. needs a 6th gear and longer wheel base..

How are these mapped compared to a comp? They seem down on power compared to the tjet?

Why can't FCA make their other vehicles sound this great? Aside from purchasing a supercharged hemi.
Just listen to every Abarth with Record Monza or with Akrapovic exhaust. Even the little 595s are going crazy. Not to mention the Alfa Romeo-performance models, the Maseratis and Ferraris. The Abarth 124 Spider is getting really cheap now. Sadly, with new emission rules roling around and with bad saling numbers, you cant buy it anymore factory new. But I have seen cars in Germany for under 20,000 EUR. And they are just a few years old. So have a look at them. :)
I would love to try an make a debate about 0-60mph almost being 7 sec being WAY WAY to slow but... in typical driving on the roads... minus that few seconds you want to merge onto a highway... there is zero places that a fast 0-60mph time would come in handy without putting urself at risk of tickets etc.

So sad they only have this small engines and less than 200hp..
they already are fun to drive considering the power. Imagine them with 200+ hp.

You guys can do just a muffler delete on the stock US version and get the same sound. Don't know if it will void warranty though.
If you play around with the exhaust I will void Warranty on the whole exhaust I would assume?
Jay S. It’ll only void the warranty if they can prove that what you did to the car is causing the problem. They have to provide evidence that your aftermarket product is messing with your car

It's an intake and a tune away from 250hp if you so desire.. I like the 500-based abarths better though after driving both.
poopdawg27 by "tune" you mean what? The ECU of the 124's multiair Engine hasn't been properly cracked as far as I know, even if that were the case I doubt a map and an intake will get it from 170 to 250.
Eurocompulsion has had the multiair cracked for years now. Intake and their phase 1 tune on a 500 abarth (US spec) brings it from 160bhp to 250bhp... The multiair engine is pretty fantastic. They have it making 300bhp+ with more extensive mods. They have a base tune for the 124 making about 200whp (215+ bhp), and are ironing out the 250bhp tune currently (which only requires an intake). You do need an upgraded intercooler if you want to avoid heatsoak on repeated pulls, but that's just common sense.
poopdawg27 yeah the multiair Engines ECU has been cracked, hence all the tuned Puntos here in Europe. Just always heard that the 124 was really hard to crack ECU wise and not the same as the mutliair of punto for example. Impressive that they have a map that adds 80 horsepower, will have to take a look, thanks for the info!
