- Just getting my thoughts out there. For a TLDR, I've been struggling with improving my content and am really trying to make something I can be proud of. I'm also looking for feedback on the Art Contest to see which direction I should take it in.

so as an artist myself! (..and a frequent of the art contests) ok so firstly i just want to say it’s great to hear an update from you! and about the commentary on the contest: obviously that is only your choice to make, but personally even tho it can be “repetitive”, to hear someone say something positivite about your art can mean SO MUCH for the artist, even tho it’s just some quick words, even if it’s said before and it’s repetitive, hearing someone say “oh i like this a lot, super neat.” is just so great. i don’t think anyone will mind it being repetitive at all! on the other hand, if you don’t do the commentary the video will be out sooner, and it’ll be shorter, which is good too. (personally i still highly prefer having the commentary there.) either way we have trust in that it will be a great video nonetheless!! this was just my personal opinion, i can’t wait to see it!❤️

About the art contest, personally, it is allways a pleasure to hear your thoughts about each peace and for me never feels repetitive at all; but I also understand that having 1,500 entries to talk about Isn't something easy. Also, can't wait to see your new editing skills.

As an artist who entered the art contest, I honestly dont mind if its repetitive. Anything you say about my art, even if its just 'oh this is cool' would be amazing for me, specifically because I don't get really any compliments lol (Im Rainestorm, the one who did the one with all the secret codes. Ik you wont be able to translate them bc you already have alot of work to do, sorry, I didn't realise there would be so many entries)

It's okay zeez, I honestly don't think anyone will care what you do with the contest, what we care about is what you want.
Being someone who has entered the last and current art contests, the last time you spoke about my art made me really happy! It didnt bother me if you werent sure on what to say, honest. You dont have to make the reply the best. It's not a bad thing if its repetitive.

As someone who submitted a 25 second animation to the art contest, I don't mind how long it takes or if the commentary is repetitive. It's just cool to have you art on a big youtubers channel and let them speak about it, no matter what it is, and I hope you're taking care of yourself Zeez!
I understand the frustration of ending up saying the same things over again.. trust me I’m not good at it either but it’s good to let people know what you think. And sure it probably sounds like it’s not enough but some artists rather be seen and let be known that they are ( sorry I talk to much 😅)
I entered the contest! And honestly I just love that you are appreciating the art, regardless of whether or not it's repetitive or not. A lot of people barely have any online following or support for their art, so supporting people is going to mean a LOT. And you caring enough about artists' feelings is a welcome surprise. You're doing great, Zeez, you're really hardworking and passionate and I'm really excited to see where your content goes!
i think a good idea to approach the art contest is to say 2 good things about each piece, then one bad thing that needs improvement. ex. "i really like the lineart and shading in this one. it looks really well-made. however, you should try to stick to a colour palette to make it easier on the eyes." or something like that. it's what i do when i'm looking at other people's art. maybe sandwich the bad thing in the middle of the good things so people won't walk away with a sour taste in their mouth. idk tho take your time
I say you could try to keep the commentary. We know you’re genuine and with the amount of entries it’d be hard to make a totally unique response for each one. You’re doing awesome!! 🫶
As someone who entered the art contest, I’d like hearing your commentary! I always love hearing it in your other art contest videos. It’s okay if your thoughts are repetitive. But at the end of the day, it’s your choice🙂
i was in the last art contest before this one and hearing what you had to say even it it was, "oh look, this is great" was amazing because i love your videos. so my opinion on the matter is that you keep the commentary, because overall it may seen repetitive but to the people in the contest they would just be listening out for theirs. hope you figure something out 👍

I love how you put in all that effort giving commentary for every single entry, and I don’t find it repetitive. If it ever gets to be too much work due to an unmanageable amount of entries, I’d get if you stop adding commentary. That being said I didn’t participate in this art contest, but I did in the prior video and art contest and I really treasured and appreciated your kind words.
as a artist i would be happy either way but a idea is you could do basically the new idea but have your thoughts typed on the bottom so that the artists can see what you thought on thier pieces :)
I mean like being in the art contest is good enough. It was probably the highlight of my day one the last one when I saw my art ,Abomination clone amity, and get commentated by you. Even if sometimes it feels a bit repetitive. It feels good to know you saw the art.
I mean, yeah, commentary for all the pieces would just be absurd.
I think you can maybe group the similar pieces together, and maybe give a general commentary on each group.
I love hearing you talk about the art in the contest, dont stop talking through it!
To be honest, I really like your commentary, and I don't think it's repetitive at all and I think it would be better with commentary. Absolutely no stress and you should take your time :)

For the art contest, as an artist, I for one think a lot of people would really appreciate your comments overall. Even if it feels repetitive, it can be extremely validating to hear a compliment on your artwork, even if its something youve heard plenty of times before.
Of course, this is completely your choice. You put a ton of work into your videos, and given this was meant to be a small art contest, I would understand cutting the commentary to spare any strain that would be put on making such a long video.
On the other hand, I do have a suggestion. If not for this contest, then for a future one: At some point, your commentary is going to feel repetitive to you, especially when you do the same thing over and over again. However, I think a fun way to spice things up would be to include multiple commentaries. Maybe grab a few friends, some that are artists, some that arent, that could comment on the contest with you. Not only would they have their own compliments to give, but it would save you the stress of putting all of the spotlight to comment, onto yourself. Which id imagine can be pretty draining.
This would mean a longer video, and possibly more editing, but as many people have said here, commentaries would be appreciated. I feel this would be a good work around, even if its just one extra person commenting with you. Thats just my thoughts on the matter. Whatever you choose to do, we will understand. And theres always a chance for another contest in the future.

As an artist in the contest, im not the best of an artist and this may very between different people but it really helps when your art gets complimented even if it’s similar or the same as something said about another piece. So yes, I can’t speak for everyone in the contest but I couldn’t care if it’s repetitive, it’s always nice when someone compliments my art 😊
i can't speak for everyone but personally, the commentary was a big contributing factor in me signing up for the last contest in the first place haha. beyond just getting new eyes on my work, i was really excited to hear any kind of feedback even if it was smth like "this looks cool" since i don't get a ton of it normally lol. i know it does get to feel repetitive when you don't have a lot to say, but i think for many artists even the smallest recognition goes a long way. your words about my piece for the last contest really meant a lot to me haha and i think hearing the judges' personal thoughts is a welcomed factor in any contest setting.
for specific commentary, i think i would try and point out any small details or techniques you notice in the piece; i know this may be harder if you aren't an artist with a strong grasp of such things, but artists seriously love when you point out small things they didn't expect you to pay attention to, like the way light shines on something or the texture of a brush stroke. (and personally i do tend to value the opinion of non-artists very highly since that's the majority of who would be looking at my stuff in the first place.) obviously i don't speak for everyone but that's my take on the situation. i wish you luck with the video and projects moving forward!!! i can't wait to see what you come up with :)
Well, one piece of advice: Playing with items is definitely an interesting choice, if your trying to get better, turning items off will for sure help with your gam-OH you want feedback for the video, not SSBU…I knew that

Zeez, sure I’ve watched your channel because I like Amphibia and The Owl House, but I quite like you as a person as well! It would take away a big part of the contest if you weren’t talking in it. I would totally understand if that would be far too much work for you though because 1000+ Entries is crazy. But as an artist myself, I was never bothered by your previous commentary in the other contests and was impressed by how much work you would put into them. I think you’ll do a good job on the new contest and whatever else new stuff you decide to do in the future.
On an unrelated note, I actually had a piece prepared for the art contest, but could submit it due to a storm in my area the day it was due (my power went out) (bruh). It’s fully complete now, and if there’s any chance I can still submit it to the contest going on now or maybe a future one, that would be great, just let me know.
I'm an artist and entered as well, but honestly.... Bro your commentary brings the joy in the artist. I don't know how mine went, but I'll just say.... If you repeat yourself, try to recognize it and change it just a small bit. But overall I'm excited to hear your commentary over the contest! Take your time, and if your not confident, jyst remember you got people who support you and you can try and go the extra mile if you want! Love your channel! And be awesome 😋

So as an “artist” and a newer person to the art contest’s(I submitted a drawing for this one) I think the commentary is great without commentary it could feel bland and just not interesting but you talking could bring flavor(why do I sound like a chef 😭) anyways Ik going over 1000 entries into one video is rlly hard but I wish you the best
I understand if commentary is too much work for you with how many entries there are, and the decision is one hundred percent yours too make. I will say that even just a small, or even repetitive compliment can mean so much to an artist.
For the art contest, i think you should do commentary all of them. Im in this art contest and i was in the last one, when you got up to my drawing, i was just happy that it was there. i would prefer if you did comentary on all of them, even if its a bit repetitive :]
As an artist, I love to hear about complaints to make them better. I think it would be best if you dont voice over it, but if you do and you are running out of things to say, change up the words to make it sound a little different. You do you and just roll with the flow. :)

Even if the commentary on the art pieces can be repetitive, it’s good in a way. Even though you heard the same compliment before you, it fuels the artist with happiness. Your choice though. I know it’s a lot of time to commentate on 1500 art pieces! Take your time
As an artist I perfer commentary because I want to know what I did wrong if it’s bad also it’s a big confidence boost when you say nice things about my art
(Sorry if my spelling is bad I have autocorect on an I'm dyslexic) The thing is as a creator if you don't hate your work then you won't know how to improve on it later on so it's okay to hate something that you've made you can find what you didn't like about it bounce ideas off of peers and move on with a better idea in your mind If in a few days after making that thing that at first you were really proud of you suddenly hate it that's okay the human brain just decides to hate itself but like I said I would recommend bouncing ideas off of peers or a good community so then you can improve and some people might not even want that what if it's what you need then go through with it.

Don’t cut out the commentary. So many young artists feel SO self conscious about their art and it can literally be the difference between them quitting or continuing to improve and create when the people they look up to give them comments. Even if its something “basic” or “boring” it can still mean the world to someone. A small verbal validation can go a long way.

Id say do the commentary. This will definitely inspire artist who didn't win to join the next one so they will have a chance. Plus, I understand that their are over a thousand entries bc it was "small" art contest. YOU KNEW WHAT YOU GOT YOURSELF INTO!!!😂 But hearing commentary is nice.

I would suggest maybe start to clumbing together some art pieces that are very similar or similar comments on. It can save some time on the video and you can give your opinion on the art piece.
i think I and most artists agree that we joined the contest with low expectations on winning, but we entered because we liked your comments on our drawings, i for one liked it, simple or repetitive, isn't a big deal, after all there are 1000+ entries of the same show and episode, ofc it would be repetitive.
no matter how long it takes i think most artists want commentary, otherwise it would just be a slide show made by a 6 year old on their mothers ipad, we already waited a pretty long time, whats another month or so?

Overall if the videos JUST showed art with no commentary or if the comments were mean spirited I would never enter. I do this to have feedback not on the quality of the art but feed back on the idea of the plot of the story.

Here’s more advice it seems that you are the of ‘everything I make sucks’ and this not just you every artist goes through this phase and its not a bad thing its how artists improve but like only to a certain extent because if you keep scraping your videos and hit the reset button at you won’t make anything because your trying to perfect it which is good but if your at point of hardly posting there’s a point you just put it out even if bad in your eyes Maybe a persons will watch the video and there eyes it’s perfect and let’s it does bad and people are giving negative criticism that’s good to become a not perfect but really good criticism is needed and for criticism you need to make the art

for the art competition i love the commentary and i think a good handfull of people would be dissapointed if you didnt do commentary, but from the amount of entries that there are not only might it be hard for you to say new things but that just sounds exshausting for you, and im sure that we will all be happy with whatever you put out. in my opinion, i think you should do honerable mentions and comment on peices that are more original and creative along with the winners, but regardless we all understand whatever way you choose to go with the art competition!!
if you're still up to it, I'd say keep the commentary for the art contest. I know you said it could be repetitive, but I think it would keep things entertaining. And just in my opinion, any compliments I could get from you would be great! Although if you think it'll do better without it that's fine too. Either way I appreciate that you really put thought and effort into your videos ^^
And can't wait for the Tangled and Oshi no ko content! I've been watching these series with my cousin and they've been great, especially Oshi no ko, one of my new favorite animes :D
As an artist who’s entering for the first time, and has watched the other contest videos, I understand issue with comments being repetitive, but being told directly that your art is good can be a lot to an artist, even if it’s something as simple as “I really like this art piece!”. But I also won’t mind it if there isn’t any commentary(and it’s probably more convenient). Although, I would say that if you do choose to add comments, maybe do it in two videos since, well…..1,500 entries.

I like when zeez comments on each art piece it is what makes the art contests unique and interesting also good luck on your editing skills wish you the best on your new editing skills =D
I personally feel that having any feedback is better than none for the benefit of the artists who want to get thoughts on their work. Also as a viewer, I usually flick through the art pieces, and when I see one that catches my attention I'll pause the video to check it out and hear your thoughts on it, because even if you dont feel you have the words to describe the specific artistic qualities of the piece, your commentary still puts the thoughts from the pov of a TOH fan as well personality into the scene, which otherwise is just an impersonal slideshow. I can totally understand though that this video is HUGE with hundreds of submissions, so if the commentary is taking years to finish r makes the video too long r whatever, then dont exhaust yourself.

I personally love the commentary but I wouldn't mind it not having commentary because saying something new for 1000 pieces would be difficult even if the person is an artist-

i think that even if what you say about the art is repetitive, its better than nothing and im sure a lot of people (including me) would like to hear what you have to say about our drawings
if theres too many drawings of the same type (like titan luz) then you can bunch them together and say one thing about all the drawings, just to save time or not be too repetitive.

As someone who did enter the contest, I would LOVE to hear your commentary and opinions on the pieces, as it helps some of us to improve our art, and this is the first art contest I've ever entered.

I would say that any art critique, even if it might be repetitive, is much appreciated as long as it isn’t unnecessary harsh without reason. With how many entries the contest got, of course there is going to be some overlap. I say, just do your best!
I love your videos, and your commentary in the art videos just makes it so much better and I think you should keep the audio in but if you don’t want to that’s completely fine as well.
I’m an artist and tbh I would love to hear your commentary on it. It would really bring a lot of people joy to hear compliments on their art even if the compliment was used again. But I do understand why saying the same comments can be repetitive tho.
