    You should try the everlasting youth fluid . Its more for mature skin , it is luminous , it last and its more hydrating. For me its a better version of the skin illusion foundation.

    Ohh love the foundation rests! I have my fingers crossed you will do a review of the new L’Oréal Age Perfect foundation and makeup line. I saw at my local Walgreens today an empty display setup so that means they should be getting it in soon. I guess it is suppose to be geared for more mature skin but so far the only reviews I have seen are from ppl in their 20’s and early 30’s.
    Oh and I am glad you spoke about the Pixi eyeshadow palette that was also a new display that was stocked and I was in the fence they seemed to be a bit pricey for drugstore

      Hehe and I totally messed up the order of what I edited because I think I have a couple more foundation reviews where I said foundation fix in them. Oh well! And I'm going to confuse everything even more because I'm jumping the new L'Oreal one a week ahead and then after it, older videos with my old camera will be filmed.... oy vey. Monday's video is a GRWM explaining my new camera and lighting, but I had to bump that one up to get an Octoly review posted in time... so then a few old camera videos will come up.... ahhhhhh well.

      I figure all of you guys from my OG audience "get" it but all of a sudden I started getting questions in messages about it, and I'm guessing it's because UA-cam must be showing my videos to more people that don't subscribe to me. It'll make filming easier because I won't be stuck putting a video on a Friday because I happened to say "Friday foundation fix" in the intro, when I would rather bump it up and post it sooner. I'll be able to put them all on any days :) And of course Fridays will always be foundation still.

  • @sweetox_9690
    @sweetox_9690 4 роки тому +2

    😂 Brutal! How could anyone not understand what you mean? Every single Foundation Friday episode you say "Where you can get your fix of foundation, in between foundation fests." Very clear. Simple concept 🤦 I feel quite sorry for anyone too daft to grasp it. Although, I can't help but wonder if people are being deliberately obtuse? It is the Internet afterall🤨
    And the word fix, while yes is used in reference to an addict acquiring their drug of choice, it is also commonly used to describe a variety of things a person might take pleasure in. So much pleasure to the extent we might exaggerate an addiction so to speak. Oh man there is a word that describes it perfectly, and it's on the tip of my tongue. Smh, it is going to drive me bonkers all night until I think of it! Anyway, I am fairly certain it references fix in such a way in the dictionary. This weekend I am going to get my babe fix, and once again, binge watch season three of Animal Kingdom. And tonight I needed a sugar fix, so I went through McDonald's drive-through, and ordered two ice cream cones. Hmmmm, yeah that example is embarrassing...just..just forget I mentioned it! 😳
    Isn't it sort of sad though, that you have to change the name of your series, because the Internet is that simple? Ok! I better take my over worked, catty a$$ to bed before I say something truly snarky! Have a great weekend Shelly! 😊🤘

    It's funny that you mention that the peeling gels help your retin-a peelies. They do for me as well. A lot of people don't believe in them, stating that they really don't remove dead skin. I understand their logic, but all I know is that my face has a LOT less dead skin after I use them, and makeup application is proof. I buy inexpensive ones from Amazon, but I'm sure the Saturday Skin is nice. The CURE is the one I'd buy if I was going to spend a lot of cash.

    😆 so frustrating to see you try this and have a bit of concern about clinging to dry, etc. I think it looks great on you, but understand in person it's a whole other situation. I am considerably older and live in a cold harsh climate and have been using the Double Lasting Foundation by Etude House has SPF of 42. Not sure if you want to give it a go. You may remember I never powder and this is a semi matte, but it really works well with a very well squeezed out sponge and easily gives a medium coverage. I probably already told you about this :( ..... I'm in the Amber shade however being an Asian foundation they go very light with I believe 6 colors. Thank you Shelly for your great review! You do look very pretty. I also like that shade of red lipstick on your complexion. Too bad the eyeshadow was difficult to work with. Pixie products seems sort of overpriced for what they are. Speaking of cool toned eyeshadows, are you interested in the Enduring Love palette by Sydney Grace? I just got mine and I love it! I got the deep one. Sydney Grace really did an iconic thing by making a light and deep version of the same palette. GENIUS!!
    Back to the foundation...I am very frustrated with Clarins' shade range. I can't believe that they only have 2 "deeper" shades. Just going off of the shade names on their website, I would most likely be the next to last shade. How is that even possible?! I lived in Korea for 2 years, and I understand that the population is primarily homogeneous in both Korea and Japan. So if it's a product that is exclusively sold in those countries, I sort of understand...sort of. But Clarins is definitely an international brand, so that shade range is terrible...just terrible. Even though they have a shade that would probably work for me, I can't support this. I don't think it's too much to ask to have a good balance of shades, not necessarily a lot of shades. For example I love the Physician's Formula Healthy foundation. In the past they have not been known for an inclusive shade range. But when they came out with that one, they had 24 shades. And more importantly, it was well balanced. So b/c they listened to the criticism and made a change, I bought it (I like to vote w/ my dollars). Just so happens that I love the formula as well. Win/win. Another good example is Fenty. When they initially launched with 40 shades, I actually didn't have a good shade match. But I didn't complain b/c what they were selling was equally balanced across the board. So it's less about if a brand has a good match for me, and more about attempting to cover a wide range of skin tones. I really hate having to still think about this in 2020. It's getting old. But I feel like if I don't continue to speak up and let brands know how I feel, then options for not only myself, but my mom, my aunt, cousins and eventually my daughter will go back to being hard to find. I don't think that you should stop reviewing foundations with a poor range. If anything, I think it's helpful. Because if you and I have similar skin types and issues and you like the foundation, but I don't have a shade (or it's a crappy range),then it could be a learning opportunity for those brands. Although, nowadays, I really doubt that these companies don't know. I think a case could be made, that they just don't care.😔

    • @goow
      @goow 4 роки тому +1

      At this point you would think companies would get the hint, especially when you look at the accolades that go around when another company releases a very inclusive shade range. You're right - it's ridiculous that we still have to deal with this in 2020.

      I was looking at other foundations in their lines and some have many more.
