This particular car is fitted with the marvelous M-Performance exhaust which features more or less a straight pipe (incl. CAT) in Track Mode. Although that the standard exhaust already sounds amazing this one adds that extra 30% on top you do not want to miss anymore. In addition this car is fitted with the manual transmission instead of the DCT which makes it even more thrilling to drive and a unique place to sit in. @@soldier2.041 The BMW comes with a manual option and has the natural balance of RWD on its side, but the RS3 is absolutely beastly sounding and launches like nothing else with that AWD, and while not as good in corners they have made significant progress from older Haldex based systems.
I'm cross-shopping the two right now and it's honestly a really difficult decision, especially since I live in an area that gets a lot of snow and AWD is a huge plus.
This is way better than the M2 comp!

Beautiful sound... not overly hysteric like most V8 M3 owners tend to modify their exhaust for.
Incredibly similar to the 135i with the performance exhaust - not that much a surprise since it's basically the same engine I know but still fun to hear so much of my own 135i in this M2.
If it wasn't that expensive (read; if I didn't live in car-hating-Denmark) I'd have gone M2 myself.
Thumbs up on the video - as someone else mentioned; no annoying music, just pure engine sound.

Meiner Meinung RS 3
Ganz klar sogar der Rs3 ein bisschen tuning und das ding klingt genau so wie er ist ein halber v 10 :D
Nur dass der RS3 auf der Rennstrecke oder allgemein im Bereich der Fahragilität gegen den M2 den Kürzeren zieh. Den sportlichen Charakter den der M2 hat, hat der RS3 nicht (Beschleunigung zählt nur bedingt zum sportlichen Charakter)
Ihr habt beide recht aber Fakt ist .. Beide Autos sowohl Rs3 als auch M2 sind absolut geile Wagen !! ;)
Da haste Recht, aber beim normalen Fahren tut sich da ja nicht viel und von daher ist der RS3 mit dem 5 Zylinder schon richtig top.

Having the engine sound pumped through speakers (aka Active Sound) drives me nuts. It's like making a paintwork and then dumping it in a dark room. Can't understand why.
Because the I6 sounds.. terrible for a proper engine. still better than any I4
I think it's because alot of cars have to be turbocharged and this will make them quieter and bad sounding so this is to enhance the sound.

Yes, its automatic, but I think you can't turn it off.
I think I've read that it's off while in track mode with ESC off, but not sure. I like to use blips myself, so without having the possibility to turn this off while still running with ESC, the M2 is out of the game. Too bad, I really like it :/.
There are re-flashes for all new M cars to disable auto rev matching in all modes. Don't worry, there is a solution

@@morsare7349 exactly same engine, same car manufacturer, they are not really identical in terms of sound, one is shorter piped but with higher revs there is similar rumbling coming up.
Normally I take RS3 and TTRS as the same car, S3 and vw golf R as the same car, S4 and S5, S6 and S7, RS4 and RS5, RS6 and RS7, technically you may agree, perhaps for arguments sake you got a point.
