The best thing about your videos is that you zoom in and highlight the icons and corresponding numbers. Then you explain what the numbers mean. Very few other video producers do that and they just very quickly show the screens and expect you know what they are talking about. I had a real hard time understanding all the icons and figures mean.
@Tom905 Thanks! I’m glad to hear you find the highlights useful! I spend extra time to make those, so it’s good to hear they work well. I’m glad you’re finding my content helpful!
@ArktixOfficial YES! I agree with is comment so much! You are SO helpful and please continue to do what you're doing! The extra time it takes for you is MUCH appreciated and does not go unnoticed!
Interestingly enough (regarding early game outfits), you can actually acquire the superior blue rarity Nora Sentinel outfit before you leave the Daunt, as the stitcher at Barren Light sells it for just under 500 shards plus a Skydrifter circulator. Now, you can't normally hunt Skydrifters until you leave the Daunt, BUT there is one of the aforementioned circulators in a treasure chest found in the "Deep Trouble" side-quest (where you have to rescue two trapped miners) which you can access after you've drained the water and pushed a crate up to the raised platform with the yellow tightrope attached, which is where the treasure chest is. Of course 500 shards might seem a little steep at this stage of the game, but considering how much better it is than anything else you can get right now - or indeed for quite some time - you might want to take the time to grind it out.
@GENigma-X73 Hey this is a great tip! I didn't realize you could get a Skydrifter circulator from that quest! That's a great early game "hack"! Thanks for sharing!
@@ArktixOfficial Thanks! Though I fear I may have been a little premature in posting this without further testing. I did indeed acquire one this way doing a "story" difficulty run on the PS4 version purely for trophies as you can only auto-pop them going from PS4 to PS5 and not the other way around. Emboldened by this, I have just started a "very hard" playthrough on PS5 and was dismayed to discover that the aforementioned chest only contained a Grazer circulator, but a chest in the "Twighlight path" gave me a Clawstrider circulator. So it's possibly random or difficulty related what you get. In any case, the showdown in "The Embassy" - so you can get a Skydrifter circulator afterwards legit - even on "very hard" isn't that difficult. Just stick to the ruins for cover and pick your shots carefully during the first two stages, and for Grudda, simply douse him with acid twice inbetween breaking his shield and his armour just literally falls off, leaving you fighting an angry naked painted dude whom you can shoot anywhere - providing you can keep your aim steady from laughing too hard that is...
@GENigma-X73 Oh interesting. I didn’t realize the chest loot might change depending on difficulty. I’ll have to test that out a bit. And lol yeah I remember I got Grudda naked too. It’s was hard to fight him while laughing 😂
The Oseram Explorer outfit is great simply because you can outfit it to be fantastic for Melee combat, which is very strong early on. The resistance isn't even that important.
Great video & solid tips for the early game! I would also recommend purchasing & upgrading the Ropecaster available at Barren Light. Particularly helpful to tie down a machine or two if you're outnumbered. Or if you want to hit a specific component or cannister. For example, you could sneak up on a Longleg & tie it down with 3 ropes on Very Hard. Use your Shock Warrior Bow to shoot one of the cannisters. Then switch to your Hunter Bow to shoot off one of it's Wing Burners. Shock Explosion from the cannister. Shoot off the other Wing Burner. Shoot the 2nd cannister with another Shock arrow. Second explosion. Then finish it off with a critical strike or a bomb. Leaplashers can be a handful in a group, but they'll get tied down with 2 ropes. You can easily tie down 2 or 3 of them real quick & then take them on one by one as the ropes will keep them downed for quite a bit.
Thanks just made it to the part in the story where you unlock the shops. So many things I don’t understand and I think your channel will help me out tremendously. 🙏
Bro I'm 16 hours in and needed this! Typed in best loadout early and everyone else saying get legendary weapons early and spoiling the game, this is what I needed green weapons I can upgrade early 😁❤️
Your guide videos continue to impress. Can't wait to hear your recommendations on the blue/purple weapons. I'm at the halfway point in the story, so the sooner the better.
Thanks Furious! I’m definitely working on more gear guides. It’s tough to keep up the pace playing and making videos at the same time, but they’re coming I promise! Machine hunting videos too!
I really appreciate your videos! I’m pretty alright with FPS games but when it comes to these kind of games where you have to upgrade and use special effects for it. I am super illiterate when it comes to these things. I enjoy playing it but not knowing I could’ve enjoyed it more if I knew how to use the weapons correctly. Thanks for “dumbing” it down for me! Peace & blessings!
Just found your channel! I appreciate the way you explain things and how easy you are to follow while explaining things! Thank you! Will be watching for a long time to come now! 🤩
I'd like to see a video for recommended Blue equipment, as the Blues will likely be what you use for most of the game. They are pretty strong & are still relatively inexpensive to upgrade.
Many early armors have great weaves locked on them. Such as Melee Damage, Quiet Movement, Stealth Ranged/Tear, etc. They should be upgraded just to grab the weave they contain.
I just finished my main quest and gotta say I really sucked...you've become my goto guy, love your vids man...my opinion, you're the best of the bunch...I have learned a lot, thanks for 'Diligence'
This was a really good guide! Honestly acid arrows I feel are amazing early game. Two arrows on the canisters take out a bristleback! I haven’t really gotten much time to mess with the thunder sling or behemoth bow, what do you think of them?
Thanks Plusle! I’m glad you think so. Yeah acid arrows are definitely strong. They kinda feel like another version of freeze to me. The thunder sling and behemoth bow are pretty handy. If you upgrade them all the way they deal a little more damage than the normal versions (explosive blastsling and swift warrior bow). They also have the overdraw mechanic like a Banuk bow, so you get a nice extra boost from that. The short bow has a knockdown boost which is nice too. I was using them for a while until I got better stuff, but they aren’t really OP or anything. I think that’s good though. I wouldn’t want people to think the game is pay-to-win. So what did you get, Collector’s or Regalla Edition?
Oh nice. I didn’t realize that came with the weapons. That good. More people can get them then. I got the Regalla. I’m a big fan…maybe too big of a fan :)
The game pretty much changed for me when I bought the Glowblast bow and used Braced Shot with it. I originally got it because it has great tearblast arrows, but I ended up not using those very often.
Hey bro quistion, hope u can answer. How long do i use this gear? Now i fight lvl 20 machines with this gear, but its impossible to tear of parts and stuff. Im lvl 17 my self now. I saw the vid about the midgame gear. Should i focus only on that now first? Or also buy other blue stuff?
I would progress to better gear as soon as you can. If you don’t really like the gear grind, you don’t have to fully upgrade every one of the gear sets I recommend, but I would progress to blue and then purple gear as quickly as you can. Green gear won’t get you very far, especially on higher difficulties.
I can't wait for the third installment, like aloy and gaia gearing up the earth to fight you know who... I hope they have 4rth and 5th installment, where aloy goes to space and search for the enemy, 5th installment fight enemy in the enemy planet, like horizon forbidden planet
Dude spoilers! Lol. But yes, it will be super cool to see where they take the story. So many directions it could go. It was cool to hear them say this is just the beginning in the Call of The Mountain trailer!
@@ArktixOfficial By skills? +2 Critical Strike+ from Oseram do nothing early because we dont have crit chance boost early, and next armor you recomend - Nora sentinel have same skills as Nora champion, but with large values?
@@drsheldoncooper2951 Ah gotcha. Yeah it depends on your playstyle a bit. If you don't want to use any melee and only ranged then the Champion would be the better choice. I think you're a bit confused about Critical Strike+ though. Critical Strike+ increases the power of the R1 spear stab on knocked down/stunned machines. It doesn't boost critical hit chance of ranged weapons. So, I like to recommend the Oseram because, early on, your best option for dealing damage is doing R1 Critical Strikes with the spear. If you only want to use ranged weapons, then the Champion is a great choice.
Ah ok. I don’t mind them, but I do think many of them could look cooler. I definitely leave the headpiece setting turned off. I don’t like most of the headpieces.
As I mentioned on your other comment, I’m currently working on a mid-game gear video. I’m also planning to do a mid-game upgrades video like I did with the early game.
The Frost Blastsling, fire hunter bow and shock warrior bow are all crap. The super low elemental buildup isn't useful as the only enemies it would be viable against can be killed easily anyway so ur just wasting ur time and ammo trying to deal status effects.
Sorry you feel that way, but we don’t really appreciate the negativity here. Why not make some suggestions for the gear you would recommend instead? We may not be on the same page about what the “early game” is. I’m considering the early game basically everything up to Barren Light and a little beyond. I think if you use that definition you’ll see there really aren’t many other options for gear. I agree the early weapons are weak, but I think this is the best you can use up to and a little beyond Barren Light. In my second gear video I show some good early upgrades. And as I mentioned on your other comment I’ll be uploading a couple of mid-game gear recommendation videos in the next few days. After that, I’m planning to do late-game and late-game upgrades and then at least one end-game recommended gear video.
