In the 1950s mine was a broken broom handle and the newest invention...a springy clothespin. My friend made an over/under with two clothespins.
now id seal that up with plastic and make it super strong and longlasting . that is awesome

Incredible, but how do you replace the rubber bands serving as the firing mechanism at 2:36-2:46 when it degrades and dries out? Can the cardboard gun be disassembled to replace that part of the mechanism?
