At the top of my "bucket" list to perform after 40 years of opera and choral singing. A 19 year old Mahler shows us his developed genius. At least I get to do Symphony No. 8 at Carnegie Hall in November, 2017.
Mahler - Das Klagende Lied - Salzburg opening concert, 2011Anna Prohaska, soprano -- Dorothea Roschmann, soprano -- Anna Larsson, alto -- Johan Botha, tenorWiener Philharmoniker -- Piere Boulez
There is only one soprano here. Can you explain please?Very, very, very, well played by everybody !!!!!
@@ff516 ...no, I can't explain..!! ...my wishes for Christmas..!!
@@ff516 that’s because Anna Prohaska only sings in Berg’s Lulu suite, which forms the first part of the concert.
Ever, Mahler is self-revelatory, exploring the realm of the Heart. Leiden!
Amazing. All of Mahler in this op. 1. Wonderful
Das klagende Lied - para nós - a Canção do Lamento. Muito bela...requiem para o meu saudoso JoaKIM.
All the hallmark mahlerian sounds are there ready to blossum in his later works
Lots of beautiful sounds graciously stimulated by his good friend Rott!
wow, so much of Mahler in Danny Elfman's soundtracks....Batman, Nightmare before Christmas :)
Tge conductor is Pierre Boulez, who studied with Mahler's disciple, Otto Klemperer!
Magnífico
I find this work quite boring despite its colourful orchestration.
