Get your villagers lined up before updating ya'll. In the new update it'll be way harder to get the trades you want.
Mate, even cured villagers are been nerfed… villagers cured down to 1 emerald is now back to their normal prize…
Yeah sadly I hadn't gotten that done yet. I logged in today saw it update clicked to play and saw 1.20.20.
DA**. Was NOT ready for that yet! 😖
@@jcofortco The only thing you could have done was lock Trades of villagers. Even if you cured Them down to 1 emerald they would have been reset back to full price
@@mathmols8835 I was curious why people were playing previous instead of current. damn.
@@jcofortcoAs long as you don't enable experimental "villager trade rebalance", it's okay. Currently, villager change doesn't affect 'normal' worlds.
If they implement the villager trades being biome dependent I might legitimately quit minecraft like getting villagers is hard enough but now if you want all the enchants you have to transport it from like 9 different biomes and you can’t even breed them because that would change thire biome
I never once traded or do selective villager breeding in Minecraft before so I decided now to build a custom village (villages with actual houses for each profession since I'm a builder and not caring about impracticality). Once I heard of biome dependent trading, I was intrigued since I could do a lot more village builds and would lead me to do build a transport system now. I guess we have our opinions on this villager update.
@@lckyminer_2256The difference is that you could still do what you wanted regardless of the change. Some of us are now shoehorned into playing differently than we want to.
mojang nerfing villagers does NOT sit right with me. imagine having to travel thousands of blocks WITH A VILLAGER multiple times just to make a villager trading hall
Ong literally gave us something that nobody asked for
@@Nateohroonie Istg its so unnecessary
I'm actually pissed. They really didn't have to do that. I literally put hours into transporting villagers with a boat and a water bucket
@@eminakaratas11 its so stupid to make villager trading halls require traveling up to thousands of blocks wird a boat or a minecart. i guess the only alternative could be the nether roof but thats still so unnecesary, plus theres people who dont go to the nether BEFORE trading with villagers in a world where theyre trying to keep it safe, like some hardcore worlds
@@ameel1ar Exactly
I can see this update not being used because of villager discounts. Some people have worked hard to create villager trading halls. It may have always been a quirk and not correct but I have hours into breeding and trading villagers. It also does not lock in the trade price. It updates the villager to the lowest price available in the new update.
Breeding villagers just sounds wrong to me lol
@@FlintSparkedStudios lol
@johnirby8847 if your trades are locked in you're fine
@@Neebooneeboono they're not, multi cured villagers have been retroactively changed as well so if you had villagers u cured multiple times their prices have reverted to what they'd be if they had only been cured once.
@laurel5216 same thing happened to me when the update hit, and he was already discounted to the lowest level. Now, my villagers are living their best lives working beneath my iron farm, since they basically serve no other purpose anymore 😊. If you want a bunch of emeralds, I recommend getting a bunch of fishermen villagers and a fish/bone meal farm.
The enderpearl one is great. People use floating enderpearls as a sort of respawn beacon and having it still be floating without going away is a nice addition.
You forgot to mention that they removed herobrine, check the change log again
These villager updates are bottom tier ngl.
Now we just need a fast eating enchantment so you can consume the end fruit sooner...
Helmet enchantment, maybe? Or chestplate to not overwhelm the helmet?
I'm excited to see what they are going to do with the new shaders in bedrock
Can console get shaders tho
@@spencer7678 Yes if you join a map that has a PBR texture pack you can enable it
Yeah

« Cool villager changes »💀
New mob coming in Minecraft live mob vote.
The cricket, an insect that makes more "ambient noises" while also warning of a potential hostile mobs nearby, particularly at night. No more nasty creeper surprises!
The villager rebalance is just another non-reason to explore. It would only take more time to set up and a slight dent in your resource storage
my biggest worry about the villager librarian update is how expensive its gonna be to add those enchantments up now that you have to merge more enchantments together to get the highest level of enchantment
@@capfan302, While this is true right now, they plan on changing it so you best get your trading farm set up now
@@capfan302 im pretty sure they said they were going to cap the levels
@capfan302 bro spreading misinformation
the cartographer updates are pure GOLD!! the librarian change (while i see the point) is the wrong change!
I'm staying on 1.20.1. Already saved the version. And I think if I decide I want to play in the newer releases, I'll start in 1.20.1 and build my trading hall before updating the world.
dont worry the villager changes are only experimental rn which means you can technically jump into 1.20.2 and just not have experiments on!
@@wattlesplaysDoes this include bedrock 1.20.30 as well?
@@SALMON71000yes
@tajkhan8873 yeah he made a video about that one too and I believe it's experimental on there too
@@v-niftytrickster4166I think it's on beta test, but I need to check
Wonder how the change will effect the discount strat of bedrock. Rather than curing I build my trade halls in zombie spawners with an auto grinder. When a zombie villager dies the villagers give me discounts. I never see this mechanic talked about so I wonder if it’ll slip through the cracks
imma stay at 1.20.1
And you’re not alone…
By the way, you can add experiments to existing worlds by editing your level.dat file with nbt explorer! I did this to retroactively add bundles to my world so archaeology would be easier.
also slightly mad the update came out today, i updated all my mods yesterday lmao
Since experiments are datapacks, you should be able to simple copy them to an old world while creating a new one from the temp folder.
Love your vids Wattles :)
Thanks!
did anyone else hear the grindstone sound 2:25
also my goodness the random command is amazing for map dev's!
The cycle discount prices doesnt even show up anymore. All my stonemasons are now all 14 stones for 1 emerald. I was sure I locked them them. One for one.
My prices went up. In Bedrock Edition, if you made some major discounts, they will be ALL GONE. Hero of the Village is now essential.
I don't get why everyone is so obsessed with the end of reinfecting. Only one cure already gives a huge discount.
@alessandrosilvafilho8527 why buy something for $30 when you can buy it for $1 after you infect them with illnesses at 5 different times?
@@alessandrosilvafilho8527Huge discount? It literally only discount like 1% of the original prize…
I've got mending for one emerald and pumpkin/melon as well. The ones that require more items like rotten flesh tend to have less discount, but it is like 20% to 30%. Anyway, the pumpkin/melon is enough to completely negate any needs of emeralds.
@@mathmols8835 Curing a zombie villager once gives permanent 5 item discount for normal trades and 20 item discount for special trades like enchanted books, armors or explorer maps. For example, if you cure a librarian villager who was selling one emerald for 24 papers, the villager will now sell one emerald for 19 papers. And if that villager was selling mending book for 24 emeralds, it will now sell it for just 4 emeralds.
So yeah, the discount is very huge.
I really don’t like the changes for the villagers. Who thought this was a good idea???
Minecraft screwed me. They changed the trade prices of my pre-existing cleric villagers. I cured all 15 of them 4 times each to max out their discounts and now they all charge me as if I only cured them once. I’m angry with how much time and resources I spent in getting discounts, PLUS they’re not supposed to changed things that already exist in the world. I’m livid
I just checked, they also changed all of my farmers villagers
@@ryanb33nat least only one curing is enough for the one pumpkin/melon one emerald trade.
i read the wiki bor this update is crazy like this changes the whole game so much
once they drop, can you review some of the different bedrock shader packs wattles?
Hopefully they do something about the new F3 info that extends into the direct center of the screen with UI Scaling 3, particularly as that newly displayed info should just be part of the F3+Q help output.
I'm finally playing Minecraft with the updates (I didn't want to take my laptop out of S Mode to do it, but I finally gave in this week). I'm excited!
I noticed the command history on my server today and then I just saw your video it's so cool, small QOL feature
i have a mending villager closed in my trading center, so when the time comes, i won't need to look for a new villager in a swamp, at least that's what i think
Love you wattles, if I’m looking for info or just anything Minecraft, I come to you first ;)
Is healing villagers multiple times for better discounts part of experimental or is that a permanent change ?
It's experimental for now . . . . But it might be made permanent in the future :(
I'm sure it will pass. The librarian changes might be optimized, though.
It doesnt matter if you cure Them multiple times anymore since they are all reversed back to their original prize
i havent played survival minecraft since 1.9, this is crazy!
1.20.2 RELEASED?! I didn't know that! Also, something you missed from yesterday's guide episode: propagules can be planted underwater.
OMG
That's not new at all.
That was always a thing :)
it was posible since 1.19.1 I think. I did it in a 1.19 server to grow an artifitial mangrove swamp
Downside is gona need a few Cartographers now when one was usually enough (unless you liked the banner trades).
Minecraft updates are getti g like that time you spent £100 on fillet steak, then when you go to cook it it's been updated to a bigmac
im sad to see the old lapis icon go. i think it was actauly kinda cool they where two dif styles of interface, for two very dif workstations, but no, i guess everything has to match. :c sigh
Villager update?? you mean crazy stupid villager nerf. I'll spend more time making shortcuts then i'll spend base building or farming.
So taking villagers to different bioms and locking their trades. Ok and then moving them back to your base. They better work out moving villagers easier.
Why would people even bother with villagers anymore? Biome locked, trash Enchanted books, cant even be cured more than 1 time anymore
Personally I really like the idea of building villages in all the different Biomes, because I like building villages in general and It would be cool to have a network of railways between them all - but I can understand why people who just wanna trade and grind out certain items would be mad
That audience cheer was a signal strength 17 on the skulk sensor.
So if you lock the villager trades in 1.20.2, will the trades still be the same when the trading change happens (supposedly in 1.20.3)?
This update forces more exploration. I'm not upset at all
Forces, kind of the key word there. Some people prefer a different method.
youre my favorite youtuber
You tricked me with the Navi "listen!", that is my notification sound on my phone.
Two questions about villagers if anybody can answer them, if I take a villager from one bio, that is already maxed out or even just has a designated job will it keep the trades from that biome even if I bring it to a new one and my second question is if I grab two villagers from separate biomes, and I breed them in another biome. Would the child be of the new biome or of the original biome?
I’m pretty sure the maxed villager will keep the trades even when moved to a different biome. As for the breeding in a separate biome, the child gets the skin of the biome it’s spawned in, not the biome of the ‘parents’. I’m not 100% sure but I think this is the case :)
@@mariellesylvana8050 oh ok. So its not as big of a nerf as I thought
The trades are locked to the villager of the biome (the skin). So, a swamp villager (the one with purple clothes and a leaf on the head) will always have the mending book trade no matter where it is. In Java, the villagers can carry the biome of the parents or the one they were born, but in bedrock is just the one they were born (I hope this gets changesd too)
as someone who makes villager breeders and trading halls all the time. I kinda these experimental changes. They are way too overpowered
That mob attack range bug fix will be nice for hardcore players whose runs ended from jank hits through corners.
So safe to say this would be a snooze of an update, if it wasn't for the reporting villagers changes making everyone mad
i love the cave up date and i didn’t believe it so i went to the latest snapshot (1.20.2) and OMG I FOUND NOT LYING FOUND 12 DIAMOND JUST ON THE SURFACE AREA NOT EVEN LOKKING UNDERNEATH OR IN THE WALL IT WORKS *then i accidentally walked into an ancient city and um may have summoned the warden*
why does it feel like the last minecraft update came out yesterday 😭
Good Night, Wattles
Hi thanks for your information you so much for us thankuuu
I’ve never really used one of the zombie curing things😂
Well that just destroyed villager trading. All my closest biomes that are not Savannas are all more than 3500 blocks away
My only problem with the nerfs is that it doesn't acknowledge that some people are playing wirhout the hardware to explore too much without making the file unstable
So what's the new best way to get mending if I start a new world? Fishing still an option?
Has anyone played this update yet? I made a creative world to test the mending trade and so far none of the 3 master librarians ive made offers a mending book, im in a swamp biome ofc
An update came out bringing crawling to bedrock ps4, does that add the villager curing/trading update?
Looks like 1.20.1 is the patch I'm gonna play for a loooong time
I did my cycle trading and it still reset all my librarians to there original trade cost before the update 😭
Yep, the Update destroyed villagers and Trading halls
@@mathmols8835 makes me want to set my whole trading hall a blaze. My creeper farm is also not working I have to check that out tomorrow
I was playing bedrock on a cross platform server and the server is an older version than mine. All furnaces, and anvils changed to the “Update” dirt block and are unusable bleh
They added mending books to be found in ancient cities now? I thought it was just for the armor and tools?
I have a trading hall in my 1.20.1 world and a mending villager If i update it to 1.20.2 will all of the villagers change ?
Unfortunately my trading hall is no longer OP. Planned ahead by getting all the "1" trades i could but it all got reverted upon update.
Paper min is 18 for all Librarians.
Same... two months of work wasted...
(I have a trading hall with all villager
trades)
No one forces you to update. Enjoy the version you like :)@@ilviriel5349
This is one of those updates that I do not intend to change to for a while 😂
Its kinda wild how those patches cant even fix 1.20 new features like the generation of ruins and archeology
So, the villager changes are only if you make a experimental world for now?
Bro , on pocket edition everytime i die and its on automatic respawn, on a server i die and my hotbars disapear and i have to rejoin to fix it
Hey Wattles.
Even villagers that have been cured down to 1 emerald (5 cures) have been nerfed back to their original prize or to whats equal to 1 cure
This guy's voice sounds alot different now,
Actually love his voice Even more than before.
From now on will villagers not discount anything after 1dt time cure and the change in diamond generation the chunks i have explored but not find the diamonds of that chunks will also ve changed and increse the number of diamonds i that chunks
Maybe i just have a skill issue but i hate that "netherite upgrade templates" were added. It just makes upgrading diamond stuff to netherite unnecessarily hard, especially if you cant find a bastion.
You aren't the only one to hate it. No one likes the netherite upgrade templates because its tedious and annoying to obtain.
Did they actually remove trident and crossbow enchantments
I will lose my damn mind if they make enchantments from villagers exclusive go biomes.
So now we can make an actual roulette table using that command 🎉🎉
“And he wattled away🎶 wattle wattle…….. til the very next day. “
Yo wattles great vids bro, fairly new subscriber but been keeping up with your new vids. Great work dude.
Looks like I'm playing on 1.20.1 for the foreseeable future
Why ?
@sajeucettefoistunevaspasme4400 This is a greatly disliked update
@@cultofsquidward4100the disliked part is the villager rebalance which only takes place if you enable the experimental settings
so if you update to 1.20.2 you won't be affected by it unless you REALLY want to
@@sajeucettefoistunevaspasmeHow do I not accept the experimental changes but still update it to 1.20.2?
8:20 WOW I LOVE IT WHEN MONECRAFT TAKES AWAY FEATURES
Nooooo not villagers
8:40 was that a Java issue? I’ve never had a chorus fruit fail lol
The Librarian nerf is just sad
Will more diamonds get added to my existing worlds? Or do I have to make a new world for the update to add them diamonds in?
Most likely in unexplored chuks
Dang.
When will the shader update come out on ps5
The diamond changes are bad imo. Diamonds are meant to be rare and difficult to get but with the release of the cave update, they generated commonly in caverns making them easy to obtain. Now, they are even easier to obtain making them feel less valuable and rare.
That's because they added the netherite trim, to upgrade diamond armor into netherite armour, which requires diamonds to craft.
TL:DR: Netherite armour costs tons of diamonds to make
@@koala1109 ok thx
I disagree, I think netherite has already replaced that part of diamonds and now it's just annoying if diamonds are super rare because they have so many new uses. I want to be able to do the fun parts of Minecraft without mining for 20 hours haha
So if I have villager with the discounts already they will stay in my world like that right?
Does anyone else have any issues with a major lag like it takes 1 whole minute to eat one pork chop any tips on how to fix
Yeah, I'm just going to play my VR version now.
i am happy for 1.20.2 i hardly do any villager farms and i am kinda happy about the 1 time zombie villager to villager again then just going down to 1 emerald only
I didn't know mods had an attack radius
It’s kinda hard how they changed the block breaking it taking like 2 seconds to break now it’s so annoying 😢
they should introduce villager tasks and a skill tree for more uses for the exp bar and the tasks are for the discounts
No
They also removed herobrine again XD
yesss more diamonds for me now
but why does the water sound like that now 😭😭 I hate it so much
I believe bedrock already updated the villager discount
