Thank you, most helpful in reducing the environmental waste of throwing away half full toner cartridges. I did the same on my previous Brother printer, and it cut my toner bill down by about 50-75%.

Thanks for the video! December 2021, MFC-L3770CDW unit- this works if the top is open first. The toner reset message must be showing at the start. The button presses cancel/back together then back alone must be done within less than a second on my unit.

Also works for the MFC L3770CDW in which I had put 3 aftermarket color cartridges (CMY) and the magenta wasn't recognized. Was ready to return it to the vendor when I tried this and it worked fine. If even just one cartridge is not recognized the printer will not function.

Can you please show some printing samples ? I can not find anyone who used this printer to test a photo and or text print. I wanna buy this exact printer, but how long does the toner last? Iknow it depents on what and how much u print, but a rough estimate?

Yes but once you’re in the reset menu you can then choose which of the cartridge counters needs resetting. When I did mine, only the black was showing as in need of replacement so I just reset that one.

Aldin Adam jerjas - Yes, I found the answer . Rotate the switch gear at the right hand side of each toner cartridge ( you need to take them out the printer). The machine will now fully reset. It can be trial & error getting the switch gear just right, but it is pretty easy. Google brother toner cartridge switch gear for a better idea.
@@markoreilly4433 Thanks man! I was forced to change the toner despite it had a lot more color in it. I will try this method next time it signals the toner is empty🙏
I found other way to reset Cartridges without old firmware on OEM toners: remove toner, take out the chip, take out battery, wait couple of seconds for reset chip, place battery insert toner and after few seconds will work. The only bad thing its you need to redo it if the printer power off (credit to smoothrat from reddit)
@@mortens583 I have the impression that it started after I turned printer of/on, maybe the chip in the cartridge then becomes faulty. It is a non brother cartridge.

The menue works, but for some cartdiges a reset are not possible. Is there a maximum counter for resetting the status ?

You need to press the back button straight away after you release the back+cancel combination of buttons.

sadly but it did not work for me, the toner level indicators became 100 % again but it still didn't start printing.
Had the same Problem, it started working again after restarting the device I was sending the Print order from.
I also reset all Y cartiges visible in the reset menu even tho there was only one in the Printer (my Y cartige was "empty")

For your information, It doesnt Work on the starter Toner more than 2 Times!! The normal Toner work infinite

Keep trying by pressing back (clear) and Exit, Doesn't work. Will look at other suggestions. FRUSTRATED!!!!
