Hi Mystic. With Lenormand, you want to limit how many meanings you have per card. Keep it down to no more than 3 as you begin. Do readings on yourself or on books you are readings or movies you have watched to help you connect with those card meanings. But it isn't like Tarot where you have 50 possibilities per card. With Lenormand you have to trust and go.
I absolutely love this exercise! Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and experience with us. Previously, I was always told that Lenormand wasn't interesting or fun, but now I regret not looking into it further, sooner! I absolutely love it! I got my first 2 decks this week and did my first reading with my friend today. I read for her and she read for me. (It's much less intimidating than the 78 card Tarot deck system) I love how blunt it is... and how the pictographs work as "sentences". Your videos are extremely helpful, and I plan to watch them all! :)
Thank you for this nice note. It is definitely interesting and fun when approached the right way. It does take a bit of time in the beginning to learn the language but once you have the very basics down it just flies and is crazy accurate. All you need is one very clear deck and you are on your way. Don't get fancy artsy ones because they are harder to read.
Went to you site, very nice! Back in 2013 I read the tarot for a friend. I read three rows of five separately. The first row I told her she would become ill with many hospital visits and stays. I could not say what the illness would be other then something life changing. The second row I told her that her son would have to leave California tech for another university because of better financial aide plus he would need to work part time because she would leave her job because of illness. Third line she had been living with a guy for 7 years and her son was not his. I told her a guy from her past would contact her and that she would leave Roy. This guy from the past would care for her during illness etc. and that they would get married and he would buy them a home. Six months passed, and she was acting very distant, but we still talked. Well she said your card reading was 100% right and that she had breast cancer and would be going to McGee women’s hospital in Pittsburgh PA. Her son had to leave CA tech and go to Rutgers, and he did find work to pay for his education along with better financial aide. She said Steve came to town, she had a crush on him in high school, and he contacted her. She left Roy for Steve. Steve lived 30min from McGee hospital so she moved in with him. He cared for her. The hell she went through having both breast removed with reconstructive surgery. They are married and he bought them a home. I stopped touching the cards after that because it freaked me out. She is still alive but the cancer returned on her tail bone. She is 48 now. Recently I wanted to start reading. I found a guy who was willing to teach me. He said his method was that of Crowley and order of golden dawn. It’s been amazing as he showed me the card counting method and how some count aces as 5 and others 11. I use 5. The thing is trying to find people who will let me read for them. I have tried reading for myself but find it very difficult.
HI Donnaleigh, I love your teaching method and you are very clear, but one thing I noticed here is that the card you are calling the Tower is actually the Mountain 21, not 19. This video is many years old, but I just happened to be going thru Mary K. Greer's links and you were on there so I took a look. xxxra
Yes, you are correct, and the creator of this deck brought it to my attention the day i released it. Oops! I wasn't going to remake it, as the information is there, even if my vision missed that card. Good call on your part. You have great eyes! Thanks for watching! Xoxo
@@DivineWhispers Thanks for responding and as we all know, often it is the odd glitch or what might seem like a mistake, that teaches us something even more profound!
When you read lenormand cards, with so many different meanings and combinations..are you using your intuition for discernment, like the first thing that pops into your head for the person? I am asking you how you do this yourself. Example, with my oracles, different details present for different people I am "reading" for. I find my intuition is very accurate in this area..as long as I trust and pay attention. great video! Cant wait to receive my gilded reverie, its my first lenormand deck! ty.
Just a thought, if that were the tower card, I can see the "solitude" as sort of isolation, paired with the scythe, could be isolating due to depression/something painful. Would that be feasible? I am just considering diff possibilities that pop up in my head...Love your stuff!
My apologies, I thought my question was attached to the video I was referring to. You were showing a beginner's exercise for reading two cards. The one on the left was the Tower and the one on the right was the Scythe. :)
typically, a hospital is represented by the cards Tower and Tree. It is because Tree is the card about health. But I could see that the Scythe with the Tower could represent a dentist building and possibly even an operating room.
Oh plus I ordered Alexander Musruck lenormand cards with meaning on the card, plus two books. I wonder if I should master tarot before starting lenormand but this teacher says lenormand is much easier to grasp?
hi! I'm a fairly new sucscriber and just getting started on the lenormand. I peeked through your vids. is there a particular book you recommend? I just bought myself a little note book for my practicing today and found this video yay!
So the cartomancy aspect is basically lining up with the picture on the card? Or is that part sort of a separate entity of the card? I have seen your vid on the major suits, but I do not see you discuss the say, 8 of clubs,on the mountain card. Is the basic meaning of 8 of clubs the uphill battle/obstacle? Does the number 21 on the mountain card mean anything? I am just clarifying. Thank you!
Ok so for instance if I just ask a question like - will I meet my future husband here or overseas and I get: Wine + Snake + Whip + Fox + Sun (5 card spread) Should I focus on the meaning of the first 3 cards on the left?
So there isnt a fixed meaning for combinations? For example i found some sites that have specific combinations and theire meanings...what do you think about that? And i want to also ask you... in a big spread, do you use th "mirror" way or another way? Thanks....
A good teacher will show how cards combine to create meanings, but the cards rely heavily on the question for context. Without context, the cards can go broader, but there are still limits to what they can mean.
+Donnaleigh de LaRose. Understood. So, how is it done on utube, for "Astrological/Zodiac Signs", when you do not have someone asking a question, but, instead, you're addressing hundreds of people and delivering a reading for each sign?
Lourdes Pena because each set of cards can only mean a finite set of things. Card order impacts meaning, and the question impacts context. First you have to know what the possibilities are, to learn the vocabulary. Then you learn how context is further narrowed down by the specifics of the question. My videos contain all of these pieces, just in different videos. It's a sequence of learning. All of Lenormand has different pieces. They can't all be taught at once. I've addressed them, but in separate videos.
Yes. You ate probably right. I do that all the time with this particular deck. I love this deck, but that image throws me every time. Good observation!

This is SO incredibly helpful! Played around with my cards this morning and things are clicking!

Thank you for this. I bought a lenormand deck and didn't know what I was doing 😂. This is well appreciated.
SO CREATIVE i love this way because it’s funny. I feel like my inner child is laughing and enjoying this way. I take it!
Thank you so much, Andy. That means the world to me coming from you.

Your videos are so helpful! Thank you for such a generous and compete instructions. :) Hope to see more.
Thanks Donnaleigh, I just got my first Lenormad and it rocks.
Thanks, Lori! Thanks for following the videos.

Love your explanations. they are clear , structured and very helpful in learnig. thank you so much!
Thank you so much. I love love love these cards and system but the meanings are elusive here at the beginning. Good exercise.

This is brilliant, thank you for the tutorial.
Found it very helpful. Thanks!! 👍
I loved diagraming sentences in grade school (my friends thought I was nuts) and I find this exercise SO MUCH FUN!
Omg, that was so hard for me. It's wonderful when you are good at something and enjoy it.
Just a thought, if that were the tower card, I can see the "solitude" as sort of isolation, paired with the scythe, could be isolating due to depression/something painful. Would that be feasible? I am just considering diff possibilities that pop up in my head...Love your stuff!
Thank you for this helpful video! It's definitely a method that I can use to learn how to read my Lenormand cards :)
Could the building also be seen as a hospital, given the sharp objects, danger, etc modifiers?
what is the exact card or combination you're asking about?
My apologies, I thought my question was attached to the video I was referring to. You were showing a beginner's exercise for reading two cards. The one on the left was the Tower and the one on the right was the Scythe. :)

Ahh, ok. I see the subtle difference. Thank you very much. :)
Wonderful exercise! I subscribed. Thank you!
I'm a beginner, if you pulled this combo in regard to a date night could it represent a steak house? U mentioned knives and I thought steak knives 😅
This is fabulous x
Oh plus I ordered Alexander Musruck lenormand cards with meaning on the card, plus two books. I wonder if I should master tarot before starting lenormand but this teacher says lenormand is much easier to grasp?

Great tips!! Thank you.

I think it will be nice if U use different color pen
Ok so for instance if I just ask a question like - will I meet my future husband here or overseas and I get:
Wine + Snake + Whip + Fox + Sun (5 card spread) Should I focus on the meaning of the first 3 cards on the left?
A creative writer - that suffers from a lack of imagination, or just 'blocked' in some way - might find this useful.
what the cards inserts mean in Lenormand please?
Thank you
Hello where can i find the meaning of lenormand in your website?
My website used to have it, now it is gone. My website host went out of business and in the change of servers, everything went. 😢
THANKS...
Solitude - p painful, sharp (could be someone who cuts themselves)
So there isnt a fixed meaning for combinations? For example i found some sites that have specific combinations and theire meanings...what do you think about that? And i want to also ask you... in a big spread, do you use th "mirror" way or another way? Thanks....
That's a great question.
Here is a video that will help explain.
ua-cam.com/video/7gFPDD67GmA/v-deo.html
And yes, mirroring is just one of many techniques that can be used in large spreads.
A good teacher will show how cards combine to create meanings, but the cards rely heavily on the question for context. Without context, the cards can go broader, but there are still limits to what they can mean.
Do you interpret reversed cards?
Alaina M With tarot, always. With Lenormand, never.
thanks...starting this now...
With all of these combinations, how can you choose if your receivers are requesting or listening to a reading via video?
It depends on the question being asked. The context of the cards is matched with the context of the inquirer's question.

So much thanks for this!!! :)
what deck is this?
Lenormand Revolution by Carrie Paris & Roz Foster.
*You resemble Meryl Streep here* 💞
I think there's a mistake in the tower+scythe combination. It's not tower but mountain (21)
Ok this was already pointed out 🤗
Yes. You ate probably right. I do that all the time with this particular deck. I love this deck, but that image throws me every time. Good observation!
