THANK YOU! I have been looking for the Forward Collision Assist information since I bought the car in late May. I had decided that it must not be working on my car. Now I know I just haven't tested the car out on highway conditions. You save me a visit to the dealer> Thanks again.
Great info. My only complaint about the driver display is the location of the speedometer. Because it's in a fixed location to the side (upper left), it is hidden by the steering wheel from the driver's position. I wish there was an option to move it to the upper center (above the car display).
@@CarsJubilee This is the one I'm looking for! We're *probably* getting an Ioniq 5, but the position my wife sits, the wheel entirely blocks the view of the odometer. It is putting her off us buying one. I really hoped it could be moved to the centre (where it should be!)
Learned a lot. Will see if Utility view shows trip info for mileage reimbursement purposes. Update: I discovered that it is the stacked-paper icon on the steering wheel that has the utility view mode for mileage and trip info. in just the way you explained it so well. Thank you.
Hi Victor, great info! Just to add that with latest software update the Driver assist mode has two options on toggle and it adds Driver Attention level counter besides the blind spot monitoring. The Driver Attention counter recommends break if you are driving too long.
Very helpful! I picked up a 2024 sel rwd the day before flying away on a work trip and didn't really have time to look over the manual. Coming from a manual WRX i am trying to get the ioniq a bit less invasive but still take advantage of some of the safety stuff. This info about all the modes is great to have as i learn the car. Really enjoying it so far, only put about 100 miles on it, averaging like 3.8 kw/mi. Used to have a volt so i understand the regen concept but this car is fun to punch the throttle from a slow roll!
Still waiting to get my I5 but enjoy learning about the car in advance. You do a very good job here. Over 9 months now since I ordered . we dont seem to get EVs in Ontario Canada anymore.
Love the display of the ioniq 5 my only complaint is that these things are computer screens and you should be able to change the color of the screen to pretty much anything you want. If you want green you should be able to get green for example. Pretty crazy none of these screens can do this
Ah that's true, there really could be more 'customization' if they wanted to provide that as an option. It's a very basic infotainment that they are using, serves it's purpose but would love to see them really get it closer to Tesla in terms of functionality.
Wow. You have a wealth of knowledge about I5 and EVs in general. L2 chargers and EVs both have the ability to set charging schedules. Do you have an opinion on what is operationally better to use control the charging? Thank you.
Thanks! For me it's come down to which system/software works better. Hyundai's app is really slow and glitchy so I've tried not to rely on it at all. That leaves the charger for that example. But the Tesla app is extremely responsive and easy to use so I much prefer to use my Tesla app to manage charging my Tesla compared to the charger.
I wish the speedometer could be moved to the middle. Either the steering wheel ends up covering it up or my hand placement on the wheel covers it for me. It’s nitpicking but it would be nice if we had more customization for the instrument panel. Since it’s basically a monitor I don’t see why they can’t add in more options. Even resize the whole thing would be helpful.
Ya I get it, with it all being software it would be nice to have more customization. Once one manufacturer starts doing that, we will see it happen to more.

This is great info as always Victor. Do you have an update on the preconditioning/bms availability. I delayed servicing my I5 until next week which is 4 weeks after they said it would be 2-3 weeks.
I just reached out to HMA and they said it's still going through the proper approval process. It was supposed to release 1-2 weeks ago, so sounds like the update is ready but someone up top needs to give the go ahead. My contact said it should be any day now, I had an appt scheduled for this Wednesday that I'll probably have to cancel. The next one I could secure was out in mid January. So looks like I'll be waiting until then.
@@CarsJubilee thanks Victor. I will be seeing Manny and Keith at Hyundai 112 next week for my first service. I hope its ready. Getting cold here on Long Island
Hi Victor. Thanks so much! Can you please tell me how I get to see the Speed Limit on the screen, to the left of the D/N/P? Is that the Intelligent Speed Limit Assist?
There's a few different things. If you use HDA that number is showing the speed you've set it to. If you long press the hda activation button on the steering wheel it should turn into a speed limiter, speed not to exceed that number that you set it to. If you want to use speed limit assist which will use hda and also slow the car to whatever the speed limit zone is, go to the infotainment - settings, drivers assistance settings, speed limit, speed limit assist.
I just got my Ioniq 5 tinted in the front windshield and front windows. Ever since, my screen would dim on its own to the point where I can’t even see the screen in the sun. Do you know how to turn or this feature or fix it?
hello, I have a 24 sel ioniq 5 and the tpms display is the only one I see, the power distribution is not there... any idea what could be going on ? thanks
the tire pressure, i saw another channel (ev6 owner) that the only way to reset the tpms is to fill the tire up to 45 psi, drive it a little and deflate it to whatever psi Kia tells us, since the ev6 and the ioniq 5 are the same, maybe this would work as well
Hmm that's interesting, 45 psi is way over the the recommended amount. Mine went off after filling to the proper pressure and just driving for a few minutes.
What does the efficiency number at the bottom center of the screen represent? When you are in the current drive mode it shows your current efficiency at 4.9 while the number at the bottom is 3.3, while you are in since recharge it shows 4.3 and number at bottom shows 4.3, and while you are in "life time" it shows 3.8 but the one at the bottom is 3.3. So what is it telling us?
Mine at the bottom always shows the 'since recharging' efficiency number regardless of what view mode or efficiency screen I have up. I've heard some say it can be switched to show historical or current drive but I've not found that to be the case.
I changed the setting so the mi/kwh at the bottom of the screen displays the total. I am not sure if it is lifetime or since I changed the setting but it is not since last charge or last trip. I don't remember exactly where the setting was but it's there..
@@CarsJubilee I was thrilled to see a compass on the windshield in front of my face when I test drove a 2022 Ioniq Limited last September. Was really looking forward to that when my car arrived but it is not there. When I asked about it, my salesperson said it was too complicated to explain and he would do it for me when I went in to get my license plates. But I wanted to learn how to do it myself.
Saw both i5 and Model Y today at dealerships. I5 display seems like it'll get outdated soon, clunky and stutters. Their gps looks like it's from yr 2000. I tried not to like the tesla, but it's super snappy and seems like it'll get better over time. What y'all think?
Agreed about the infotainment, Tesla is years ahead in the software. Depends on the buyer though, some don't like the one screen for everything kind of thing with Tesla.
Thanks! So much more helpful than the manual. I'm going to go through ALL of your Ionic 5 videos.
Great help as a new IONIQ owner!

Is there any way to put the speedometer in the center where I can see it? Currently, the speedometer is blocked by the wheel and my hand...

I'll have to take a dive into the system one of these to find it, though I like having it as the after recharging readout.
@@CarsJubilee just letting you know it is an option. I got used to the lifetime trading on my last car.
What is the green circle icon the the right of the last view mode. It’s a circle with a wavy line that is sometimes green and sometimes grey.
That shows auto steer is on or off
Green is on, gray is off.

How did you get dark mode?
Go to setup and then go to screen theme / layout settings and you should see it under the graphic themes tab.
How do I get the compass to be displayed in the HUD on the Limited?
I'm not sure we can get it on the HUD, but we can get it on the center of the drivers display within the view modes.
