Love the tips! As a bank beater, I agree it can be a good idea to stay at one spot for longer. I spend at least half an hour at a specific depth/area before moving or switching baits. Sometimes it takes the fish longer to smell it and come for it.
Good video deiter all this holds pretty true in my area for our large lakes and reservoirs but when it comes to the Susquehanna River and the upper Chesapeake Bay it is a totally different game
Coldest I have Catfished, Jan 1 (fishing on the first) on the bank -16 f and a 30 mph breeze at one point. Did catch fish but despite being layered and hunting coveralls I can't say I was comfortable. Had a fire for a bit but the wind was blowing the heat away. lol
It was a slip of the tongue. If you’re sitting on the bank, you want to be facing the sun. If you’re in a boat, the same rule applies: Th sides of shallow structure, such as humps and boulders, that get the most sun will warm up more.
Question.... I work at a lake with a pond that I am able to lift spill way gate letting approx 100 gal per minute out for a couple hours. Thoughts on that ?
@@porjiboi Dieter needs to straighten this out.😂 I hunt Colorado and Idaho. I can think of two times in 15 years when I got to Idaho at the end of August there was still patches of snow on only the North facing slopes. My house faces North. If I don’t shovel my driveway it will be ice for weeks because the sun doesn’t touch it. The backyard faces the South and it always melts first.
I like sitting on the couch in the winter watching u fish
And I appreciate you doing that!!! 😜

So true, "observation is the key", as I always say.
Excellent video my friend!

Thanks again for stopping in for our Halloween costume tournament
Good video Dieter but, once temps drop below 50 for the high then I am done fishing. lol
It’s supposed to be 52 today….😜
Saint Louis Fisherman here . I enjoy your videos
Man I can never catch any type of fish in the winter. In our ponds all of them just go right to the bottom and don’t feed ever
Excellent advice. Thank you
Great information 🤙🏽💯 Thanks for sharing 👍🏽
Hey Dieter. My ball python’s refuse big meals once they start the cool down period. They’ll immediately snatch a small rat during this time.

you nailed it....northern banks warm faster......

North facing banks get more sunlight? Seems like it would be SE to SW would get the longest sunlight. North slopes hold snow the longest.
Here in Colorado the northern exposed areas melt first. The angle of the sun keeps the south side in the shade of the trees and buildings.
Depending on how the lake/river is positioned according to the sun, the southern most bank is shaded the most.

@@brakemadness You’re talking north facing, I’m talking north side, which would face south.
@@porjiboi Correct. Dieter says North facing banks get more sunlight. Im not sure about that. North facing banks should be shaded by topography.
Thanks for the normal video, can we get 2 a week :)
that was easier to do during covid!
