Thanks for this great video! I sent in my Felicie in February 2022 for the female part of the button to be replaced, was quoted $60 USD. However, after a week or two of LV having my bag they couldn’t repair the button. LV gave me the option for credit of the current price (increased since I purchased in 2020) or I could choose another bag. I love my Felicie so I asked for a replacement, replacement lining was “off” so they sent another replacement and it was perfect. LV has the best customer service and the overall process was great. I was quoted 16-20 weeks but it only took about 2 months total.
Thanks for another excellent video, Michelle. You're right, we have to take care of our possessions if we want them to look good and last long, no matter how much we paid for them. I recently watched another UA-camr who brings her new designer shoes directly to a cobbler to have them resoled before she wears them ... she says it makes the shoes more durable. I thought it was an interesting idea, especially for people who are tough on shoes.

I bought lv twist bag mm back in 2019 and now the gold hardware started to have black stains. I went to lv store and I was told it was only a normal wear and tear. I was really disappointed as I’ve rarely use it, I was just told it was very common to a humid country. Just can’t justify in span of less than 3 years it became like that 😢
But if you pay more for an item, it should def mean that it's more durable because it's made of quality material, of course it is not going to last forever and it's not made of steal BUT a person that buys Louis Vuitton will certainly expect her purse/wallet to last longer then something she got at Zara.
I brought my Pochette accessories in for a replacement zipper and vachetta replacement and I was shocked to find out it’s going to take 6.5 months to be done. Also a replacement lock and key for my Speedy B 25, it really takes 6.5 months for a new lock and key?
So I got my black leather Sarah wallet at LV, not even 2 whole months and the button closure fell off. I am so sad! I only used it 2x 😭 it’s my first time calling on the repair service, hope it won’t be difficult.

Went to take it off this evening and there is a HUGE scratch/scuff mark. It even shows some silver where the gold completely came off. I was shocked. I have 4 Gucci belts that I have worn to death over the years, and bang on things all the time and they still look perfect. Will Louis Vuitton exchange my buckle/belt? This seems very low quality for a $700 belt. It was purchased a week ago.

There's such a difference between vintage LV and new. I have a 1987 Chantilly MM and a new Diane. Both are gorgeous, but the Chantilly is a _tank_ compared to the Diane. It's 35 years old and only has two minor canvas cracks on inside of the flap and the leather is only now starting to wear out in spots. The outer canvas is pristine and feels much thicker than the new stuff. Meanwhile my 3-month-old Diane already has some wear & darkening on the vachetta piping around the top flap from the strap hardware rubbing on it :( I'm thinking I may have to take it in.

im always surprised by people's attitudes at these luxury stores. Last time outside the Vuitton there was a couple and the wife was very offended and complaining to hubby about how she felt disrespected when she asked to see something less than 500€ and they showed her a key pouch ! She was blaming the SA for being condescending to her and that this amount is soo expensive that she should have had 2 bags in it. So rude of her to blame the SA when she didn't do any research on LV website, she would have found the actual price of these bags starting around 1200€/1500€ for a canvas neverfull or speedy.

Very informative video. Question. How accurate is the LV app repair tracker. After repair assessment on the tracker and repair is in progress is there a chance to get a call from SA your bag will not be repaired even if its done with the final assessment
I think the problem with LV canvas is that the canvas of the past was more durable and better quality. My husband had his first wallet and after 10 years of daily use it was still in excellent condition. I purchased him another wallet in a different canvas about 3 years ago and it has been used the same, except this new wallet has been to LV repair recently to have the glazing replaced and a leather pocket fixed. I don't even want to talk about the canvas 6 key holder, 3 years later that has fallen apart. Consumers do expect better quality for the price they are paying for LV especially when in the past, LV items lasted a lot longer. Now, the quality is questionable.

Hi Michelle! 👋 😀 I want to buy a pre loved bag that has "melting deglazing" and it's on the Louis Vuitton x Christian Louboutin Shopper Iconoclast Tote. That bag is stunning however the red glazing, especially on the top handles are melting off! I understand this is a defect correct. My question is will LV repair the glazing or replace the handles on this bag if they know I'm NOT the original owner? Will they ask for the original LV receipt. I feel it shouldn't matter right as a defect is a defect. Are you familiar with this bag? Also the bag is missing the cool monogram and vachetta lugguage tag. Can I request LV to order that for me as a repair part? It is also missing the LV CL dustbag. It's not a big deal not to have the dust bag but I would love it as it was a special edition. 🥰. She said they replaced the handles. They didn't reglaze her handles but put new handles on with new glaze. You mentioned in this video if glazing is melting off to bring it in and it doesn't matter the age. Is it possible just because they did hers it doesn't mean they will do mine? I'm bummed. Is there anything I can do?😒
Oh good news (kind of) lol. My SA said it is repairable but only free IF the purchase of the bag shows in my account. Well it won't as it waa purchased at Fashionphile. If it was in my account it would be free he said. So for me to get new handles it's $175 for each handle which is not bad...HOWEVER it's a 5 month wait to receive it back. Yuck! Lol

I had it hot stamped (non refundable) & not sure if they will send a replacement or want to repair it; I'm not wanting to wait 6 to 8 months due to that even though its "defective", any advice?

You can't. You have to prove you own the bag, either on your profile or bring it into the store. If you had a friend who owns the bag, theoretically they could purchase a "replacement" piece like a strap for you.

I think the problem with LV canvas is that the canvas of the past was more durable and better quality. It’s not brass though…it’s just metal plated…I don’t think you can polish it …

I kinda have a problem with that if LV is not going to clean them but I know we are not getting an unhandled product anyhow. It may be store stock that has been on display or at the least unpacked or packed by an SA. Yes, germ freak here & the thought is troubling. I promise not to pass my germs back if it's any comfort. LOL
