Haha I can easily relate to what you say. I am Leo rising and Aquarius sun. People are lost when they start to dig under the surface of my Leo. Somehow, I sometimes feel like I might be some kind of bipolar person. It used to affect me but now, with more understanding, I am accepting my nature more and more every single day.

EXACTLYYYYY. I've always resonated with my rising more than my sun and my moon combined. THIS should be the definition of what an ascendant is dang. Finally some solid in depth information. I've never really related with my sun, I mean I see myself in my sun sign but it's not quite there yet. My moon sign comes out when I'm triggered either in a good or a bad way, BUT MY ASCENDANT? No I'm that 24/7. I'm always a libra (in my eyes), trying to be a leo and the aries comes out when I'm DEEPLYYYY reacting.

Your way of explain things is so clever and clear, this video definitely is my favorite regarding the point of view in the ascendant and its importance, because personally since i discovered my rising sign everything became clearer for me. From the way my parents describe me as a child, how i remember others seeing me in my childhood and the person i'm now, my ascendant perfectly describes how i feel/how i am. You are undoubtedly one of the best astrologers around here and i'm glad i found your channel.
This made sense to me in a lot of ways. My mother (a Virgo with Cancer moon and Venus, Taurus rising) never could relate to me, thought I was emotionless and basically scared of me because she couldn't relate, so she her wanting to me to be more Taurean (I have a ton of Cap in 9th house, including sun, moon, rx mercury, S. Node, etc.; Aquarius 10th house Mars and Venus with Venus conjunct my Midheaven..., and Taurus rising). Sometimes I would act very Capricorn (not necessarily stereotypse exactly how you would read generically out of books, but Capricorn matching my chart), and other times a lot of Taurus would seem to come naturally, or be like a defense mechanism because I really want to make people comfortable and get along (also Jupiter in 7th house Sag, I saw your video for reminded me a bit how I am with people and not so pessimistic as I read about Cap's). I also could see how my Taurus comforts and qualities could be influenced from a past life and how my initial distaste for Capricorn is what got me into astrology -- to find reasons to like it and see it in myself. For me also the sun and moon in Capricorn representing my parents makes a lot of sense to, and my relationships with them. I'm not completely sure about the South Node's uniqueness to karma and past life vs. the ascendent as you see it (my S. Node being Cap and N. Node being Cancer, but hopefully I will find out more in your videos. I have seen always, a lot of Capricorn in me, but saw it as a bane often (and now try to focus on the good qualities and positive things it has brought me and strengths it gives me) and that is also easier to do when looking at my chart collectively. I do still relate to Taurus in a lot of ways, but allowing myself to see that, with a lot of the rest of my chart, was more recent, afraid it would be delusional given how much Cap I have.

I remember after one of my first interviews that I nailed thinking, "Who the hell was that?" This super confident, optimistic, bubbly side of me came out so naturally that I almost felt like I deceived them lol. Now that I understand astrology I know that my Sagittarius rising was leading the show while my Virgo Sun/Moon/Mars took a backseat. I think bosses are always surprised to learn that I'm actually pessimistic, down-to-earth, and sarcastic - not at all what I portrayed initially. They are always very pleased with how hard working, detail oriented, and focused I am; but with costumer service jobs, that bubbly, friendly personality is something they want and I no doubt disappoint.

I feel much more of a pisces rising when i first meet people, but i've very adaptable. I can either be the loudest peson or the quietest person, it depends on who is around.
Cancer sun, aquarius moon and scorpio rising here. I feel most at home with my scorpio because it gives me strength where my cancer self would leave me vulnerable. Only really loved people get to experience my inner cancer. It also has been a good guideline for me to see who fits into my life and who doesn't. Because if somebody doesn't "awaken" the cancer in me, I know they're not a fit for me. The only time where I am not afraid to be a cancer, outside from being with a partner that i trust, is when I play/interact with kids. I was a very shy kid growing up never caused no trouble,there was no sign of my rising sign back then just my virgo, as an adult not as shy and ill give an example of me more now,not so long ago i had a new boss in my supermarket job who seemed nice at first but i had niggling doubts about him and as a little time went on i realised he was rude when he could get away with it did not treat people the way he would expected to be treated back, one shift i was at my fury with him he said the wrong thing and my pure intensity came out it never got physical but it was very close he i think was just to terrified a six ft 3or4 guy me just five ft 5, later on after that day he did not like me but never messed with me again he described me as a split personality as he thought i was one of the nicest people he ever met when he first worked with me, that was never in me as a kid, at the time i knew zero other than i was a virgo ,i only now recently become aware of other signs and theres so much more to find out, i found out im virgo sun with scorpio risin&it makes so much sense
You're right in that i deeply seek to become my Sun Sign,and i did hear from my experienced teacher that our Sun Sign is who we work our whole life to become. I have very varied energies in my chart too, as my 3 main signs all differ in their elements for instance.
I do not want to be my sun sign I feel muuuch more like my rising and my moon sign. I do not think that the sun sign is what we want to be, but what we use as a mask (because ego is the mask that we use to protect our self from what we really are, our moon.) So, the first feeling that people have from us is our ego and then when people get to know us better they start to understand, despite that that first feeling, how we see life and how we approach to life (that's our rising) and when we feel comfortable with them they see our core (moon sign). So sun sign is what we think we are and should be because we use it as an armor. So when we are more attached to our emotions, we do not feel as identified as our sun sign. As the ascendant is our appearance (among other things) of course people will see our ascendant but will feel our sun sign because we will be acting as our sun sign.
Hmm, the interesting thing is that my North Node is the same sign as my Ascendant.🧐 Perhaps I really want to wear a certain pair of pants, but have to work to grow into them. The other odd thing is that my birth chart the Solar and Lunar Eclipses are the same signs as North and South Node, only in reverse. My best guess is that I have to do some serious balancing.
It's not something you portray and it's not a mask, it represents you the MOST out of every placement, the 1st house/ascendant is your spark and your actions before you reflect and think, even when other people aka 7th house(descendent) are not around..... The ruling planet and it's aspects will show you the circumstances and individuality of your rising sign and what will fuel it the most and how you will rise into the power of your rising sign over time or learn the lesson you came to this life for..... Also the rising sign is what sets up the houses for the rest of the chart, alll the other signs are doing things for the sole purpose of your rising sign, whether you are aware of it or not.

Hell no. My sun sign is cancer. I hate how vulnerable it leaves me at times. I feel much more at home and stronger with my rising sign which is also scorpio. Especially since I learned not to use that stinger that much anymore. :D

For me its like this in this order when it comes to influence: sun (Scorpio) > ascendant (Leo) > moon (Gemini) I hate that I have a Gemini moon but it is what it is, at least I have fun being goofy

I heard that the ascendent is actually the opposite of what you were in a past life. Just like how the north node/south node polarity works. So if you were for eg too focused on career/status and at the end of your life deeply regretted not being involved with your family you come back into your new life with a cancer rising, to fill out your souls desire.

I’m Aquarius rising, Libra sun and Scorpio moon ~ but I feel like a water sign as my moon have an intense and detrimental placement. And I also have Scorpio in Venus and Midheaven. I don’t even want to be this way but I tend to be very secretive, even to my parents. The usual day-to-day question like ‘What have you eaten at Uni?’ and “What time are you coming back home?”. I'd say the rising sign is the karma, and therefore the instinct we carry most prominently in our childhood. My rising sign is Leo, and this video made many things clearer to me. I've always believed that in my past life I was a royal. I love my pearls, parties. I'm all about mannerisms and respect, and high morals. In my first impression I want to come off as well off, knowledgeable and worthy of respect. (I know I know, it sounds very cliche) As a kid I wanted attention, and was given that most of the time. I was well fed, well dressed and well received by my community. If in my past life I was a Leo, and in my present life I have Leo as my rising sign, my guilty instinct, I'd say it's pretty much on point. What is more interesting is that in my present life I'm Capricorn sun and Aquarius moon. And life's a purgatory, but it kinda makes sense.
I'm a Taurus Rising and naturally relate more and express that usually unless in formal situations/holding up responsibilities efficiently (especially to get back to the lesser stress and more comfortable and pleasant way mode of living I prefer to carry out my relationships/lifestyle/creativity -- the softer feeling). When I don't feel I have to be stiff or maximize efficency, I come across much more naturally like a Taurus than Capricorn, though I embody a lot of Cap traits too. Pisces Sun, Leo Moon, Gemini Ascendant - Mercury in Aries in the 10th. North Node in Virgo in the 3rd opposite Sun in Pisces. I struggle to work on Virgo practicality & down to earthiness. I'd rather stay in the realm of fantasy from my Pisces South Node.

Well,same here.But it's because the sun is in the 8th house.So,you would feel more scorpionic.I feel as I got older,I started to become more of a social butterfly.Bit more lighthearted and humorous in nature.
My rising is Aquarius and my Sun sign is Gemini. But i have always been more prone to sceinece, universe and figuring out its mysteries. I am very less social and i only like talking about big ideas that pushes the humanity forward. A clear example of what the host is pointing out to. I am Aquarius through and through and its just that i work in a kind of environment where communication has to be your strongest asset so just like those pair of jeans the host was talking about i am constantly trying to fit into them. Eliza I am so confused about my sun sign. My birthday is June 21. I grew up thinking I was Gemini but in more recent years most astrologists have the 21st Cancer. Why is it so variable? I’ve not noticed any other sign that changes at much as this particular cusp. Also, does cusp mean one is a blend of both signs or something entirely different as some astrologists say? Thank you! I think the Ascendant is more important when it comes to forecasting. Most Astrologers always mention about planets entering houses so that's when you look up your rising sign. Yet when they talk about aspects then I look up whatever planet I want to know in a forecast. However, people always confuse me as my ascendant rather then my sun sign.
I have Pluto (2) Sun (17) Saturn (18) Asc (25) and Ketu (27) of Scorpio OPPOSITE Moon (25) and Rahu (27) of Taurus. I only have conjunctions in my chart. Mercury (4) and Uranus (12) - Sagittarius Venus (24) and Neptune (29) - Sagittarius Jupiter (10) and Mars (25) - Capricorn
So basically... Ascendant: Consciousness. False Ego. Needs to be released. Sun: Subconsciousness. Authentic Ego that needs to be developed. Moon: Unconsciousness. A basic instinct and driving force. Also needs to be taken care of and nourished. Am I right?
So its kinda crazy you say its about what your parents want u to be...I noticed something strange in my family. My mother is a Libra and I am Libra rising. I am a Cancer/Leo cusp, I have 2 daughters. My question is what if someone's birth chart indicates placement of most of the signs in their own respective houses for example. Thank you for video loved to watch it. But a question is still in my mind. I can't relate to my ascendant, but to my sun sign and even more to my moon sign. My moon sign sagittarius is so present some how that even by a 1st meeting people thing it's my "star sign". And in these certain situation where my rising scorpio comes out, after a short while I get tired of him and quickly the feeling to not to be myself and thus not to be able to face the situation properly. So basically I never can fully relate to ascendent videos and explanations. So now my question: is there a kind of hirachie or a sort of in this position this sign is more present than in that position?

Try scorpio ascendant, mars in scorpio, lol. People either hate me or love me. There is no inbetween. I wish I could have more shallow relationships but it's absolutely impossible. People hate me for no reason or they think I'm a psycho because of the intense eyes that especially people with mars in scorpio have. What I want to say: We all have our challenges. It's the way we grow spiritually. :)

Your way of explain things is so clever and clear, this video definitely is my favorite regarding the point of view in the ascendant and its importance, because personally since i discovered my rising sign everything became clearer for me. From the way my parents describe me as a child, how i remember others seeing me in my childhood and the person i'm now, my ascendant perfectly describes how i feel/how i am. You are undoubtedly one of the best astrologers around here and i'm glad i found your channel.
This made sense to me in a lot of ways. My mother (a Virgo with Cancer moon and Venus, Taurus rising) never could relate to me, thought I was emotionless and basically scared of me because she couldn't relate, so she her wanting to me to be more Taurean (I have a ton of Cap in 9th house, including sun, moon, rx mercury, S. Node, etc.; Aquarius 10th house Mars and Venus with Venus conjunct my Midheaven..., and Taurus rising). Sometimes I would act very Capricorn (not necessarily stereotypse exactly how you would read generically out of books, but Capricorn matching my chart), and other times a lot of Taurus would seem to come naturally, or be like a defense mechanism because I really want to make people comfortable and get along (also Jupiter in 7th house Sag, I saw your video for reminded me a bit how I am with people and not so pessimistic as I read about Cap's).
I also could see how my Taurus comforts and qualities could be influenced from a past life and how my initial distaste for Capricorn is what got me into astrology -- to find reasons to like it and see it in myself. For me also the sun and moon in Capricorn representing my parents makes a lot of sense to, and my relationships with them.
I'm not completely sure about the South Node's uniqueness to karma and past life vs. the ascendent as you see it (my S. Node being Cap and N. Node being Cancer, but hopefully I will find out more in your videos. I have seen always, a lot of Capricorn in me, but saw it as a bane often (and now try to focus on the good qualities and positive things it has brought me and strengths it gives me) and that is also easier to do when looking at my chart collectively. I do still relate to Taurus in a lot of ways, but allowing myself to see that, with a lot of the rest of my chart, was more recent, afraid it would be delusional given how much Cap I have.

I remember after one of my first interviews that I nailed thinking, "Who the hell was that?" This super confident, optimistic, bubbly side of me came out so naturally that I almost felt like I deceived them lol. Now that I understand astrology I know that my Sagittarius rising was leading the show while my Virgo Sun/Moon/Mars took a backseat. I think bosses are always surprised to learn that I'm actually pessimistic, down-to-earth, and sarcastic - not at all what I portrayed initially. They are always very pleased with how hard working, detail oriented, and focused I am; but with costumer service jobs, that bubbly, friendly personality is something they want and I no doubt disappoint.

I'm not grumpy, I think things constantly evolve and new thoughts on anything are valuable. I think your perspective is right. I am pisces rising and aries sun. I feel much more of a pisces rising when i first meet people, but i've very adaptable. I can either be the loudest peson or the quietest person, it depends on who is around.

Cancer sun, aquarius moon and scorpio rising here. I feel most at home with my scorpio because it gives me strength where my cancer self would leave me vulnerable. Only really loved people get to experience my inner cancer. It also has been a good guideline for me to see who fits into my life and who doesn't. Because if somebody doesn't "awaken" the cancer in me, I know they're not a fit for me. The only time where I am not afraid to be a cancer, outside from being with a partner that i trust, is when I play/interact with kids. Which is probably why I love children so much. :)

I was a very shy kid growing up never caused no trouble,there was no sign of my rising sign back then just my virgo, as an adult not as shy and ill give an example of me more now,not so long ago i had a new boss in my supermarket job who seemed nice at first but i had niggling doubts about him and as a little time went on i realised he was rude when he could get away with it did not treat people the way he would expected to be treated back, one shift i was at my fury with him he said the wrong thing and my pure intensity came out it never got physical but it was very close he i think was just to terrified a six ft 3or4 guy me just five ft 5, later on after that day he did not like me but never messed with me again he described me as a split personality as he thought i was one of the nicest people he ever met when he first worked with me, that was never in me as a kid, at the time i knew zero other than i was a virgo ,i only now recently become aware of other signs and theres so much more to find out, i found out im virgo sun with scorpio risin&it makes so much sense

I do not want to be my sun sign I feel muuuch more like my rising and my moon sign. I do not think that the sun sign is what we want to be, but what we use as a mask (because ego is the mask that we use to protect our self from what we really are, our moon.) So, the first feeling that people have from us is our ego and then when people get to know us better they start to understand, despite that that first feeling, how we see life and how we approach to life (that's our rising) and when we feel comfortable with them they see our core (moon sign). So sun sign is what we think we are and should be because we use it as an armor. So when we are more attached to our emotions, we do not feel as identified as our sun sign. As the ascendant is our appearance (among other things) of course people will see our ascendant but will feel our sun sign because we will be acting as our sun sign.

Hmm, the interesting thing is that my North Node is the same sign as my Ascendant.🧐 Perhaps I really want to wear a certain pair of pants, but have to work to grow into them. The other odd thing is that my birth chart the Solar and Lunar Eclipses are the same signs as North and South Node, only in reverse. My best guess is that I have to do some serious balancing.

It's not something you portray and it's not a mask, it represents you the MOST out of every placement, the 1st house/ascendant is your spark and your actions before you reflect and think, even when other people aka 7th house(descendent) are not around..... The ruling planet and it's aspects will show you the circumstances and individuality of your rising sign and what will fuel it the most and how you will rise into the power of your rising sign over time or learn the lesson you came to this life for..... Also the rising sign is what sets up the houses for the rest of the chart, alll the other signs are doing things for the sole purpose of your rising sign, whether you are aware of it or not.

I heard that the ascendent is actually the opposite of what you were in a past life. Just like how the north node/south node polarity works. So if you were for eg too focused on career/status and at the end of your life deeply regretted not being involved with your family you come back into your new life with a cancer rising, to fill out your souls desire.

I’m Aquarius rising, Libra sun and Scorpio moon ~ but I feel like a water sign as my moon have an intense and detrimental placement. And I also have Scorpio in Venus and Midheaven. If in my past life I was a Leo, and in my present life I have Leo as my rising sign, my guilty instinct, I'd say it's pretty much on point. What is more interesting is that in my present life I'm Capricorn sun and Aquarius moon. And life's a purgatory, but it kinda makes sense.
I'm a Taurus Rising and naturally relate more and express that usually unless in formal situations/holding up responsibilities efficiently (especially to get back to the lesser stress and more comfortable and pleasant way mode of living I prefer to carry out my relationships/lifestyle/creativity -- the softer feeling). When I don't feel I have to be stiff or maximize efficency, I come across much more naturally like a Taurus than Capricorn, though I embody a lot of Cap traits too. Well,same here.But it's because the sun is in the 8th house.So,you would feel more scorpionic.I feel as I got older,I started to become more of a social butterfly.Bit more lighthearted and humorous in nature.
My rising is Aquarius and my Sun sign is Gemini. But i have always been more prone to sceinece, universe and figuring out its mysteries. I am very less social and i only like talking about big ideas that pushes the humanity forward. A clear example of what the host is pointing out to. I am Aquarius through and through and its just that i work in a kind of environment where communication has to be your strongest asset so just like those pair of jeans the host was talking about i am constantly trying to fit into them. And that's how i feel my communication is also a strong tool in my arsenal.

Eliza I am so confused about my sun sign. My birthday is June 21. I grew up thinking I was Gemini but in more recent years most astrologists have the 21st Cancer. Why is it so variable? I’ve not noticed any other sign that changes at much as this particular cusp. Also, does cusp mean one is a blend of both signs or something entirely different as some astrologists say? Thank you! I think the Ascendant is more important when it comes to forecasting. Most Astrologers always mention about planets entering houses so that's when you look up your rising sign. Yet when they talk about aspects then I look up whatever planet I want to know in a forecast. However, people always confuse me as my ascendant rather then my sun sign.

My question is what if someone's birth chart indicates placement of most of the signs in their own respective houses for example. Thank you for video loved to watch it. But a question is still in my mind. I can't relate to my ascendant, but to my sun sign and even more to my moon sign. My moon sign sagittarius is so present some how that even by a 1st meeting people thing it's my "star sign". And in these certain situation where my rising scorpio comes out, after a short while I get tired of him and quickly the feeling to not to be myself and thus not to be able to face the situation properly. So basically I never can fully relate to ascendent videos and explanations. So now my question: is there a kind of hirachie or a sort of in this position this sign is more present than in that position?
