- The 2019 Dakar Rally was hosted by just one country for the first time in its 42-year history - Peru. Traversing 5,000 kms of the Peruvian terrain over 10 stages can take a toll on even the most hardened rally racers across the world! However, this didn't stop 534 brave competitors from lining up at the ceremonial start in Lima, Peru. Among these bravehearts were CS Santhosh, Joaquim Rodrigues and Oriol Mena, the flagbearers for Hero MotoSports Team Rally. As one of the only two Indian teams on the grid, Hero is carrying a fair bit of weight on its shoulders. Glen follows their stories and the journey leading up to the chequered flag!

Guys make a video on what a Dakar bike is, how different is that from normal off-road bikes , how the race happens like ... refuelling and all the stuff like that. Would love to see what these bikes are actually...!

It's not really a Hero bike. It's a Speedbrain 450, a rally bike made by a German racing company based on the BMW HP2/450 gs. Essentially it's a BMW.

Isle of Man TT is the most dangerous motorcycle race in the world but trust me Dakar rally is tougher than you think.
Great Video.. Top notch cinematography, the audio was too good... Those over head shots were too good... Hats off to the behind the scene team..

@SAHIL THAKUR yeah, had a look on it. I actually ment about 450RR on raods, as the one which is in Dakar was for rally racing.
May be 450RR resembles like Xpulse rally kit and 450 like XPLUSE 200.

I hav a doubt...somany loses their life in dakar by accident....but why dont the use adiquate safety protection for riding....i know they use protection but my doubt is why dont they use extreme level to resist damage..
Or is there any problem to wear big protection jacket to cover long distance?...do you know powerdrift
