Yes it does! I'm struggling with that at the moment. I find myself first painting (weathering) in broad strokes, and then once I get a loose direction I can begin to concentrate on small/smaller details and areas. It's a mind game, at least for me.
You knocked it out of the park with the interior detailing, paint and weathering - glad you have left open panels to be able to view all that work, nice on the camo too - thanks for sharing - cant wait to see the outer weathering
Looks great so far. I did the 1/35th scale kit and it looks as though they just upscaled this from that. My camo was the same and it was a really fun little kit. looking forward to see what you do with the weathering.
Hey Rick, I am currently building the 1/35th scale Takom Grant tank. Lots of clean up on that kit too. The engineering and fit are great, but yes a lot of clean up for me too. Love the tank, as I do all your work! Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and your family 🎄🎅
Glad you like it. Music is important to me and I want to incorporate it into these videos as best as possible. So much is under license and so off limits to me (join patreon to help me purchase music!!! LOL). I do the best I can as I think that it can add to the viewer experience. Thanks, my friend. Merry Christmas.
Beautiful work on the camo! I have a 1/35 version of this kit and I have no idea how I’m going to be able to pull the camo off at a smaller scale. I’m sure your video will be a great guide.
I wondered, as all that beautiful detailed interior now seems to disappears behind armour, if the hinges can be made operable. At 1/16scale this should be possible. That camo is smashing. Anyhow this kit is so cool!
I you, (or I) were inclined, you certainly could make these hinges workable by drilling out the the brackets and inserting a pin. I won't do that...just lazy on my part, but certainly an option.
Looks great Rick! Maybe you could play with sheen on that leather seat? Not that it needs it, but since it's a big surface, could be fun. Wait... since it's all closed up, never mind!
HA. I actually did do that, added a bit of satin (off camera)....LOL. Yes, hidden, never to be seen...but I got caught up in the moment and focused on what was at hand. A nice moment. LOL. Thanks Pete, Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas :) Thats an Excellent paint and weathering job mate. How are those G3 to airbrush with ? Do they having a specific thinning ratio? Keep on the good work and model on Have a nice day and bench time .
They are "about" 60/40 paint to Gen 3 thinner? I generally go more by feel and test, rather than specific ratios or drops. If it works, it works! The Gen3 Paints airbrush well. The key is to lay down that first very light layer, and then build opacity.
What a beast... Wow...
Yes, it's BIG! Take care.
Good stuff a lot more detail at that scale takes a long time

I remember your project, I should look back at it. I'm sure that it's a high bar. Thanks, Scott. I have enjoyed our chats and your support.
As always another great demo! Thanks for the inspiration Rick.
My pleasure! I'm glad that you are here.

Yep, sometimes things just get "old school" I guess. Back in the day........ Take care, and Merry Christmas to you as well.
Great work with this huge small tank, Rick, by the way, I love the music you use for your videos

Thank goodness you left the engine hatches removable. You did such a great job on the engine it would be a crime to seal it up.
It seems like a lot of people are stressed about closing up the interior. Thanks for watching, and your support. All the best.
Looks good, Rick. Did you AK Real Color or the 3rd Gen for the black striping?
Jeff, the black is Gen 3 paints. Thanks for watching.
Merry Christmas :)
