There will never be another Madame Noor Jehan or Lataji ever. In Pakistan madames songs were a surety of film success especially Punjabi films. Her ghazals are too unmatchable. And there are no words to describe Latajis voice melody and contribution. I was fortunate to attend the funeral of madame. God bless the souls of both singing legends.

A very nice video on friendship. The great Noorjahan & the magical Lata. The words of Noorjahan turned prophetic for Lata Mangeshkar after their first meeting in Kolhapur, at Master Vinayak's production house. It felt very nice to hear that the friendship that started in 1945 lasted till Noorjahan's last breath in 2000. Instances such as having snacks & lunch at the Wagah border in 1950, the sharing of their songs on the telephone & both of them meeting each other in London every year shows the bonding between the two legends. Despite the differences between their respective coutries, they continued to be in touch & stuck to their personal as well as professional relations till the very end. This was really a very touching story on friendship Rahoul... Loved the video vey much ❤❤❤

So true. Art transcends politics and this friendship between Lataji and Noor Jehan is such a fine example. They always supported each other. No competition, each unique. I miss Lata Didi so much. Like so many others, I will always sing her beautiful songs and celebrate her. My tears are ceaseless. Her voice will remain in our hearts and her legacy will never die.
Lata jee (May god rest her soul) said in an interview once that it was Noor jahan who taught her through her songs how to say mohabbat in a song, and then when rahat fateh Ali came to the kapil sharma show he said that we learned it from lata jee.
