@kimhunter2 Actually I think your wrong about that and I suggest a course on Metis history. Read the primary reports from the Hudson Bay Company or evern secondary material that are based on them and they will cleary show thousands of buffalo hides and pemmican being shipped to the interior HBC posts. Year after year this resulting in the overall decline of the buffalo on the plains. The fur trade in western Canada was about 100 years. Read Woodcock's book on Dumont and the old journals from HBC
@kimhunter2 Sorry to say this but that's idiotic. If it wasn't for companies such as the North West Company and the Hudson's Bay Company there would have never have been a people called the "Metis". Well more so of the NWC more than the HBC considering the HBC were an English company and didn't have the french word "Metis" in their vocabulary. So history is great...look into it.
